Ground Control To Major Mom.....I am stuck on top bunk.

Yeah, Moe has been stuck on top bunk. He is a little worried about climbing down the ladder. A couple times I have had to help him negotiate that first couple steps down. Mimi loves the bunk beds and feels like a big girl. I am shocked at how much smaller they make a room look, but I remember how much fun bunk beds were as kids.
This head board and foot board were Kevin's from childhood. He said he never wanted the kids to use them. They have metal rails that run lengthwise down the sides. He has scars from running into them and jumping down on them. We solved the issue with a noodle! We put a vertical slit in it and slid it over the rail. It has stayed on and protected little legs!
(Angel, he saw this picture and said "there is my favorite blanket. I lost it last night!)

I am a sucker for these sorts of kits:

I managed to get several and I am going to work on them tonight. They make pillows. One thing I really like is that there are girl astronauts! How awesome!

Finally. I recovered a chair. It looks better in person. This fabric is luxurious. It really is. It was a remnant piece and I loved it. It has little ferns on it...I don't think the detail is obvious in this photo. Anyway, it goes in our bedroom and now I can sit and read. I hate to lay down and read. Now I got a sitting chair! LOL! :)

Alright. I guess I should go. My house is a wreck. We are spring cleaning. Actually it is more like de cluttering. We are getting rid of a lot of stuff. I am amazed at how much I have held onto. I still had baby bumpers from the crib. Need I say more?
Have a great week!

MOOOOOO!

Mimi painted and penciled this cow in art class. I really love it. I am thinking of framing it. I love how the utters hang off to the side too. She was unhappy with the ear on the right.

I still have a headache. Day 3.

Classic Comic Book in the Making

This was written about 3 months ago and I have been meaning to post it. I think my favorite is page 3. I often step in fire because I "forgot to look down." Pure awesomeness.

Homemade Goodness

The picture says it all. HOMEMADE BREAD. It is simply divine. This is a whole wheat loaf. Here is the recipe. It is easy and there is no kneading! 4 ingredients and one of them is water! The rest is easy and anyone can do it.

Keeping busy

This quilt is for my dad. I hope to give it to him this weekend, but I need to log some hours if
that is going to happen.

I have been making more pigs.
I altered the pattern. The pattern calls for an unusually long neck. I don't like the head flopping about. This pig has about 1/5 the neck called for and I think it is about right. It took several pigs for me to get it right.
They kind of freak me out when they don't have their snouts or ears on. I have this fear they will look really wonky or even worse--scary! Probably looking in this bag would be scarier!
Oh, and look at the blanket. I will be 90 before that thing is done. GAH. I don't know why I chose to make such a large blanket. It will be a queen size throw...if it ever gets done. It will be warm...if it ever gets done.

Have a good week!

Scrappy Yarn Project

I love these so much. I love that it uses up those last bit of scrap yarn, and I love headbands. I went to etsy to see if anyone sold these badboys and I was shocked. I cannot imagine selling these for $10 or more....I was thinking maybe $2 max. I don't even sell things so it kind of makes this all the more funny, but I know I wouldn't charge $10! or more!!!
