Wade's Birthday

We celebrated Wade's birthday today. He turned 3, although now he says he's 4. He had presents all throughout the day. In the morning it was Grandma's presents, in the afternoon, presents from the cousins, and in the evening, mom and dad's presents. He was in heaven. It was a good day.

And yes, Grandma those are the swim trunks you got him. He's sleeping in them tonight too. You only turn 3 once.

Trip to the fire station

Reed had a preschool field trip to the fire station. His class consists of all boys. Needless to say they had a GREAT time. Loved the questions - "do you have a kite?" and the comments - "this was the best day ever." Wade was able to tag along too. They both got a shot in the red fire truck too. Very cute! We all had a great time.

T-ball

This is Logan's first year at T-ball. Last Saturday was his first game. He's having fun! He was able to be the "catcher" for the first game. What the catcher in T-ball actually does evades me, but at least he looked like one.

Disneyland!!

We did our yearly trip to Disneyland last month. We had a great time! We met lots of characters, rode all the rides we could including the new Toy Story ride, and the kids had a great time!

Third times the Charm!

We were finally able to celebrate Pepper's birthday! The stars must have aligned. We could not get it together. I have the same plight of every parent - the more kids there are in the family, the likelihood of having a birthday celebration of anykind (let alone, an actual party dedicated solely to them) drastically decreases. So with Pepper being #4, we were hard pressed just to celebrate it as a family.

Her birthday was sadly forgotten. It's hard having a birthday so close after Christmas. It comes too fast.

The first attempt was on her actual birthday, Jan 12. A sad sort of celebration, honestly. Mike was out of town, Mom's energy was tapped. I didn't mention it to the boys thinking they might guilt me into baking her a cake. So no cake or even a simple cupcake were made, no presents, there was no resemblance of a milestone 1st birthday at all. Out of guilt I finally told the kids at bedtime that I that it was her birthday. The boys were so cute about it and made such a big deal. They sang her 'Happy Birthday,' turned out the lights, and gave her an imaginery cake with candles that they helped blow out. They even wrapped up her own toys for her (in a blanket) and gave them to her as quasi-imaginery birthday presents.

We attempted to celebrate with the Barlows in January, but Pepper started throwing up with the flu 15 min before everyone showed up. So that didn't happen.

It only took 3 tries, but it actually happened! We celebrated with the Quances, during SuperBowl. Keri's kids were there, grandma, grandpa, and the family. It wasn't a party really, but with a cupcake, candle, and pictures to document, maybe she'll think it was.

She looks pretty content with that cupcake. I think she'll be okay :)

at home

Some pictures from around the house.

Pepper with her curly hair
(but of course won't keep her bows in)

Pepper's latest word - "uuh" (up) when she wants to be picked up and will sign milk. It's hard to get what you want in life being a baby.

Reed with a bubble-beard in his bath...

Reed says some funny things sometimes. Lately it's been his reference to anything in the past as last noon. "Mom do you remember when I did that last noon, when I was three."

and Wade just being a ham

Wade has been working on potty training himself (because mom is too lazy). He wants to wear pull-ups and go to school like his big brothers. After he goes potty it's "I go school now?"

going to the zoo, zoo, zoo...

We had a great family saturday morning going to the zoo. It was cold enough for the animals to be out, and cold enough most people stayed home.

The boys love the play area at the zoo. I think that might be the most exciting part for them.

The headliners we saw were the seals, alligator, ostrich, tigers, lions, giraffes, chimps, elephant and hippo. The hippo and elephant are definetly their favorites.
