Two Years...

I cannot believe it has been two whole years since we got married. I feel like it was last week. I am so grateful that I married Mike, and that we got married in the temple. I remember when I got my endowments out, I came around the corner and saw Mike for the first time in the Temple and he was all dressed in white. Everything was exactly perfect at that moment. What a wonderful place the temple is.

Here are a few fun things, and a few funny things, that have happened over the past two years...

- We went on a fantastic honeymoon to California. After having our car break down two times, we had to be picked up from our honeymoon by my parents. What a way to start your life "independent!"

- We had a great school year being a married couple. We took some classes together and had a lot of fun. I would not suggest that a married couple study Economics together. I think this is when we had our first "disagreement"...ha ha!

- We played intertube waterpolo together and won the championship. I was pregnant and sick and didn't want to go to the games, but Mike always pumped me up and told me that I had to have the eye of the tiger and get out there and score some goals, needless to say, I did just that, scored goals while Mike defended the goal and taunted the players.

- We had a fun summer in St. George. I only "lost my cookies" twice and felt pretty lucky that I wasn't as sick as some people get. We loved living next to Sunee and Kyle and so close to Stalee and Clint! Living by Family is very fun.

- We had little William...what an experience! We love the little guy.

Probably one of my favorite things in the whole world is to spend time with Mike! I am actually a pretty jealous person and always want all of Mike's attention because I still have a huge crush on him. Thank you Michael J for marrying me two years ago and making my life so wonderful each and every day!

Like I always say...Marriage is great! I would definitely recommend it!

Mourn with those who mourn...

We have all been very sad this weekend because of the tragic death of Mike's uncle and two little cousins. They were in a terrible car wreck in Idaho. The second to oldest daughter is still in the hospital struggling. Pray for the wife who lost her husband and two little girls in the same day and pray for the daughter Taylor who is in the hospital. We truly are mourning with those who mourn...

My Mother's Day!

Today was my first time that I was able to really celebrate Mother's Day. First off, I want to say thank you to William. If it weren't for him, I would not be a mother :) Second, thanks to Mike. He made my mother's day so wonderful. I am currently looking at beautiful flowers on my table surrounded by a big basket of fresh fruit! Mike really knows me well! I LOVE fruit and was overjoyed when he brought home so much of it! Thank you.

Yesterday I thought a lot about my short experience of motherhood and I decided to post a few things that have surprised me about motherhood.

1. LOVE. I know everybody always says that you love your kids more than you can even imagine, and they were right. I love William more than I could literally imagine. The bond between us is incredible. No matter where he is, sleeping, playing with mike, or being babysat, he is constantly in the back of my mind. My whole life revolves around that little kid. Like they said, I love him more than you can even imagine.

2. HARD. People always told me that motherhood was really hard. I figured this was mostly because you were so tired and it never ended so it must be hard. I never realized part of the reason it was hard was because you were in charge of making all the decisions for another person. I have to decide when to feed him, when to give him a bath, whether to make him cry through the night, whether he needs another nap, what he should wear, when he needs his diaper changed, when he should start eating solids...and so on and so on. I am a bad decision maker and so this part of motherhood has already been challenging for me.

3. JOY. I never realized how happy such little things can make me. I become so excited when william smiles, laughs, burps, goes to the bathroom, grabs toys, moves in an army crawl, babbles, and so on. For being able to do so little, he brings me so much joy.

4. EMOTION. I now have this motherly emotion that is incredible. I even cried when I heard of a little kitten dying because he couldn't nurse. I want every baby (whether human or not) to be taken care of and loved. Lets just say tears are much closer to the surface now.

5. RESPONSIBILITY. I don't know why I was blessed with little William, but I feel so responsible to give it my all to teach him the right ways. I know he is just a baby, but I see the world turning for the worse and I see my little baby who has no idea what he will grow up in. Mike and I give thanks for little William every night and we both feel great responsibility to teach him the gospel and correct principles.

OVERALL I love motherhood. I love William and I can't wait to have more children so that I can love them too!

Top ten things that happened this past week

Top ten things that have happened this past week...not in any particular order
1. William learned to sit up. He can only do it for seconds at the moment, but he is very close to doing it for good.

2. We had a wonderful stake conference by satellite. Elder Bednar, Pres. Eyering, and Gerald Lund spoke. It was so fantastic that I wish you all had been there.

3. I went down to my mom's yesterday and William and I sat on a blanket under the shade. It was so warm and it got me really excited for summer. Then mom made me the most delicious sandwich ever. I love being close to my mom. Thanks mom!

4. Mike and I got to go on a date on Friday night while mom and dad tended William. Mike made me dinner and then we went to Ross Dress for Less and got Mike a few new work shirts and William some new p.j.'s. It was extremely fun to be alone with mike for those three hours.

5. We got to go to the temple on Wednesday. Thanks Stalee and Clint for tending. It had been such a long time and it was great to go back :)

6. We rented Enchanted and watched it for the first time. It was cute. I especially like when all the animals came to clean. Classic :)

7. We played our last volleyball game. It was fun to see my old friends so much. I hope we stay in touch better.

8. I ran a mile and a half straight without stopping. No big deal for some of you, big deal for me :)

9. William slept for four hours straight, nursed and went back to sleep for three hours. It was the best night we have had in months.

10. Mike is starting into a new position at the bank. He is a member banking representative. I'm not sure what he will do, but the name sounds cool.

Those are just a few highlights from our past week. Overall we are happy, in love, and so blessed! Love and miss you all. Judi
