Halloween

Our Halloween kinda got off to a bad start this year, of all days Clay woke up sick. I thought he had just come down with the flu again but nope not only was it the flu but the swine flu. So because he was so sick I got the kids all dressed up to go out trick or treating. Alex came over with her family and joined us. We just walked around our neighbor hood, so the kids didn't get a ton of candy but it was enough. Owen was Iron Man this year, he has really gotten into the super hero's this year. I had to hide it from him just so it would not be totally ruined before Halloween even got here. He love to dress up and jump off the couch like he is flying! Austin was a fire fighter, he wouldn't smile in any of the pictures cause he said fire fighters don't smile. So he had to act serious in order to pull off the costume!

Summer time pictures

So because it has been SO long since I have posted anything I thought I would just share a few pictures from the summer. The first ones are of when we went swimming with my sister and her kids. The kitty pictures well I am a sucker for cute little kittens being given away in the Wal Mart parking lot. The one of Owen sucking on the cats ear...well if any of you know Clay he got that from him. Clay has a major love for ears, not cat ears but he is always playing with the kids ears! I guess Owen thought he would give it a try!

Nothing like camping in the rain!

The whole group
Owen looking into flashlights
Clay being crazy
Enjoying themselves
Trying to stay dry

A few weeks ago we went camping with a few friends of ours. We had been waiting all summer for a chance to go camping, by the time we got all of our stuff loaded the big black clouds started to roll in. After making a few stops to get the things we forgot... we were finally on our way up the canyon. The clouds were black as smoke right above the mouth of the canyon, when we got to the camp site it was pouring, and with no break in sight. Setting up a tent in pouring rain is not so easy, not to mention freezing cold. Soon we had everything set up and ready to go just as it stopped raining. We took advantage of no rain for the time being to cook yummy dutch oven chicken and cherry cobbler. After stuffing ourselves full we sat around the camp fire and told stories and laughed until it hurt! We had big plans to get up early the next morning and hit the trails on the four weelers...well that didn't happen either. It never stopped raining all night long. After about an hour of debating on what we should do, and realizing that our tent was starting to leak we decieded to pack everything up in pouring rain and head for home. Clay and I both looked like we had just jumped into the river when we were all done. I guess if nothing else we can say we are tough enough to camp in a compleate down pour!

Mingo Family

This is my good friend Shelley Mingo, I have known her for about five years now. She and I met when we lived in Lehi we happened to be in the same ward. Shelley has done my hair ever since. She is the most wonderful person I have ever met, and has the best family anyone could ask for. Monday Shelley received the tragic news that her husband had been killed in a plane crash. He left last Friday for Washington to go fishing with his dad and brother, when the weather took a turn for the worst they were unable to see and that's when they crashed. It took all three of them. Jordan and Shelly have three little kids their youngest is only three months old. Jordan was an amazing young father, caring and compassionate who loved his family more than anything. Shelley is trying to stay strong for her kids and make it through this terrible time. There has been a fund set up at any wells fargo bank for anyone who is able to donate. It is under the Mingo Family Fund.

Feeding the ducks!

Last night for family night we went down to Springville and found these little river/ponds that had a ton of ducks. We took some bread to feed them and had them right up to our feet! Austin and Owen thought they were the coolest thing ever. It was so much fun to have them come so close, they tried and tried to catch one but they wouldn't let us get quite that close! This was such a beautiful area it will make a perfect place to have our family pics taken!!

Cast

Austin finally got his huge club foot off about a week ago. This thing got so HUGE I can't believe he could even carry it anymore. He was so active on it he kept putting holes in the bottom of it, so every time we had a doctor appt. they would wrap more and more stuff around it. It looks bad all dirty and with two diffrernt colors of green they ran out of the right color after wrapping it so many times! He is doing great on it now, he only favored it for a few days and then was back to running and playing . It doesn't seem like anything will slow this kid down!

Austin's 4th Birthday!!

I can't even believe that Austin is already 4 years old, where does the time go. He wanted to have a Batman party and take all of his friends to Jump on it. Everyone ran around and had lots of fun, and then we came back to our house for hot dogs, cake and ice cream and gifts! Austin had a lot of fun with all of his friends. Lets just hope that now he will start to grow out of the sassy attitude he likes to share with us!!

Everyone checking out what the Easter Bunny brought
Owen loved to stir the eggs
Austin helping get the eggs ready to cook
The new bubble gun
Owen loved his Thomas ball!!
I'm not very good at keeping up with this thing or what goes on in our lives! We have been so busy the past few weeks I feel like maybe things are going to slow down a little bit. This was our Easter the kids had so much fun! We went to the city park and did the Easter egg hunt on Saturday. This was a new experience for all of us we have never taken our kids to one. There were a TON of kids there so Clay and I had to kinda push people aside for the kids!! They had a blast though so I am glad we took them. On Sunday the kids woke up and were so excited to see that the Easter Bunny had really come, and he even hid eggs and candy around the house. Later that day Cole and Alex came down for dinner, we are so glad that they are moving closer to us so we can have many more get together's!!

Disney on Ice

We had so much fun last night watching Disney on Ice!! It was called Micky and Minni's magical adventure, so they had four different Disney storys. There was The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Lelo and Stich, and the Lion King. We found tickets that were right off the ice so we could see everything really well. The kids loved it, Austin thought we were at the Disney chanel!!! I'm so glad that I found tickets for such a good deal and that we were able go

Going Potty!!

I am so excited about this little story I thought I would share... so we just get done eating dinner and Owen says" mom I go pee" and he was headed for the bathroom. So I followed him to the bathroom to make sure he wasn't just going in there to throw things in the toilet and watch them go "swish"!! Along the way to the bathroom he had taken off his diaper and jumped right up onto the toilet... after a few cute little grunts he started to tinkle, he could only get a little bit out at a time cause he was too busy saying " I did it mommy look"!! He is so excited to be big and doing the same things as Austin! It really helps that he looks up to Austin so much. I haven't really tried to potty train him cause he isn't even two yet, it makes me happy that he is so willing to jump up there and do it all by himself. It wont be long and he will be all the way trained!!! YEA!!

Falling out of bed

So last night around 12:30 I wake up to hear Austin screaming at the top of his lungs, coming out of a deep sleep it took me a little bit to finally figure out what was going on. I went out into the living room to find him just standing there crying and bleeding all over that place. So I picked him up and went into the kitchen where I could see a little better and saw this huge gash in his forhead....so a little confused myself I went looking to find out how this might have happened. I went into his bedroom and found blood on the floor in front of his little lamp table, I asked him if he fell out of bed and he said " no mom I just bleed all over" so he didn't even remember falling out of bed. I felt so bad for him, he was so tired and he had no idea what had just happened to him!!!
