September 6, 2013 - Down on the Farm

With the hottest days of summer behind us, the first Friday in September seemed like the perfect time to head out to the farm for some playtime and apple cider. We gathered up all the Winn cousins we could find and spent a delightful day climbing on hay bales, tractors and tires. We fed pigs, goats and chickens. We pushed strollers and swings. We pulled wagons. We counted heads over and over again, to make sure we hadn't lost anyone. It was a most delightful day!

August 20, 2013 - Sharing Birthdays! Welcome, Baby Kate!

When you are twins, you pretty much get used to sharing things from Day One. First of all you share the womb, and it goes from there. So Jolene and Kristi have been sharing a birthday forever. Then, on August 20, 2002, Annie joined our family when she and Jason got married - on the twins' birthday. On August 20, 2012, Calli Ann Winn joined Nathan and McKenzie's family - on their birthday. This year, on August 20, 2013, Katelyn Sophia Maynerich joined Loni and Jesse's family - on their birthday. So now we have FOUR birthdays and an anniversary every August 20th!! What a celebration! We are just delighted to have Baby Kate in our family.

August 10-17, 2013 - Winn Family Reunion in OBX

So what does OBX stand for? If it is on a decal in an oval on the back of a car, it means that that family has had a vacation in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It means white sand and warm blue water. It means sunshine and surf and miles and miles of shoreline to wander. It means that the entire Winn family will be together for the first time in over three years. It means 35 Winns now - that there have been ten more babies and another in-law added since the last time we were together. It means a huge house with ten bedrooms and twelve bathrooms, two kitchens, a hot tub, a pool, several decks, and a promised friend for everyone to play with. It means a week of talking and games and family pictures and kite flying and crab hunting and swimming and walking on the beach and eating and fun. It means Obedience Brings Blessings in family home evening. It means smiles. What does OBX stand for? Sweet, wonderful memories!
