Summer Fun

We have been enjoying the nice weather that finally decided to come! We have spent time fishing, which is one of Mckenzie's favorite things to do with her dad.

We have also been spending a lot of time at the splash park and playing on the toys at the park.

We had a fun 4th of July weekend. We got to spend Saturday up in Swan Valley with my family. Mckenzie was finally able to talk Grandpa into letting her ride a horse and it was the highlight of her weekend. We also got to have a picnic by the river with cousins and got to see fireworks.

On the 4th Mckenzie and I got to go to the parade with Louis's parents and his sister and her two kids (Louis had to work). Mckenzie had lots of fun and got lots of candy. I was sad that I forgot my camera. When Louis got home we took Mckenzie to ride the carousel since she has been begging Louis forever to take her.

We ended our night with a barbecue with Louis family then watching the fireworks.

A Quick Update

I don't know why, but I have been so bad at blogging. I really enjoy looking at everyone else's blog, just hate updating mine. So here's a quick update of what we've been up to lately.

April 9th Louis graduated from BYU-Idaho. I'm so proud of him and his hard work. As a graduation gift he got a .22 riffle. I don't know who was happier to get it him or Mckenzie.

When the weather has been cooperating we have been enjoying some picnics. Mckenzie loves eating outside, especially if it's by the river!

Some of our picnics have been spare of the moment and rushed to get everything ready and out the door. This specific trip I forgot to pack utensils. Oh well, we got a good laugh and took apart our tongs to use!

We've also had the chance to enjoy some time at Yellowstone National Park. Mckenzie had a blast seeing all the animals. When we got home she had to call her Grandma and Grandpa Jacobson to tell them about it. We also had to email them some pictures. For some reason she thought her Grandpa Jacobson would love to see the pictures of the animals.

(Notice the rabbit on the right. Mckenzie was very mad that I wouldn't let her get off the boardwalk and pet it.)

So funny story that goes along with this picture. I got done taking this picture and I heard Louis yell at Mckenzie to drop something. I looked over and she had picked up a chunk of buffalo poop. She quickly dropped it and Louis explained to her that it was poop she was holding. She looked at us kind of weird then said,"Sorry I thought it was a rock and I wanted to throw it".

March updates

March has been a very busy month for us so far. However, we have still managed to squeeze in some fun. The first weekend we went to West Yellowstone. It was fun to get out. However, I must say that for once in my life I was actually happy to come back to Rexburg because for once it had less snow then somewhere else. I could not believe how much snow West Yellowstone had. To be honest it was kind of depressing. This is the only picture I got because it was cold and snowing full time.

This Saturday was my birthday. For my birthday present my husband left me for the weekend! Just kidding. Friday afternoon I got a really bad migraine that put me down. That night Louis' brother called and said that him and one of their cousins was going to go fishing at Otter Creek because they heard that the spawn was on and they wanted Louis to come go with them. I would have loved to go to Utah and visit with my sister and her family while Louis went fishing, but there was no way I was going anywhere with my migraine. It would have just been very miserable. So because I couldn't ask Louis to miss out on the fun because of me I sent him on without me and Mckenzie.

Saturday morning I woke up still with my migraine, but by 11:00 it was gone. The best birthday present ever! Then to make my birthday even better my Mom and my brother Ritter surprised me and showed up at my door with pizza, cake, and ice cream. They are so sweet! After that they took me and Mckenzie to watch the movie Tangled. We choose this one because Mckenzie has never been to a movie theater and we were hoping she'd like the cartoon and behave. She absolutely loved it. She actually cried when it was over because she wanted to watch it again. It's all she has talked about for days! When Louis came home she had to tell him that Grandma and Ritter came and took her to a horsey movie. Apparently she remembers the horse in the movie the best. She's begged to go back. She asks me all the time if she can go see the horsey movie for her birthday. She then asks me if it's her birthday now. Whenever I tell her no not for a really long time she says, "Well mom let's pretend my birthday, go see movie now". So anyway all in all it was a great birthday!

The mind of a two year old

So everyone always refers to two as the terrible twos, but I think it needs to be referred to as the terrible funny twos. Yes, two year old are terrible and get into everything, but they also say some of the funniest things. It really makes me wonder what goes on in their sweet little head.

Mckenzie is such a chatter box and will talk your ear off. She never shuts up. Here some of the things she has said lately.

One day we were at my parent’s house and Mckenzie kept running around telling everyone hi. She went over and told Arlynn and Amanda hi. Amanda turned to her and said, “hola.” Mckenzie looked at her then said, “What’s that mean?”

One day we went out to eat at a Chinese restaurant. We were sitting there waiting for our food and Mckenzie farted. She quickly said, “Oh no daddy farted, daddy pooped” as loud as she could. Everyone around us was starting at us and Louis turned bright red. The things kids blame on their parents.

My brother Arlynn taught Mckenzie to walk up to my brother Ritter and pat his belly and say baby. Well now she does it to everyone that she sees including guys. In church she patted her nursery leaders belly and said baby, she's done it to me several times and now she thinks she has a baby in her belly and tells everyone about her baby.

Mckenzie was playing in her kitchen set. She said she was cooking for mommy and daddy. I said thanks you’re a good cook. She replied with yes. I then asked her what she was cooking and she said, “Water”!

Mckenzie took her socks off the other day then said, “Look mom, my nakey feet.”

The other day Mckenzie pulled up her pants so that you could see her legs then said as she rubbed her legs, “My sexy legs.” I have no idea where that came from.

Whenever I tell Mckenzie to go and do something and she doesn't want to she'll say either, "I can't my feet hurt bad." or "Mommy do it, my knees hurt bad."

Mckenzie came out of her room wearing a pirate eye patch and carrying a squirt gun. She then said, “Pappa (grandpa) shot a deer, I shot a deer, I shot an elk, Pappa just shot a deer.” Apparently she had been hunting with Grandpa and had out hunted him.

Everything any more is either "way cool" or "funny". She always keeps us laughing and is so much fun to have. We love her so much.

Here's a picture of her riding her snow dog, since she's obsessed with dogs, we had to build one instead of a snowman.

Fall happenings

On the 30th my sweet little girl turned 2. She was so much fun to watch on her birthday. She loved the whole celebration. Louis bought her doughnuts for breakfast.

She had so much fun blowing out the candles and made us light them over and over again.

Mckenzie loves the movie Beauty and the Beast so this year she had a beauty and the beast birthday.

My mom gave her this beast doll that she loves to pieces. Most little girls would be in love with Belle, but not Mckenzie she loves the Beast!

By the time it was cake time Mckenzie was already a pro at blowing out the candles and singing happy birthday. She was so funny. She made us sing happy birthday to her, her beast, and her baby doll. She was loving all the attention.

Mckenzie ended her birthday with going trick or treating. She HATED wearing her custom, but she kept it on because I told her if she took it off she wouldn't get any candy. The things she'll do for candy!

My little monkey

Lately Mckenzie has received the nicknames of monkey and spider because she is constantly climbing up things. This girl has no fears. Today she was outside riding her four-wheeler and my sister called so I was talking to her. I only took my eyes off of her for a few seconds, well apparently she got bored of having to push it with her feet because this is what I found when I looked back.

I told her to sit down because she was going to fall but of course she wouldn't listen. And what do you know a few seconds later she slipped and fell, but instead of crying like I thought she would she laughed and thought it was funny.

Wedding

Saturday my brother Arlynn got married to Amanda Dance. We are so excited to have Amanda as part of our family. They are so cute together and we look forward to building may great family memories with them.

Hiking
A few Saturdays ago we went on a hike to the lower Palisade lake with Louis' mom. It was a lot of fun. I always love hiking to the lakes. Saturday was a busy day for us so we didn't get away on our hike until later afternoon so we only made it to the lower lake. Maybe next year we'll find more time to take Louis' mom up to the upper lake since it is way more prettier then the lower one.
