Week 36 feels like Week 100
We are sooooo ready to meet our little Nacho man!
I had my 36 week appointment yesterday, he is finally head down, has the cord around his neck (yikes anxiety) and he is huge! Measuring at about 7.11 lbs, he is almost as big as Jacob was a week 38 almost 39. They have been measuring me about a week or two ahead since the begining of the pregnancy, so for all we know his is average sized for a 37 week old. I am dialated to a 1.1 cm, but my OB says it may just be due to this being my third child. I am at the cusp of having too much amniotic fluid (22ml and too much is over 24ml), so there is pleanty of space for him to move back into breeched position. Praying he stays put and doesn't further get tangled in the umblical cord. I have been reading a lot about it, and everything seems positive outlook. HOwever I am me, and I will be worrying about it till he is delivered safely.
We got some fun pictures of him from the ultrasound. Once of which he looks like a grumpy man. She was pushing on my belly so his hand would move away from his face, I don't think he liked that very much. The picutres of his face however, he is so beautiful already and I can totally see Lily from his photos. His nose is like Marks and he has such a beautiful mouth! I cannot wait to meet him.
My sweet friends Megan and Sarah threw me a babyshower last week. Some church friends, some gym friends and we just had a girls night. Just what I wanted. I didn't want a typical baby shower, being it's my third child and we have most of everything he needs. Just wanted to spend some time with my friends. It was fun and I am grateful for the sweet women in my life who show their love for me and mr. Nacho. I didn't get a picture with the gym ladies, just the dinner with my church friends.
I am so anxious for him to come, I am so tired of being pregnant. The discomfort of my girdle pain, constipation and heartburn...so over this pregnancy stuff. I worry constantly about him. I wake up in the night panicked because I have not felt him moving during the night and won't fall asleep till him moves. I hate anticipating the labor and delivery cause I am so scared of it's unpredictablilty. No birth is the same. And I know this. I pray that he and I will make it through safely and healthy. I have read too many tragic stories and people have shared too many horror stories with me for me to relax and know it will all be okay. At this point I am in a stage of 'rip the bandaid off already!' I just want to stop anticipating it and just be done with it already, no matter the outcome. It's driving me crazy. This has felt like the longest pregnancy in history! I've been having some cramps and slight pink discharge since yesterday, so hopefully in the next two weeks he will be here. Praying for safe labor, safe arrival and safe afterbirth. We will share his full name after he is born, but we've pretty much decided at this point what it will be, and it is perfect.
July 2021
So we are completing the month of July. Summer vacation is now over and the kids have returned back to school, well, Jacob started his first year of school finally. We celebrated the lamest 4th of July ever, since we are usually with family. We just parked at a local stake center and watched the fire works go off at Scnepf farms. Lets be honest, the kids could actually care less about fireworks and we had just come home from a fun trip to San Diego. So we're fine with it.
The kids started school. Mixed feelings of happiness, sadness and fear this year. Lily we all know is soooo much happier finally being in school after a whole year and a half of virtual school. She loves her new class, she's going to be learning how to play the violin and has already made the WOW board twice. She's doing awesome. First day of school, we walked the kids to the gate to join them for flag ceremony. Lily says 'alright, I know where to go, I'll see you guys later.' lol, she doesn't need us. Jacob started Kindergarten, and he needs it so bad. Finally going to school after we held him one more year due to covid uncertanty. He did a really good job the first day, did not cry or act clingy with us. We stayed for flag ceremony with him, there were a ton of kids so I'm glad we did so he wouldn't feel lost. He kept giving me a thumbs up to let me know he was okay, he gave some concerned looks to the kids who were crying probably thinking 'should I be worried'. I had to be all smiles and not let him know that I was dying inside with him starting school. Once we gave him his hug good bye, and started to walk out, then the tears were able to flow. I have peace knowing that he is where he needs to be, and I am so glad we decided to keep him till he was 6 because he could handle it alot better. However, it still hurts to not have him with me everyday. He hasn't really left my side since he was an infant. My boo boo bear has been doing so well in school so far though. He has made a new friend everyday and when I pick him up from school he is excited to tell me about his day. Lately he's been a bit more clingy when going to school, probably because his teacher is on materninty leave now and they have a sub he says is not always nice. But he will get through it. And I'm okay with the extra hugs when I drop him off. I can already tell he is learning a lot. He is identifying letters he couldn't before and doing really good with his homework each night. He is a little loud and loopy when he gets home, but I know it's due to the long days at school. Why they got to make school so dang long?! There is a new covid variant that is causing high case rates now, the Delta varriant, which concerns me with the kids being unvaxxed and returning to school. Just when we thought we were past the worst of it! This week I started having the kids wear masks again while they are in the school. But seems as for right now they are some of the only kids wearing them. Our govener refuses to make it a mandate in schools dispite the fact that kids can't get vaxxed. I hate how politicized this pandemic is. It's not about following health officials, it's about following whatever dumb political party you follow. I for one will follow whatever the health officials say we should do, I'm not putting my families health in the hands of politicians. Anyways...Fingers crossed that we continue to be safe from covid, would hate for any of my babies to have to indure that kind of illness among others.
Aside from that, I got to have a couple mom/daughter, mom/son dates with the kids the week before school started. Just some one on one time before Mr. Nacho enters into our world. Took Jacob to Walmart to pick out a toy and Weiner scnetzel which he loves. So fund to talk to him and laugh at random things. He is getting older and it is so fun to get to know him and his fun personality. Love him so incredibly much! Lily and I went school shopping and frozen yogurt. She is definitly getting her own unique style in clothing and interests. She is such an amazing girl, so full of wisdom and confidence. We have some pretty in depth convo's about life and how/why things are the way they are. She is so funny and so optimistic, I wish I could be like her. Love her so dang much! Mark and I truly are blessed to have such amazing children. Can't wait to see how amazing our little Nacho will be.
We also have been having monsoon rains almost everyday the past few weeks. One of the storms we had was the worst we've ever seen. You could hear the rain start, Mark had to go outside to get our garbage cans, when we opened the door the wind was hitting so crazy hard I thought mark would get blown away! We looked out the window at the storm and the windows were starting to bow inwards, it was crazy. We lost several large branches from our front tree and it almost took the trampoline, good thing nailed it to the ground last month. The neighborhood had lots of large trees down causing damage and trampolines randomly disperard around the neighborhood. They say it may have been a tornado, but all I know is it was crazy. Monsoons are so fun, but also unpredictable. They cause flash floods, which recently took the life of a four year old girl whose family got stuck in their car during a flash flood. Somehow, the little girl was lost in the water. So so sad. I'm sure we will have more monsoons this season, which is awesome because the land needed all the rain.
We got a new washer/dryer and refridgerator. While we were cleaning behind the dryer we found a scorpion for the first time ever in our house after 4 years of living here! My world was rocked, and now I'm shaking and checking everything in the house. Yuck! It climbed onto the wall and Mark and I were talking about how to kill it for like 5 min when it fell to the ground making it easier for Mark to smash it with its shoe. I can imagine the poor scorpion thinking 'are these people going to kill me or what?!' And then gave up and fell to make it easier for us. lol. Glad to have new appliances, waiting till the fall to get the new floors and turf in the backyard. I was orgnaizing our room and putting away the things for Nacho. I am getting so anxious for this boy to come! So done with being pregnant, but that's for another post.

June 2021
What a busy month it has been! We had mine and Jacobs birthdays, Mark and I traveled to the Oregon Coast for a babymoon before Nacho comes and we had a little family vacation to San Diego before the kids start school in a couple weeks. The next month will be hanging low and prepping for the arrival of mr. Nachicho, and I think I'm looking forward to things being chill for a little while. I am NOT ready however for my little sweeties to go back to school! Gosh I'm going to miss them everyday.
Anyways, Jacob turned 6! We tried to make his birthday as special as possible, especially since he's been planning it since his 5th birthday. We had a little birthday party with friends at Fat Cats. We took them to see Peter Rabbit 2, and played archade games and ate pizza after. It was so fun to have all his closest little friends, and Lily's too, together again for some fun. They have not been able to get together very much due to their friends being in school and Lily doing homeschool. Then we went to Tucson so the rest of the Arizona family members could celebrate little Jacob. We went to play arcade games, breakfast and he even got his request for a Piggy Roblox Strawberru cake, which was actually fun to decorate. He got all the presents and more that he wanted and is offically spoiled rotten. We love our sweet little Jacob so much. He has been hilarious lately with some of the things he says, I need to be better about writing them down. Lately he likes to pretend he is a coffee drinker and asks for it in the morning. lol! He loves with all his heart to the point that he feels actual pain saying goodby to others. He says some pretty crazy stuff with his wild imagination and wants to be a horror story writer someday, but he is actually the most sensitive, kind hearted kid you will ever know. He is my special boo bear, loves to say he wants to marry me someday and tries to sneak kisses all the time. He is seriously mamas boy, and I am totally here for it! I love him so stinking much and he is going to make the best big brother! Happy Birthday my beautiful boy!
Then we went to San Diego when we got back with the kids so they could get a little vacation too. When we arrived to San Diego we visited La Jolla cove, which we'd never been to, and looked at the Seals and Sea lions. Jacob named the big sea lion 'big chungus' and we sawa little family with pups, so cute! Then had some yummy bbq from our favorite place, Phils bbq at the hotel, it was nice to have a little kitchen in the room! We spent day2 at Coronado beach where they boogie boarded and surfed all day. We got really sun burnt, but it was totally worth it! Coronado beach was our favorite, we even found a huge clam in the water! The weather was perfect, and the water felt great to swim in. We had a blast. Then we went to Corvet diner for dinner and games. The kids had a great time and I was surprised how much Mark and I enjoyed it too. Day 3 we swam in the morning at the hotel while mark worked and then off to La Jolla shores, we got some mexican seafood tacos and milk popsicle s to enjoy at the beach and continued with the boogie board/body boarding time. We also searched for sand crabs (Chanchitos) and I made the kids hold them which grossed them out at first and then they enjoyed it. Gelato, walking around the shops were all part of the fun too, but the star was the beach. We will need to do this every years. Day 4 we had breakfast with Aunt Lynn and walked around balboa park enjoying the art and vendors before heading back to AZ. We had a wonderful time with lots of fun memories made.
My birthday was wonderful, 37 now...wow. We had breakfast at Hen House, Swimming at the club, arcade games at fatcats and deep dish pizza and Pazookie at Oreganos. It was a perfect day spent with my favorite people on this earth. I love my little family.
We are now ready to begin preparing for his majesty, mr. Nacho. Had an appointmen last week to see how he is growing. Still got a big head (96-98 percentile) and body in the 76th percentile. He's a big boy...at least that's what the doctor always tells me. He is estimated to weigh about 4.14 lbs as of now. Overall they say he looks healthy, I got some pics, but he was cuddling with the placenta so they truned out funky. HE IS STILL BREACHED! Please please let him turn before I go into labor. I do not want to have a c-section! I am going to be doing a lot of yoga the next few weeks for him to turn. He has hiccups all the time (3-5 times per day) which freak me out. but i remember Jacob being the same way. His movements are getting stronger, which hurt sometimes, but I smile thru the pain. I feel huge lateley! I know I've gained more weight then I should, I am staying active and eating healthy so I'm just going to blame it on him and his big baby head. We think we may have a name in mind, but won't reveal till he's here. I have another ultrasound in three weeks, so hopefully he will no longer be breeched. We love him so much already and can't wait for his arrival next month. Just please, let us make it healthy and sound!
(Trying to post about Oregon, blogger is driving me nuts.)
Mark and I had a blast in Oregon together. We visited my old neighborhood, the elementary school, took him to the house I grew up in and took him around some of my favorite sposts downtown like the water front and Pittock Mansion. He was amazed by all of the green and loved all the bridges along the waterfront. It was hard sharing stories and seeing how much everything has changed from what I remember. The city has been run down due to riots and lots of homeless, which is sad, it used to be SO beautiful and full of life there. My neighborhood and town of Tualatin is almost un recognizable to me. lots of new businesses and the trees have grown so much, it looked so different, but still so beautiful. Even my old house is totally different, however the purgala my abuelito made for my mom is still up in the back yard and holding strong. We then went to Lincoln City where we stayed at an AirBNB and it was the cutest little cottage by the beach. We went to a bunch of beaches, walked around, ate lot of seafood every day we were there (honestly crab in every meal of the day). We drove up to Tillamook for some icecream at the creamery (that has changed a ton too) and went to my favorite beach in Ocean Side. It was just so beautiful. I miss that beauty so much. We visited a lighthouse and the aquarium. It was a short four days, Next year we will need to take the kids and stay longer. When we drove back to portland to catch our flight, they were having some of their hottest temps ever, 113! It was the same as Phoenix, but so much hotter because of the humidity. We drove around a Tesla to try it out, it was a different experience, but fun to try something new. Mark and I kept saying to eachother how wonderful our vacation was, It truly was the best with the one I love.
