The Royal Wedding - I was there!

Well sort of......I watched it live  - from 4:00 am to  the balcony kisses -   and thats more than I can say for anyone else I know.     Instead of getting up early, I just stayed up and got some computer work done

It was fabulous!   The hats that the women guests wore were phenomenal...I saw Prince Charles wipe his nose and then shake hands with the archbishop...I saw Elton John hardly open his mouth to sing... and  saw  Fergie's daughters behind the Queen, without their mother (she was not invited).

I watched the Diana and Charles wedding in the middle of the night 30? years ago.when we lived in Colorado...but I don't think I will do the same the Will and Kate's firstborn in another 30 years....too tired today. I used to fantasize about going to a tea party at Buckingham. Although that will never happen, I did have a date to accompany Prince Charles and Princess Ann while in Winnipeg in 1970 that was cancelled. They only went as far as Churchill in the north and then went home. Sigh! What a great story that would have been.

Stophorst - VERY traditional old Dutch town

Well I just got back from another trip to Holland and I still haven't posted the rest of the photos from the trip last spring. I had to add these photos though. We drove way up to this quaint, old fashioned town that is really Old Holland. It would be comparable to the amish here possibly. They do NOT like having their photos taken and they are  religiously, very strict.

We were there on a Sunday afternoon. We drove around and stopped when I saw picturesque places...

Look at the Clog holder....everything was SO neat and clean and organized/ It's one of those towns that make you wonder if National Geographic has ever photographed it and wrote about it.

We wondered where everyone was.....and then church got out and the whole town came walking up the street to their homes. I kept my camera down low and took photos as I was pretending to be looking elsewhere. They were soooo interesting.

This old frou didn't look too pleased with me.

Now look at their shoes and the buckles, very Pilgrim -y. And look at the Bible holders in their hands.
