Sushi

Can I just tell you how bad I have been CRAVING sushi since I have been pregnant??! It's torture whenever I see it on TV or even think about it. I know my Dr. said to stay clear of it, but what about all the women in other countries who eat stuff like that through their entire pregnancy? Oh my gosh, we walked through AJ's the other day and past the sushi counter and I could hardly control myself! It smells SO good!

It will be the first thing I eat when I have this baby... Sushi countdown, approximately 5 more months... I can do it!

I love Jury Duty

Ok, I said it! I do. Please don't judge me. I didn't think I did until I was on a trial and forced to be off for 4 days from work. Well, ok once I got over the immediate stress of getting a weeks worth of sub plans together and realized what this meant...
~I didn't have to be there until 10:30 everyday. (I should have been sold on the idea at that moment)
~I didn't have to talk much... I was not allowed to talk much. I don't have many oppertunities to be this way and I ended up really enjoying it in a strange way.
~It was VERY interesting to see the justice system up close and personal.
There were many other reasons why I really enjoyed jury duty...
But most importantly, it made me see first hand what I teach in my classroom.

4.0

After finishing a 19 credit semester (thats 6 classes) Loni has yet ANOTHER 4.0 semester under his belt!!! What a handsome smarty pants!!! :) Good job honey!!!

The Christmas Riddle

SO, my boss was doing this Christmas riddle all week and my competitive nature really came out in full force!

Clue Number 1: Nominal addition - in the 90's

Clue Number 2: Common to Winnie and Mohandas

Clue Number 3: Not Roger

Clue Number 4: Noted by Alan

Clue Number 5: A portion: rhyming headgear

So... I had NO clue!!! But I REALLY wanted to win!

Thanks to Google and a lot of luck on my side I was the winner!!! I beat EVERY other teacher at my school!!! :)

I went up to claim my prize... everyone was up there trying to ask me what the answer was and how I figured it out... Luckily my boss was there to explain it all because I had NOT a clue!!! LOL
So, she hands me an envelope that says Nordstrom :) and I get really excited. I open it and it is a $100 gift card!! At that moment I was grateful for my competitive nature :)

By the way, the answer was Natal (it was this guys name in Portuguese which means Christmas). Don't ask me how it all ties together!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Being that is Thanksgiving, I had my student's make lists of the things in which they are thankful for. I took that time to make my own list as well...

Some things that I got from the group of 9 year olds were, "I am thankful for my video games." "I am thankful for my pets." and my favorite... "I am thankful for my teacher." :)

My list ended up covering both sides of the page (I have A LOT to be thankful for!!!) so, I will spare you and just list a few of my favorites...

I am thankful for...
The GOSPEL
My smart, loving, supportive, Hardworking, loving HUSBAND
My PARENTS who are wonderful examples to me
My PARENT-IN-LAWS who love me unconditionally
FAMILY
FRIENDS
EDUCATION
My CAREER
TRAVEL
BEAUTY of my surroundings
HOME
CAR
TRIALS to make me strong
OPTIMISM to help me survive the trials
LAUGHTER
FREEDOM
LOVE

The list could go on and on... But my goal is to not only think of the things I am thankful for only on Thanksgiving, but to take a minute out of every day to remember all of my MANY blessings!!

Gilbert Days Parade

Jacob is So cute!!!

At the end of the LONG walk!

So today was the Gilbert Days Parade. My Grandma's family opened Waston's Flower Shop on Main St in Mesa a long long time ago. It has been a family tradition to make a float and the kids of a certain age get to ride on it... Two of my brother's kids were on it this year, Josh and Abby (the twins). They are so cute!!! The theme was patriotism so they are all red, white and blue...
I ran along with the float passing out flowers as usual... Loni pointed out that is has been 20 years since I had my time to ride on the float! Someday there will be a little Unga on the Watson's float! :)
