A Good Day!
Today was a pretty good day. I woke up early and my baby was still sleeping so I decided to look for some stuff for school. I am sure that every teacher has dreams about their upcoming class. I keep thinking about next year. How will my students be and on and on. When Alyssa woke up I quickly feed her. Then we were kinda lazy and didn't do much. Then Gary came home and we took a nap. Gary usually gets home pretty early, but today he got home at 2:00 pm. He usually gets home about 1:00pm. When we woke up from our naps, I was telling Gary that it's funny how if he's home, Alyssa stops eating and looks directly at him. Then she'll eat and then stop this continues for about 5-10 minutes. While I was telling him this, Alyssa starts laughing. Her laugh is so contagious. If she's laughing, we are all laughing. I thought man I sure missed out on the joys of having children until now. Later we took a walk-well we roller bladed. I am not the best roller blader in the world. Perhaps, because I never had roller blades until I got married. After not roller bladding for awhile, it's quite hilarious to watch me now. I didn't fall, but I did have to have Gary help me(to prevent me from falling). I didn't realize how much our roads in our comunity slope. A family seen us roller blading and then realized they had a stroller that had hand breaks. We will probably get the jogging stroller for really cheap! Alyssa also rolled over today both ways. She has been rolling over, but just one way. I keep thinking, I need to have my house super clean. It's amazing how much we love our little Alyssa.

Good News!
A couple weeks ago I took Alyssa in for an ultra sound on her kidneys. The results were that she's fine. That is such a blessing to have a healthy daughter.

blessings of being a member
I am so grateful to be a member of our church. After a very frustrating day, I finally asked Gary to give me a blessing along with Alyssa. Afterwards, She calmed down and ate better. Earlier she screamed and wouldn't nurse. I am grateful for a righteous husband! Being a mom is a wonderful, but trying adventure. I am also so greatful for our parents that can give us advice and make us feel like we can do hard things!

Another Dr. Appointment
Finally, she is gaining some weight. I looked at Alyssa yesterday and I thought I think she is starting to get a little more cubby on her legs. I was right. Eventhough she is back at her birth weight, I am grateful for her weight gain. Prayer helps. We have been praying for her and I know others have as well. Hopefully she'll continue to gain weight. I am starting to get a little bit scared about going back to work. I hope that I'll have enough milk so that she will be able to continue getting the nutrients that she needs. I also am excited to go back and see my students. I love teaching, well most days. I am looking forward to teaching Alyssa all kinds of things as well. I just want to raise a righteous daughter.

Alyssa's Dr. Appointment
Well, I had to take Alyssa to the doctor again today. At our last appointment she had lost weight and weighed 6lbs 10 oz. I couldn't believe it. She seems like she is growing and developing just fine to me. Then they had me lay her on the scale. She has only gained one ounce. In the hospital I mentioned to the doctor that she had something on her ear that didn't seem right. She assured me not to worry, but then today she seemed a little concerned. She said that if Alyssa doesn't gain enough weight by the next appointment that we'd have to have her kidney checked out. Being the worrier that I am, I am hoping that everything will be okay. So now we have been instructed to give her my milk and then give her formula. The doctor is hoping that this will at least help her to gain more weight. Then I guess we'll go from there to see if her kidneys and ear is okay. On the bright side, her jaundice is starting to go away. The doctor did say that she seemed more pink today than last time. I hope that everything is good before I go back to work. I never thought that I'd say this, but it would just be nice to stay home with my precious baby girl and not ever have to go back to work. I know that is unrealistic at this time, but hopefully some day I'll get to be a stay at home mommy.

She's Here!
Our baby girl has arrived! We named her Alyssa Taylor Sanders. After much debate on what to choose for a middle name, we finally said Taylor. She has tons of dark brown hair. She weighed 7lbs 6 oz. and was 20 inches long. She was born on 3/12/09 at 2:40am.(I'm not a morning person, but I guess babies can't wait to come.) 3/12 is my dad's birthday. He now shares his special day with her. We think she's pretty special.

She's coming!
I went to the doctor today. She said that our baby girl should be here soon. I have tried to sit down more at work, but I have such a hard time teaching by just sitting down. According to my doctor, I should have our baby girl within the next week. I'm not ready for that as far as school goes, so tonight I'll be spending most of my time doing lesson plans.
