Another set of little hands and little feet

I was pregnant with a few women, and the babies are now arriving. Tim and LaDonna had Allen in October, Shane and Erika had Ethan December 1st, I had Lael December 6th and now...

Travis and Amy welcomed Halle Brooke yesterday evening. Congratulations you guys! Amy, I can't wait to talk to you, but I gather through Travis and Amanda that it was a wonderful problem-free labor and delivery. Prayers anwsered! We love you guys and can't wait to meet her. Congratulations, also, to big sisters Amanda and Chloe!

We came home today from the hospital. All is well and I'll make sure to post more details and hopefully some pictures on the fadely.net site soon. She is gorgeous and we just can't stop looking at her and thanking God for the amazing blessings He has sent our way.

Wednesday was a pretty rough day. Dean's illness was really hanging on and his fever was rising and becoming non-responsive to fever-reducers like Tylenol and Motrin. So, I took him to the doctor and a series of tests began because he was showing no signs of anything that might warrant such a high fever. Ears were perfect. Throat looked fine. Rapid Strep came up negitive. It seemed to be just a pesky cough with some congestion and this horrible fever of nearly 104. The day included his blood being drawn, his urine being collected (two cath. attempts and two collection bags later!), a chest x-ray (a trip to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital), and lots of cuddles and tears. All doctors and technicians were fabulous and he is now feeling better (if you are anywhere near Nashville and have children- Vandy is *the place* to go). Apparently he has/had an early form of pnemonia that is not contagious and is responsive to Augmentin antibiotics. A few hours after his first dose, his fever dropped and has now stayed away. I thank God that it was nothing too serious, that this all took place before I went into labor, and that we are a realitively healthy family that doesn't routinely see hospitals and doctor's offices. I think this is only the second time Dean's ever been on medicin. We're very blessed.

Speaking of doctors- I went for my OB check-up yesterday and I am now at a "very good three". The baby's head is "right there" and it "shouldn't be much longer" according to Dr. B. That was as much predicting as he was willing to do, but it sounds like it would be a big surprise if I was past due. Very encouraging.
