A Doctor & A Lawyer

After nearly 4 months of waiting, the bar results were available online last night at 6:00 pm. (yes, the bar results were posted on our anniversary, lovely, I know)  I called John at 5:55 pm to see how close he was to home.  He was close, very close, like 3 blocks away.  He said the car needed gas and asked if he should fill up.  Being very anxious to get the results I laughed at his joke and answered no.  7 minutes later he still wasn't home.  He actually went to get gas then proceeded to wash the windows.  "You're killling me smalls!"  The past 3.5 years of his/our life have been devoted to the schooling, the studying, the bar and now the moment was here...was it enough?

Yes it was!
Good work John, I am so proud of you!

We Is Good

Five years ago today I showed up 45 minutes late to the temple (thank you 405 freeway), my bustle broke right before the ceremony, we were 30 minutes late to our reception (darn you 5 freeway) where our wedding cake never showed up. But none of it mattered. Nothing could ruin the day because I got to marry John.
Best decision of my life.

L.A. County Fair

Cohen is napping so I'm using my glorious alone time to be productive, you know by blogging.
Here was an actual family outing we went on back in September. This was my first time attending the L.A. county fair. not bad, not bad.
Cohen loves his dad, I do too
One of the main reasons if not the reason to go to the fair is for the food. We couldn't resist the caramel apple dipped in white chocolate sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. We may or may not have purchased two during our fair visit.

Every time I took the apple away he would scream. Both funny and annoying.

Two rights can make a wrong...

Now if it was chocolate dipped bacon wrapped in bacon I would have bought it because anything wrapped in bacon is good.

This was one of the table settings entered in a competition. It was a mini emerald city, very clever indeed, even the salt was green. *sidenote, I am amazed at how many competitions they have; pies, bread, cookies, costumes, quilting, christmas tree decorating. the list goes on and on.*

Thank you random passer by who volunteered to take our picture so it didn't look like a myspace/facebook profile picture, we'll forgive you for the blurryness.

The Past 3 Months of His Life

So much for documenting Cohen month by month. It's so sad that I'm already slacking with my first child, at this rate my last kid will be lucky if I take any pictures of them and/or remember their name. Nevertheless here is my lame attempt to record the past 3.5 months of Cohen's life.

At the L.A. county fair (in August or was it September?). I intend to make it its own post but who are we kidding given my track record this is as good as it is going to get.

After a bath

Cohen:
  • is very vocal. He likes to talk to people.
  • sleeps through the night consistently (5.5 months)
  • crawls as of 10/3/09 (7.5 months) and is fast. He is mobile and gets into everything, his favorites being the trash can, my piano music, and taking off all the books on the book shelf.
  • He has two crawls: One for carpet and another wood/slippery floors.
  • gives high 5's
  • gives open mouth kisses on command
  • pulls himself up on everything; couches, piano bench, doors, walls etc. and will walk along with support (8 months)
  • has 4 teeth (8 months)
  • Eats baby food. He loved all the veggies until we introduced fruits. He no longer is a fan of peas or green beans. He could eats puffs or as we call them stars all day if allowed. He likes table food too. So far he has had bananas, green beans, rice, black beans, crackers, fishies. This does not include all the popsicles, ice cream, and other food his aunts and grandparents like to sneak him. No wonder the kid won't eat green beans!
  • He is weening himself, sadly. There are just too many exciting things he is missing out on by nursing.
  • He is very curious
  • Understands some signs and is now signing 'more'

At Sea World

Yes, he is playing the piano. Right now he is working on a piece by Debussy called Clair de lune.

O happy day

Halloween 2009

Festive Digs

This weekend a life long dream of mine was realised when I dressed up as my childhood heroin and all time favorite movie character, Mary Poppins. I was able to convince John to follow suit and be Bert, the chimney sweep. Cohen was a penguin, (you know the sidewalk chalk scene where they dance with penguins). I loved dressing up, the only way to describe it is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

my costume is Practically Perfect in every way

Mornin Gov'nuh

John insisted on speaking with a horrible cockney accent. Sadly it was still better than Dick Van Dyke's.
