A New Hobby

For our wards super Saturday we could choose several things to do.  I wanted to learn to crochet for a Personal Progress goal.  These are definitely not perfect rows are not exactly straight.  But I plan to continue to practice as we travel in the car and hopefully get better.  It was fun to learn something new!

Halloween

Warren loved Trick-Or-Treating!  Do you think Grandma has treats at her house?

These are our costumes.... I had a lot of fun making their costumes this year.  I thought we could use them as pajamas for the rest of the year.  I was worried a few times that Warren wasn't going to take to his costume, because every time I tried to try it on him he would run away.  Then a few days before Halloween he wanted to be a hot dog, a dinosaur, and last but not least Tarzan.  The next day he wanted to be Robin Hood. I made Logan's cape for Super Elmo first and it took part of the day to figure it out.  I thought Warren's would come together much faster, boy was I wrong.  I couldn't get the pleats how I wanted them and then the bias tape that I put along the top of the cape was unpicked, sewed, unpicked, sewed, unpicked, re-cut, sewed, unpicked.... I am grateful that we finally got it together and finally decided that he will love it no matter how it turns out.  So, after all the worries but knowing in the back of my mind that he would love it... I wondered too if it was worth the time and then he tried on his hat and I knew that it was definitely worth it, next the cape, one of those VISA moments, priceless, and finally the shirt and pants an early birthday present for me.  I let him wear it as pajamas that night and the next day he ran around the house being Super Grover, if it hadn't got in time out and dirty I am sure he would have worn it again.  I am excited to wash the clothes so I can see him fly around the house again.  I also need to grab a solo photo of Logan if he'll cooperate.

The Beard

Kyle has been growing out his beard since mid July.  These are the final minutes of all his hard work.

This is Logan's reaction to his father's cleanly shaven face.
priceless....

Mine :)

Maybe, when you are much, much, older and your hair is snowy white, you can wear a suit that's red and ride around town spreading Christmas Cheer.

Happy Birthday Logan

Happy Birthday to our sweet boy Logan!  Usually Logan wakes up before Warren does so we decided to give him a present in the morning so that he would have a chance to play with it before he had to share.  He had a great time.  When Warren woke up I blew up some balloons for Logan to play with so he could enjoy another toy while Warren played with Logan's.  They both were entertained.  I made a special # 1 pancake for Logan.  We thought it would be fun to take advantage of Fall Break/UEA weekend and invite the cousins down to play at one of the parks.  They had a great time together it was fun to see them play together.  After dinner Kyle provided for us we had cake and Logan slowly went to town.  Warren wondered about how messy he was.... After a quick clean up of Logan we opened another gift for him.  Warren was a great helper.  We put a timer on so Logan could explore his toy by himself for a few minutes and sang songs with Warren to pass the time.  They both had fun exploring the toys and sharing... Sharing can be exhausting....at times.  I am grateful that Kyle could be home for the day it was great!  We are so thankful that Logan is in our family. He is a delight!

On Saturday we went to the air show in Spanish Fork.  Prior to going Warren would ask if he could fly on the plane.  I would tell him we might be able to sit in one, but probably not fly in one.  When we got there he would not get on the plane or the mall train.  However, now that I think about it that is pretty typical of him. When he is in unfamiliar places/situations he usually likes to check things out and then eventually he will explore.  He eventually decided that he wanted to go on the train and he loved it so did Logan.  Warren wanted to go again.  Luckily there was another train that he could go on to ring the bell and make the whistle go.  They tried out a plane and a mini helicopter.  His favorite was the fire truck that was there.  Logan loved exploring all plane, helicopter, and fire truck too.  At the very end of the show that they had going on there too we saw some sky divers.  It was fun to see them do their tricks.  I thought to myself someday I will go sky diving that would be awesome.  Pictures to be posted later.

September Happenings

Happy Birthday to Kyle!!  He turned the ripe young age of 32.  He has also been growing a beard and looks like a regular mountaineer/pioneer.

I finished a YW project by making some cute aprons for the nursery.  I can't wait to get a picture of the kids in them.  I also finished memorizing The Living Christ.  Now on to other projects and Halloween costumes.

Warren is quite the "silly goose" as he calls us or himself and surprises me every day.  I love my Buddy-O.  Today he noticed that dog and frog sound the same.  He loves trains, to tell people that he is 3, what he wants for his birthday, and that he wants a train, motorcycle and a helicopter on his cake.

Logan is cruising everywhere.  He loves to climb in and out of Warren's bed and he LOVES, LOVES his toothbrush and anyone else's he can get a handle on.  He loves to growl, greet you with a loving slap on the head and to chase his brother .

Ready, Set, Go!!!

Logan took his first steps on the 16th of this month.  He is now getting a little more confident and tonight he was starting to cruise halfway across the room.  It was so fun to watch.

Johnson Family Reunion Time

We went camping up American Fork Canyon for our reunion this past week.  We had a great time!  Logan loved playing in the dirt, bowls make great camp side baths.

We went on a hike one day.  On the way down the mountain Warren wanted us to sing the "Big Black Train" song.  When it came to the choo, choo part of the song he made sure that we were all pulling our whistles.

One the way down the mountain grandpa caught the one eyed Peter Cottontail.

Looking forward to next year.
