Medic Aaron Winston

We pick Aaron up at the airport tonight at 10:32!!! We're excited to have him home. Grandpa and Uncle Brad and Aunt Paula were able to spend some time with him in San Antonio and see him graduate - apparently with quite a few honors! We'll brag later.

Bye, bye Kira

It has been great fun having Kira home this summer. She probably felt like she spent most of her waking hours (and some she normally would have been sleeping!) at Taco Bell, but we're glad she was home for a bit. GOOD LUCK AT BYU!!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

It's GRAND

A baby grand...black and shiny and beautiful! My new piano, I love it!

!!! UPDATE September 24, 2010 UPDATE !!!

Out with the old.

 In with the NEW!

The whole family had problems with Mom getting rid of part of the family, the old Kawai Piano. Luckily, Nathan and Andrea saved it. It is now in it's new home, around the corner and in the room off of the family room! ...waiting for Nathan and Andrea to take it when they have a more permanent place of residence.

Happy New Year

Well, I should make it a New Year's resolution to update more often - but why start the year with failure? I got a new camera and maybe that will help, but maybe not. Regardless - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Thanks Giving (quick - before the months over!)

Figured I better get this in before November slipped from my grasp. What a wonderful time of year to reflect on my many blessings!!! I have a wonderful eternal sweetheart, fantastic supportive children, the best daughter-in-laws I could ever choose, and darling grandchildren. Thank you so much for your love and support this last month. Each of you brought your special brand of comfort that I so desperately needed. Great - I've already used two tissues and haven't even finished a paragraph yet. Anyway, Thanks. It was so fun to see everyone - even though the circumstances were sad. Luckily, FAMILIES ARE FOREVER!!! Means even more to me now. You're the best.

Two in a month - Oh, my!

So, hello family! We had a special stake conference yesterday - our regular one was just a couple of weeks ago. Aaron had a fireside with Elder Bednar and Caity had one with Elder Rosband of the Seventy Saturday night. Both were excellent, according to our listeners. Dad and I drove someone elses van to the youth fireside with 10 lively Beehive girls. I warned Dad about the possible noise overload, but the van seemed to absorb a lot of the noise. We dropped them off and went out to eat - Chinese, of course.

Sunday, I went early with Sheri to get a seat, and though we were an hour early, the Chapel was full. I headed to the Relief Society room for softer seats! We had Elder Rosband - Bednar went to West Stake. He said that the reason they were there was because the Twelve had done a study and figured out that if one of the apostles were to visit a stake every week, it would take 26 years to visit them all. So they came up with the plan to hold regional meetings with the Stake presidents and bishops. I believe there were 16 stakes in Saturdays training meetings. This way, the twelve can visit/train with every stake presidency in four years. Quite a difference!

Elder Rosband mainly talked about the importance of families. It got me thinking about what great kids and daughter in laws we have. (grandbabies, too) I LOVE YOU!

Our meeting started at 9:00 instead of our usual ward time of 1:00. Left us a whole day open. That was different. I ended up taking a long nap. Felt GREAT! Lazy, but great.

Have a great week!

It's About Time, Isn't It?

Okay, enough flak about having a blog and never updating it!

Wasn't conference wonderful? It always goes by so quickly. I must be a grown up - I remember as a child it lasting forever....although we did get to play Barbies all day long! Boys - Remember taking Legos to the church and playing with them during the Saturday session, or popping over after soccer games to catch part of a session? It was so nice to be able to watch it from my own home (sitting in my new recliner!!!). Actually, I only sat for Sunday's session. Saturday I painted the master bathroom - just the same color as the bedroom - and painted a little on a wall that Dad needs to finish fixing. I just painted AROUND the part he needs to fix. It was driving me nuts! And yes. I actually painted it myself! I also rearranged some furniture (remember the the new furniture) and cleaned bathrooms (YUK). A VERY productive general conference, I must say.

Caity got rained out of the finals at her band competition in the Tri-Cities. She got home about 1:30 am Sunday morning. She is really good! I was so impressed. She knows what she is doing, is very graceful and cute as a bug!

I'm jealous that I wasn't in SLC to join the party with Nathan & Andrea, Jared & Amanda & Ella, and Kira. Sounds like you had fun! Even Sheri got to see Nathan and Kira. ( She called to gloat!!)

Aaron was in Seattle for the weekend with his friends Mike, Carrie, and Elizabeth. I-90 was closed by Moses Lake for a 30 mile stretch due to high winds and blowing dust so they had to take a detour on the way home. The winds were unbelievable for a day and a night. Even too windy for Nathan's kite, I'm sure. It wrecked our back gate. Dad so loves fixing things!

Unless we win the lottery or something - which is really impossible since I've never bought a ticket - I guess I'll continue to put the more mundane parts of my life on the blog.
