I love a rainy night

I L.O.V.E . rain.
Rain makes me sentimental and weepy. Not sad weepy, touched weepy.
  • When my sweetheart prepare breakfast and packed my lunch this morning...weepy on the way to work just thinking about it.
  • Thinking about Cole with his very sore sty in the eye that makes him look like Yoda...weepy
  • Cade coming in the middle of the night after wetting his bed (again!). After he cleaned himself up...by himself in the dark. Weepy my little baby is big enough to take care of himself but small enough to still need me to comfort him. And I do love comforting him...weepy
  • Sitting, listening to my tenderhearted 6th graders tutor the darling second graders. They are kind, patient, and helpful...weepy
Rain makes everything quite. Sort of slows every thing down. I get all introspective and ...weepy. What can I say? When I am touched by something I get teary eyed and tenderhearted. My tough girl image is all an act! (not that I fooled you!)
(besides it makes the light spectacular!)

I love rain! Do you?

***Post Script*** and then it snowed...a lot. Now its melted and sunny. I love the crazy weather here! Always something new :)

My Love

neil...
he's got my heart.
i love him.
there are many reasons why but mostly because he is the father to my boys and a tremendous one at that. he is silly with them. and in turn silly with me. i love how patient and kind he is with all of us.
sometimes i need to remember that when he takes care of me, takes care of the boys, or takes care of the home...these are gestures of love. i love feeling taken care of.
yesterday, neil did laundry, changed the linens on our bed (he always does, its a heavy mattress), remade cade's bed, vacuumed, and grilled some awesome garlic chicken.
he loves me and i love him...perfect!

Love is in the air!

awww Sunday morning bedhead...who wouldn't want to be their Valentine?
(photo taken on my computer's webcam...where is that camera?)

Oh to be young and innocent!
Valentine's Day still makes my boys squirm. They think it is so weird and "forced".
I, on the other hand, LOVE Valentine's Day!
I hope by the time they have girlfriends they will change their mind and embrace the day where PDA is romantic. (because any other day PDA is gross!)

discussion and prep for LOVE day:
Cole: Mom, the girls are saying Elizabeth likes me. I DO NOT!!!! If I give her a Valentine they will all think I love her!
Me: No they won't. Give one to everyone in your class. Its the nice thing to do.

Conner: Mom, I love Emily. Can I get her the great big teddy bear we saw at Smith's?
Me: No. Give the same valentine to everyone in your class. Its the nice thing to do.

Our solution. Mom types up a note. Stick a lollipop through the note.note: You're nice. Love, ...

Nice and safe...the way I like it!

We should share a fence

I never get to see you...
we really should share a fence :)
Wouldn't that be fun!

Remember the time when we were young and there was a terrible storm. I was home alone...or maybe my brother was home but he wasn't paying attention to me.
There was lightening and the thunder was loud. The power suddenly turned off and I was scared. I called you.
I always have called you.
You have always been there...even when we haven't talked for months.
You are my best friend because you are witty, pretty, smart, and you like me ;)
You are like a sister to me because you are there when I am in need.
I know I can even be rude and you'll forgive me because that's what sisters do.

I felt bad about cutting you off the other day. It was right when you were telling me that *she* was talking on and on and you said couldn't she read my "I'm bored" body lang.? Then I totally said I had to go. I did have to go, but what an awkward moment to cut someone off.

Neil was getting his flustered and had to make it to the bank before it closed. He had to talk to me before he left. Seriously it was something like, "can you put on some rice to go with the fish I am baking? I want to eat as soon as I get back from the bank because there is the Laker's Celtic game on." I said sure sweetie! ( I really was happy to help but didn't he know I was talking to you??!)

Sorry about that.
If we had a fence it would solve some of our awkward phone cut offs. Instead we could drink sweet tea on the porch and watch our kids tear it up on skateboards (or big wheels)
I love you my dear friend!
(I totally stole this pic of you...Its a pretty one so I hope you don't mind)
