Ok, so today I take a step into something else that I don't really know very much about! There is the all-too-easy tendency to dismiss the new, and pretend it hasn't happened. My Godmother (aged 82) has just cancelled a dinner arrangement to celebrate her birthday, because I wanted to take her out to eat. She doesn't go out. Me, I swing between wanting to know everything that's happening in the world and threatening to become a Jack of all trades - just like my dad (a cruel irony some would say).

Should I just use this blog thing as a simple diary - something I haven't managed successfully to do since I was fifteen? Or what? I'm sure that something will develop if I just give it room to grow. Tune in for the next gripping instalment.......
