Our Newest Adventure

So, it all started last summer when we found the house of our dreams. Great family home. Acre lot. Large detached shop/garage. Close to schools and work. The only problem - we hadn't sold our house. We quickly tried to sell it, but our friend who owned it couldn't wait and it sold within a few hours of being on the market and for considerable more. I was crushed. (You still might see me shed a tear as I drive by it)

I (Justin wasn't so sure) was determined to sell the house and get ready for the next screaming deal that came our way. We sold our home in the fall and moved into a friend's home 5 doors down.

Another great home came up with an incredible floor plan, 5+ car garage, beautiful views and a great lot. We got out bid!! Once again crushed. I have learned that there are some pretty weird floor plans out there and that we may be more picky than I thought.

I began to drag my brother in law, our realtor, all across town searching for our perfect home. The second week of February a new listing popped up. Great home. Awesome neighborhood. Four years old. Incredible price. Within walking distance of Justin's work. A basement (one of Justin's criteria) and only needed one bathroom painted. The kids had all picked out their rooms as they went happily through the home. Sounded perfect, but I just didn't feel anything.

It was a Sunday and bids would be accepted the next day. After church we drove by it and low and behold the garage door was open!!We walked through it one more time. I still had a stupor of thought. My mind said it was a great home, but my heart was a little hesitant. We came home. I checked my email and wholla a listing caught my eye and my heart. I called up our brother in law. We wanted to make an offer, we hadn't even walked through it. And this my friends is our new adventure...

Are we crazy?! On an acre. Detached shop/taxidermy shop. Close to work and school. Crazy, low, are you sure you didn't miss a digit price. Lots of space for our children to roam.

But .... ugly. The smell, well let's just say multiple animals in the home. Needs updating. A split level, never fond of them. Needs some serious attention.

We have had it less than two weeks and already the kitchen and both bathrooms are gutted. Carpet out (thank heavens) And a few suprises along the way.....

So, this will be our life for the next two months as we turn it into a lovely family home. When we bought it we had to sign that we intended to live in it for a year. At first we thought, one year and we are out of here!! But the more we work and think on it, we may be here for awhile.

We'll keep you updated as our adventure continues!!!

I panicked!!

I was talking to Brooke about when to do a friend party this summer. Looked at the calendar and panicked! We only have 2 1/2 weeks of summer left!. There was so much we hadn't done yet: Roaring Springs, barbecues with friends, rafting, long bike rides, and the list goes on.

Since we go year around, the girls only have 6 weeks of summer and this year it has seemed to fly by. I guess it doesn't help that we halted all fun activities for a week while I frantically cleaned out closets and cupboards so we could sell our house. ** If you know of anybody who would love a great 4 bedroom, 3 bath house in West Boise let me know!!**

I started thinking of all of the things we have done so I wouldn't get depressed. Rodeo, parades, swimming, going to the cabin, taking out our boat, eating lots of popsicles and watermelon, and our family vacation to McCall. At least we got our family trip in.... a must.As you can see Leah was excited! We had beautiful scenery and lots of mosquitos!
Lots of dirt!

And many adventures

Precious family time

MIA

The Thuesons have been MIA in the blogging world...

So, where have we been??

The Arctic?!?

Oh, no that's just how we watched the majority of Brooke and Aubrey's soccer season. Another successful year for our two little athletes!

Dangerous Flower Picking in the wild?

Just Grandma's cabin where everyone has the urge to be decked out in camo. Can you see Aubrey way up in the tree!! That's even after I yelled at her to get down!

EASTER ISLAND?

Nope, just some quaint little rock sculptures at Mammoth Caves on our way to Albion with friends for the weekend. The girls with the Jay Leno rock!

Australia?

Just the cool new Wallaby exhibit at Zoo Boise during Justin's work party. We had the entire zoo (ok I know it's small, but its new exhibits are wonderful!) for his party and my kids thought they were in heaven!

Don't worry it hasn't been all play!

Justin redid our kitchen back splash and I love it!

We had an ER visit and sicknesses. I think four members of the family went to 6 doctor visits in 3 days!! Thank goodness for health insurance and health savings accounts!

We've worked in the dirt!

Graduated from preschool!

Attended ceremonies, field day and worked on projects and reports!

It's enough to make us all a little tired sometimes!

Age of Discovery

The Cody Boy is everywhere discovering new things everyday!

Sometimes to the stress of his sisters!

You can never leave a drawer or cabinet open...

He's definately past the baby food. I think he ate the majority of his grandpa's icecream.

He loves to be outside and discover dirt, leaves, rocks, water, etc. Sorry, no pictures. I am too busy keeping the stuff out of his mouth!

In the past week he has discovered balls around the house. He's already got quite the arm. He can throw his sippy cup half way across the kitchen.

Who Knew....

That snowboots were so versatile! Silly me I only wore them in the snow! Thanks Leah for enlightening us.
