Black Friday
So I have never been one to go out the day after Thanksgiving to go shopping, but with some coaxing I went with my two coworkers Traci and Kacie. And because we are totally crazy we started the shopping at 6am, well actually 6:30 for me because someone didn't hear the alarm and was late. Well our trip was suppose to last no more than 2 hours tops, yeah right, lets try 5 hours and $300 later. But I did save a lot and I would like to see this trip as my birthday and Christmas gifts times two :) I can see where the term black Friday comes from, 1. its pitch dark when you arrive to go shopping and 2. spending that much money does makes the day seem kind of black...LOL. But in the spirit of the season, they had a tree with names and wishes for the less fortunate. And if I can treat myself to a few frivilous things then I am certainly capable of helping the less fortunate. So this Christmas there will be one less child missing out, and I hope that there will be more opportunities to give service this holiday season.

Twilight the Movie
So I have made the comment that I did not particularly enjoy the movie Twilight upon my first viewing of it. I would like to retract that statement. I went for the second time with Jayci and it was like seeing another movie. I knew what to expect and what not to expect. I loved it! True there will always be a few things that aren't quite right, but what movie is perfect, especially one based off an amazing book. But once you know what the movie brings it becomes quite easy to accept it and begin to feel the movie the way the book made you feel.
So for all of you Twilight fans out there, don't let your disappointment stop you from seeing the movie again, trust me it will be better second time around. It was romantic and sexy and pretty much awesome. And yes I will so be seeing it again...

Coldplay Concert
So it has been a really busy weekend full of lots of events. Friday I went with my best friend Jayci and her husband Tomas to see the movie Twilight. Saw the movie and I will let others decide what thet think of it, but lets just say could have been better. Afterwards we met up with some of my other friends and went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday. Always nice to get out and then hung out with Jayci back at their house.
Saturday went with my coworker Traci to see Coldplay in concert. First we went to dinner and then did some shopping at the GAP and whoo hoo bought some great stuff at amazing prices, I love sales. Then on to the concert which was beyond amazing. Worth every penny we spent to go and made an awesome memory. Glad Traci and I got to together is was great!

VEGAS!!!!!!!!!

So for my birthday I went with my friend Kacie to Las Vegas. We had a totally awesome time! So starting Friday morning we began our trip, this is us heading past St. George for being the desert it had some pretty sites. So after 6 hours of chatting and laughing, we finally drove into Vegas and went down the entire strip, just to we could see everything.
We checked into the Luxor Hotel around 3pm and chilled in our room.
We got all dressed up and met up with my boss Jyl, who was there on business. I sadly choose to wear really cute, but painful high heeled boots. Ended up walking all over the strip trying to find the mall, which we did find. Went out to Cheesecake Factory for dinner and sung to and had an awesome cheesecake. Even got to blow out the candle, yeah happy 27th birthday to me!
So after a fun time eating dinner we did a little bit more shopping then headed to Treasure Island, where Jyl was staying, to get ready to go out dancing. We decided to go to the club in the hotel, got there at about 12 midnight and danced till we were all too tired. By the time Kacie and I got back to our hotel it was after 4am and we seriously slept for forever. So on Saturday after lying in bed sleeping and then watching TV we decided maybe we should get ready for the day and see some of Vegas. We made it to the hotel buffet More
around 2pm and ate breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert all in one sitting. Way to get all the days meals done all at once. As we slowly moved toward our next destination, we had really sore feet and backs, so walking was not on our favorite list. We went to the Mirage Hotel to go and see the Dolphin Habitat and Secret Garden. This was probably the best part of the trip seeing the dolphins and the lions up close. I have always wanted to see dolphins and it was wonderful, now I just need to swim with them and life will be perfect.
After seeing the animals and staying till they closed and made us leave, we headed back to our hotel . We then went to Criss Angel
Believe show, which was really awesome. Not quite what I thought is was going to be, but very cool. After the show the plan was to go dancing at the LAX club, but us ladies were too tired to do anything more than to head to our hotel and go to bed.
We slept in on Sunday, until of course we had to get up because check out was at 11am. We went to eat at the Rainforest Cafe, very colorful and loud place, super cool atmosphere. Passed the tigers in the MGM Grand and then walked over to M&M World. Next to it was a
water massage and since we didn't end up getting our real massages it was close enough to the real thing. While at M&M World I got dark chocolate, mint M&Ms and they were sooooo good, that's how candy should taste. Then it was back to the car and another 6 hour drive back home, and it was a very, very long trip home. But we made it in one piece and were back to work the next day. Great way to spend a birthday!Tuesday, November 11, 2008
Twilight Tag
- Who introduced you to Twilight?
My aunt Sherri kept talking about this book that was the greatest love story ever, and it took awhile for me to go and get it, but it was definitely worth the wait! - What character would you most compare yourself to?
Bella for sure. She is overly intense and emotional, but she loves deep and for life. She loves to read, is mostly an outsider, thinks way too much in her head, but she is sweet, caring, helpful, kind and unique. - What character would others say you are?
Not sure, but probably Bella. - Team Edward or Team Jacob? Please like there is any choice about that, forever team Edward. He's perfect!
- How many times have you read Twilight?
I've read the entire series once and now I am re-reading Twilight again. - If you could have one of the powers the Cullens have what would it be and why? Edwards, reading people minds would be helpful and awesome!
- What is your favorite part in Twilight? Too hard to choose, but I love the passion of Edward and Bella and yet it always leaves you wanting more, never quite completely satisfied. Its absolutely perfect!
- Favorite quote in Twilight? There are so many. "I promise to love you forever--every single day of forever. " "Before you, my life was like a moonless night"
Favorite Cullen sibling?
Alice, she is always positive and friendly and takes Bella in almost immediately. - Phoenix or Forks? Forks of course, I'm from Oregon so I am all for the constant rain.
- If you were Bella and can't have Edward what other male from the book would you pick and why? Jacob, he is her best friend.
- Would you rather be a vampire or werewolf? Vampire
- If you had one song that would be perfect for Bella and Edward what would it be?

Utah Symphony
So last night I went to the symphony. It was my first time ever going alone, but it was worth it. So it was Elgar's Cello Concerto and the soloist Natalie Clein was incredible. The night started with Brahms' Symphony No. 3 in F major which was calm and very quite. Next came the celloist and she was so intense when she played it added that much more to her performance. You could feel the meaning of the music just by watching her expessions while she played. It was truely amazing to see. The last piece of the night was the perfect way to end, loud and intense with Alberto Ginastera's Estancia: Four Dances. It was hard to sit still the music was so catchy and fun. Definitely a great night of music! I am looking forward to my next symphony experience, Mozart's Requeim.

Check this out!
Ok so I just had to post this. I was driving down I-5 and I look over and see a truck driving down the road. Normally this wouldn't be that exciting but I was shocked by the size of its tires. So the truck was jacked up high with the tiniest tires which looked really odd, but the best part was that there were outrageously huge tires sitting in the back. Quite the site I must say, thought I would share!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

So for the holiday I tried a few decorative ideas. One being the haunted house, it comes as a package at Walmart. It was a blast to get creative with it. Of course while making it I ate quite a few of the sweet tart bats and skulls, they were really good. Also I am the biggest fan of pumpkin carving so that was a must. Only problem you should never wait till the last moment to buy a pumpkin cause the selection is very iffy, but the price is great, try $2 a pumpkin. So when I went to open my pumpkin up and clean the seeds out and it was a defective one. It had almost no seeds or anything inside and was quite frail. Not the ideal for carving. Also I didn't want to do the usual face so I choose to be slightly more creative, say a mimick of my haunted house. Sadly I killed my pumkpin in the picture I decided to let it be seen in the dark. It sat lopsided and the entire face piece got cut off. So its only there for looks, if touched it comes apart. Not quite what I had in mind, but a least I got my carve on:)

In addition to all the fun. I got all dressed up as an angel for work on Halloween. It was tons of fun, during the afternoon all the kids and relatives of people at work come and treat or treat at everyones desk. It was cute to see all the costumes and the kids were crazy about the whole thing. Only problem we all ran out of candy really fast, so the stragglers got a little less candy. That was a great way to celebrate a Friday at work! The rest of the night was spent hanging out. I went to a movie with friends then got pizza and watched another movie! Always nice to have a chill holiday and fun with friends. Till next year....
