Josiah at 18 Months

I can't believe our little man is on his way to being 2!
He brings so much joy and laughter to our home!
He has started talking in more sentences now. He ADORES his sisters and is always copying EVERTHING they say! His favorite phrases right now are "Got it!" and "All through with this" and "I love you!" When I tell him to listen and obey he immediately says "I sorry!"He has such a sweet little voice, we can't get enough of him talking. The girls love playing the "say _______" game with him. He says whatever they want him to which can be pretty funny sometimes!

He also loves to sing and sings "Be Still and Know" which is what I sing to him every night when he goes to bed. Its sweet to hear him sing it with me now!
He has a very tender heart, especially for his sisters. Whenever they are crying he always goes and gives them big hugs. He wants to be doing WHATEVER they are doing.

He and Maddie currently weigh the same amount and are about the same size so he thinks he is 3 like her. He gets really frustrated when he can't do what she is doing. He and Maddie like to duke it out sometimes, pulling each others hair and hitting. Then they will play like they are the best of friends! They are a mess together!

All three have started playing pretend together and it is really cute to see him participating with them! He keeps up pretty well for such a little guy!
He and Sophi have a very special bond. They always want to be together! He walks around the house saying "Sofi, r u?" One of her new jobs now that we are homeschooling is getting Josiah dressed every day. They love it and its super cute to listen to them giggling at each other while completing this task!
Because he wants to be like his sisters he can do a lot of things by himself! He puts on his shoes, brushes his teeth, and has to sit on the potty whenever Maddie does!
He is all boy! He loves to play with balls, roll in the dirt, throws ANYTHING he can get his hands on, using almost anything as a weapon, loves to wrestle, loves cars and making car noises, and laughs at himself whenever he toots (he will say "I tooted" and then just giggle!).
You can also tell that he has older sisters because he loves to play with baby dolls, dress up and wear princess high heels, he doesn't mind using anything pink, and he loves to read books!

He LOVES dogs and will sit and pet any dog he sees as long as the owner will allow! He and his Grammy's dog Molly love to play fetch together and love to wrestle! He also LOVES being outside! Playgrounds are his favorite and he can't get enough of slides! He is more cautious like his sister Maddie but is not afraid to try new things!

He takes one nap a day and now if he falls asleep in the car for 5 or 10 minutes that is all the nap he will take. Occasionally he will skip his nap, and is totally happy and content at the end of the day without it, heaven help us!!
He has learned how to be a drama queen like his sister and can throw a massive fit, which usually involves sitting down and throwing his head back on the floor (if he is outside he knows to lay down slowly as to not hurt himself more than he deems necessary depending upon the size of the fit!). However he much more compliant like his sister Sophi and I can give him a look and he will stop whatever it is he is doing. Don't get me wrong, he has time outs but he is not as strong willed as Maddie, thank goodness!!
He still holds my heart in his hands most days and melts my heart every time he says "I love you mommy" ...

but he is very much a mans man! He loves his daddy and can't get enough wrestling and fighting him! He also really loves his Pops and Poppy which is so stinking cute. I think they are enjoying having another "man" around!

He is also enjoying having another boy cousin around to play with during family vacations! He and Webb are destined to be best buds!

He had his first big spill over the last 6 months, falling head first into the corner of the piano bench. He didn't have to have stitches because of where the cut was but instead had it super glued together instead. I'm pretty certain it won't be the last time but thankful that we made it this far before the first major spill!
A few other things about our little guy right now:
- he still loves to eat broccoli and spicy food but has become a little more particular than he used to be, breakfast is his least favorite meal!

- he is not allergic to any food that we know of!!
- he loves spending the night at Grammy and Lolly's house

Josiah, we are so thankful God gave us to you! You light up our lives and we can't get enough of you!

15 month Siah

Our little man is 15 months old! Where does the time go?!!

The biggest change that has taken place with this little guy is his talking! One day soon after he turned one he decided it was time to talk. Let me remind you he did NOT even say Mama or Dada at one, he had 0 words. In one day he said Mama, Dada, Sophi, more, puppy, and woof! He now says 50+ words. His favorites are peoples names, Maddie in particular. He says please and thank you all day long. Some other words he is saying right now are baby, book, car, airplane, elmo, diaper, up, down, hi, and bye bye. My favorite thing he says is bye bye because of his sweet southern drawl.
This little man is ALL boy. He loves cars and trucks, being outside, getting dirty, and hitting and throwing things!

The one other ALL boy thing about this little guy in my mind is that he is always dragging a stuffed animal around with him everywhere.
Josiah loves to be read to these days and loves to sit and "read" on his own.
He's good at following directions and listening to "no" which is helpful. His favorite direction to follow is "Go get your shoes!"

He loves to play by himself but would rather be playing with his sisters. He is a little extravert like his older sister Sophi and loves pretend play! He always has to be "cooking" and must be wearing the oven mit at all times.
A few other things we have learned about our sweet boy over the last few months:
-he climbs up and goes down slides as well as climbs into chairs and onto coaches
-he is allergic to eggs but NOT NUTS or PEANUTS!! That is a huge positive is this family!
-He loves to eat sweets
-he only takes one 2 hour nap a day and sleeps 12 hours at night
-he has almost ALL his teeth which makes him seem like such a big boy
-he uses a fork and spoon to feed himself
-he learns by observation and has learned ALOT of good and a few not so good things from his sisters
-he loves to wear hats and glasses!
-he wears 18 month clothes now...he's such big boy
- he is both a momma's boy and a daddy's boy depending on the day...whenever you tell him "I love you" he instantly gives you us a kiss, so sweet!

He had a few first the last few months, first easter egg hunt...
...his first haircut...
...and his first trip to the TN Aquarium,  he loved splashing with the sting rays.
He loves spending time at his Lolly's house...
and his grammy's house!

Sweet Josiah, you are such a blessing to our family, you bring so much joy to our lives. We look forward to seeing all God has planed for you in the coming weeks and months!
