Come on LEE pick up your pylons

Here is one of th funniest pictures I have ever seen. Last week we did our annual Waterton to Glacier Relay race. How it works is the last person at each station has to pick up their pylons after all the runners have crossed their point. Somehow Leigh Anne got stuck picking up the pylons for the last half of the race. I took a pic of her as she came in, ha ha, ticked wouldn't even begin to describe how mad she was. I don't think James got any loving for a week. Anyways it was fun and we had a good time.

Happy 40th birthday Joel!

It's Joel's 40th birthday today and he's in better shape than ever! He did his first Triathlon in Salem yesterday and did really well. He had to swim 800 meters, bike 13 miles and run a 5k. He hated the swim, but rocked it on the bike and run. Next weekend he is doing another half marathon! We love you and are so proud of you! Happy birthday!

I'm still alive!

So Joel's taken over my blog for the most part since my life has just been to crazy busy to ever sit down and write down my thoughts. Thanks Joel for keeping it alive and posting some things that go on in our life! Hmmm where to begin? So Joel talked Kinlee and Dylan into running the Westridge Elementary 5K last Friday. Kinlee and Joel went running a few times a week just for a mile to get her ready. She actually kept getting faster and faster each time they ran. She doesn't get that from me, my pace never changes for some dumb reason. I think Joel really enjoyed running with her and she likes pleasing her dad :). Dylan is already a naturally fast runner. Also, not from me. Anyway, Dylan ran the 5K in just over 24 minutes with his cousin Jaxon and Kinlee ended up finishing in just over 26 minutes! Joel, of course, smoked everyone with a time of about 22 minutes. This is why I didn't run it. My fastest 5K times is 30 minutes. We are so proud of them! I just wish they LIKED to run and wanted to do it more often. Joel and I are kind-of on a fitness craze these last couple years. This was a good step in the right direction though. I tried to talk Kaitlyn into the 1-mile fun run, but she wasn't game. After the 5K though, she told me that she wants to do the 5K next year! We will see. I will remind her of that when it comes around again. ha ha. Joel has signed up for some triathlons (biking, running, swimming) coming up this spring and summer. He's been trying to swim a few times a week to get ready for it and just bought a brand new fancy bike (holy crap those are more expensive that I realized) that he's been logging several miles on already. His first Tri is coming up in June I think and he has signed up for a few others throughout the summer so I will get pics and post those. As for me, I am still loving Crossfit, but not loving the fact that I don't feel as strong as I'd like or have the endurance I want to yet. My awesome trainer, Brandy, has given me some extra "stuff" to do each week at the gym to try and get me stronger. I have to say I have really enjoyed lifting weights and stepping outside my comfort zone at the gym. I love the people and the trainers there, the workouts are SO SO challenging, some days I have butterflies in my stomach just driving to the gym. Anyway, we will see how it goes now that my trainer is really "watching" me. Kinlee is still playing piano (much to her dismay) and has a recital coming up next week. Kaitlyn has been playing soccer and surprisingly (with her personality) isn't all that aggressive on the field. Maybe it's the fact that she's been the only girl on the team most of the time. There is another girl, but she's only come to 2 games. She says she likes it though and maybe we'll try it again in the Fall. Dylan is just waiting for any chance to play basketball again. He's grown like 2 feet this year it seems. He and I are almost looking eye to eye! His feet are huge too and I think he's going to keep growing. He's liking the PUPS program and Provo High and will probably be going back next year for 8th grade. Then there's the Dude. So sweet and funny. We just love that kid. He makes life fun and keeps us all laughing. He's obsessed with guinea pigs right now and really thinks he needs to have one. I finally told him he could have one when he's 10 so he's telling everyone all about it and how he's getting a guinea pig SOON when he turns 10. He's already asked if he can take the guinea pig to the cabin when we go to Montana. ha ha... he doesn't realize how far away 10 is. So cute. He loves his big sister Katy and wants to do everything with her. Also, our neighbor Ryder is his other favorite. He's pretty much over here whenever we're home. They are like the 3 musketeers. Oh yes, we got a new car yesterday. We sold the old one on KSL and got the new one the next day! We loved the Yukon, but it just wasn't trustworthy enough anymore to go on long trips like Montana or Canada anymore so we got a 2010 Tahoe which is pretty much the same thing, just newer and prettier. :) Kinlee is a little OCD with the new car. She doesn't want the little kids to touch it, play in it, or pretty much even look at it. She was more excited about it than anybody. Love that girl. She's growing up way too fast. Well, that was a quick update of our lives. Looking forward to summer, the cabin, tennis lessons, basketball, swimming at the pool, and slowing down I hope a little!

Capitol Reef

Went with the scouts to Capitol Reef last weekend. We went hiking up a bunch of slot canyons, pretty cool I must say. Anyways we had competitions who could go up the highest up the sides, you could go pretty high. Anyways had a good time and luckily no one got hurt, because as scouts we ended up doing a few dumb things....

Holy Crap that hurt...

So I had a root canal go south this week, way south. So to get it fixed they had to extract the tooth and put in a new implant and crown. What the dentist didn't tell me is that it required a freaking chisel and hammer to get it out. Serious look at the picture, there are two chisels on the left. Ever seen a grown man cry, well if you were there on wednesday you would have. The only good part was that he prescribed oxycodone as the pain killer.

Angry Birds Champion

Every chance Dude gets he wants to play Angry Birds. He will sit for hours and play. All you hear is grunts, yells and screams. Cute kid.
