Kentucky

We love Kentucky! We have a big backyard and a nice rental home. There are lots of neat parks, and the libraries are awesome (unlike the holes in Omaha). I've already had two dinners at my house with new friends and two dinners at others' homes. My boys love the space to run, though Alex sometimes misses friends. Lexington is very clean and we're 5-15 min from everything we could want to see in the city! We already have a pass to the Children's Museum.

We bought a basketball hoop and a slide off Craigslist cheap. The slide turned out to double as a water slide- it hooks up to a hose and water sprays out holes in the side over the slide. It's totally awesome!

Anticipation

Tyler was recently accepted into a general dentistry residency in Arizona. He was going to work there for a year before reapplying to orthodontic school. But, he wanted an orthodontic fellowship in Kentucky more, so after hot pursuit of an early interview, last minute airplane flights right before the director went on Christmas break, Tyler was accepted (he needed to accept or decline the residency ASAP)! So we'll be moving to Kentucky in May. The fellowship lasts a year and it REALLY increases your chances of getting accepted into ortho school because the amount of research done and orthodontic cases reviewed can not be ignored on an application. And if we went to the Kentucky ortho school, it only costs 24,000 for three years instead of 50,000 a year for two years if we went to Arizona (where we'd rather live).

Summer Vacation

Hello friends!



I never thought I'd get around to blogging-whenever I check my e-mail I've got at least 600 messages. But I'd love to contact old friends and have a hobbie, so here I am!

I'm vacationing in Utah until the 7th of August. It's packed with crazy stuff. My family is going sky diving on Saturday.
