Myles Turns One!!

My sweet little baby guy turned one on the 10th. So crazy! This has been such an amazing year for the three of us. We've learned a lot, and Kenny and I continue to be amazed by all the cool things Myles does. We love him so much!!!
Here are a few shots of the big day.

Nothing is traditional in our house! This is Myles' "cake". Myles does not like bread. Since cake is a similar texture I gave him some at Kenny's birthday a month ago and, like I thought, he spit it right out; multiple times. Anyway, he loves graham crackers, grapes, and cars so this is what we came up with. A graham cracker car with a grape family in front! And no, the grape family does not have arms. That was too hard.

Myles went for the grapes first, then just like on any other car, he went for the oreo wheels. He held them up and tried to spin them. Then I picked one up and took a bite. He copied and loved his first sugar rush!

The whole gang was there! Myles does not always like his human friends' noises. So we opted for his "quiet" friends. :)
Presents! He loves his Tonka car collection! He zoomed all day long!

First time opening a present. This was early morning before all the party guests arrived.
Myles and Daddy bouncing balloons around the room. He loved the balloons!!

It was such a great day!! We just love our Myles Man!

Trip to Oregon

After our fun Thanksgiving here, as the three of us, we decided to take a trip to Oregon to visit family. It was so great to see the family and friends we have there. We really miss living there!!
It was great for Myles because he got to play with lots of cousins. Myles is lucky to have so many cousins his age on both sides of our family.

Him and Kurt (his cousin 10 months older) were so cute together! Kurt has been walking for almost a year now, but he crawled around with Myles. They both love cars, so they just zoomed all day long!!

We had such a great time!! Here are some pics of our trip. Enjoy!

Me and my sister, Krystal, with our boys. I miss my sister!!
I love this picture of Kurt!!

Sweet little Phoebe!

We are so thankful for all of our family!! We love and miss all of you!!

p.s. Today is Myles' 1st birthday!! I know, didn't I just blog about giving birth to him?! It has gone so fast! I keep thinking, "Soon he'll be 18." I know, I am a crazy mother-in-law in the making. :) Anyway, we are so grateful for the little man. He's so sweet and awesome! I'm gonna start crying if I write anymore about how much I love being his mama, so I'll stop now, and just say that we love him so much. I will post pics hopefully tomorrow of his birthday. Have a great night everyone! :)

What do you feed your husband on Thanksgiving when he doesn't like turkey, ham, or any other traditional meat? Chicken Nuggets Baby!!!

Our humble feast

We had Thanksgiving all by ourselves for the first time. At first I really wanted to make a turkey and the whole bit. Then I remembered that we were leaving the next day for Oregon to visit family. Oh, and Kenny is not huge on turkey so I would've been stuck eating it all. Myles probably would've helped a little. Anyway, so at first the chicken nuggets were kind of a joke. Then I thought it would be such a fun memory of our first Thanksgiving just as us. So what the heck! We did it, and it was so much fun!

We took family pictures today. Myles was adorable. We decided that it was good we waited till now because we were able to get some really cute shots of Myles by himself. We don't have any of those pictures yet but we wanted to post some of our own anyway.

"I'm a model, you know what I mean?" (can you guess the song?)
"Mom, I want a grape."
"Dad, your blocking the game. Move it."

"I wasn't picking my nose."
(He really wasn't by the way, he just likes to gnaw on his fingers)

Halloween Fun!

So Halloween was moving day for us. I was stressed and rude all day long. Sorry Babe! I dressed Myles in most of his costume all day, but he wouldn't wear the helmet.
Due to moving taking longer than expected Kenny and I didn't get to dress up or build our graham cracker haunted houses. So we built the houses on Sunday when Myles was napping, and dressed up for a spooky family picture on Monday. A little late, but I was determined to have pics of Myles' first Halloween. He was the cutest G.I. Joe ever!! :)

Kenny was a mad scientist, I was a fairy, and Myles man, as stated before, was a G.I. Joe.

My face looks funny in this picture, but I love Myles in this pic so I had to add it too.

Here he is about to take the helmet off or grab the camera. I love the helmet on him!!!

And now for the haunted houses fun! Kenny can always build his nice and tall. I tried this year and it started falling down. Kenny then suggested mine be a haunted apartment complex. So that is why there are four doors. Oh, and I included an oh-so-spooky, brown pool for the apartment complex, complete with Swedish snapping Fish.

And now we eat!

Our belated Halloween was a lot of fun! I love the holidays! I love my little family!!! They are the best!

In Need of My Brother-in-Law, Dave

We have successfully moved into our new home!! It's a townhome that we have fallen in love with. The only problem is that the upstairs, Myles' room especially, smells like a dog. No one esle can smell it except me. My mom came this past weekend and couldn't smell it. Kenny said once, "I think I smell it." Then today when the landlord came he told us that no dogs had lived in this house for years. Can a dog leave his odor around for that long? The smell is crazy strong to me, and no I'm not pregnant. I just really smell a dog whenever I go upstairs. I've got to get rid of the smell, but first I need my brother-in-law, Dave to come and assure me that the dog smell is real. He has a super sense of smell. My sister has told me stories about how he can sniff around the room and find the exact source of the stench. Dave, if you're reading this you need to come to our house. I know you will smell the dog too. Help me find this hiding dog!!!

Halloween pics and new house pics to come shortly.

In Want of a House Elf

In August we found out that the house we're renting was going up for sale. Bummer. So we started looking for a new place to live. We found a nice place but they weren't opening up until December 1st. At that time our house hadn't sold, so we decided to go for it. Then on October 7th we got a phone call telling us that the house had sold and we had to be out on the 31st of October!! Ahhh! That is why I want a house elf. If you have no idea what a house elf is, please go read Harry Potter. You're missing a great adventure anyway if you haven't read it.
Anyway, we've been extremely blessed. The place we were going to move into on December 1st is now available on November 6th. So now instead of being homeless for a month it will only be a week. :) We've also been greatly blessed with friends letting us stay in their home while they are away on vacation, and friends letting us store all of our belongings in their garage so we don't have to rent a storage unit. Very, very kind people.

And I'm not complaining, but it would be so great to have a house elf to finish up the packing and cook dinner. So if any of you know the name of a good house elf, please let me know. :)

Bath Time!

Myles' hair has gotten pretty long and the other day when Jandi gave him a bath she gave him a shamhawk. (I know it sounds lame, but it's better than shampoo mohawk, fauxhawk, or poohawk).

Anyhow, that picture led to others and they were so funny and cute that we had to share them with everyone else.

I am Swamp Thing! AARRGGH!!!

Ahh, rest and relaxation
And finally,
"No Pictures Please, No Pictures."

I love Wonder Bread!

Usually I am a devout wheat bread eater, but how can you say 'no' to white bread when it looks this cute?!

My sister Tess and her husband Ryan bought this Wonder Bread Halloween costume from Honks a while ago. So when we were visiting them in Boise over the weekend we had to put it on Myles! :)

We all agreed that the top of the costume looks like cow ears with colored spots, but regardless he still looks adorable! And funny! :)

Vacation!

Kenny took some of his vacation time this past week so we went down to Ely, Nevada to visit his parents. My sister-in-law, Charity, and her family live there and my other sister-in-law, Krista, came down to visit with her family. All the Ludwig grandkids were together for the first time! We had a very fun, relaxing time! Here are some of our favorite pics from the trip.
Myles got hungry on the way over so we pulled out the high chair and set it up in a parking lot. He LOVED watching all the cars and trucks go by. I'm considering permanently moving his high chair outside for mealtimes.

My boys relaxing in front of a football game.

Left to right: Krista and Christian, Mama Ludwig and Isabel, Charity and Isaiah, and me and Myles.

Three generations of Ludwig men!
Left to right: Me and Myles, Tess and baby in the belly, and Ylfe and Zac.
On our way back home we stopped in Boise to see my little sister Tess. She is having her baby boy in October!! She has the cutest baby belly ever! We got to be there for her baby shower and my older sister, Ylfe, surprised her by coming to the shower as well. It was so fun to be together!!! Mom and Krystal, we missed you!
We had such a great time on our vacation together. It was great to see so much family!! Thanks to all for making time for us. We love you!

Wrestle Mania!

Myles loves to wrestle anything and everything. Among his favorites are balls, stuffed toys, water bottles, and his big blue truck. If he sees my water bottle on the floor he army crawls as fast as he can to it and knocks it down.
I love the look in his eyes and the scrunch of his nose that he gets when he's wrestling. He's intense! We call it his snootchie face. Hopefully one of these days we'll capture that on camera.

Fang Baby

Myles is teething like crazy! Ever since we moved his teeth haven't stopped coming. He's now working on tooth number five and I think number six will shortly follow. He has his two bottom front teeth in place and to our surprise he's getting his two upper fangs. It's hilarious! It is also very hard to capture on camera, but Kenny managed to get one of his fangs the other day.

So here is our little vampire baby!

I Look Cute and Other Stuff

Since I returned from my lonely sojourn in SoCal life has been a flurry of activity: catching up with Myles and hugging Jandi, playing with Myles and kissing Jandi, hugging Myles and catching up with Jandi, and a few other less important things.

I also wanted to post some pictures that we took that are really fun (for us anyway ;] )
