Springtime in Wisconskee

Before we moved out here to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, our nephew Kolby once called it "Wisconskee" (he couldn't remember the name) - and it kind of stuck for me and Jordan. The spring really is beautiful here. These shots are just me messing around with our camera while little Juders explored the trees, grass, wind, sky, and sunshine! He loves being outside.

I love this first one... he looks like a little farmboy or something.

See that little speck next to this great big tree? Yep, that's Jude!

A little closer up... Jude was fascinated with the grass.

My favorite part about this one are those chubby bare feet.

Jude's face in this next one just kills me! ... Jordan says it looks like a picture sent home from fat camp! ( : He says that in a very loving way, of course.. We LOVE the chub.

The next 3 pics were taken between conference sessions on Easter. Juders actually had a very high fever at the time (his face here says it all). I ended up taking him into the clinic a little later... he had strep throat! Poor little guy.

Jude got 2 gifts for Easter... a ball and bubbles! Man, they're so easy to please at this age. He wasn't able to take much pleasure in his toys till later on when he was feeling a little better. Here he is with Daddy...

Watching Mama blow bubbles...

Last of all... Here's a picture of our little picnic we all took a few days after Easter at a pond near our house. After our lunch, Jordan ran down to the edge of the pond with Jude and scared all the geese and ducks away.

"Dang it, Jude! Quit being so cute!"...

...(Jordan has been known to shout this from time to time.) This baby boy of ours is so beautiful. Words are just so lame when it comes to trying to describe the love I have for him. I understand why people say they love something so much it hurts. My heart will always ache with the tender wound of love he put there. Oh, Jude! My darling little son!

Alright, on with the pictures! This first one is a favorite of mine... I feel like it's a glimpse into Jude's little personality. His gentle, easy-going, happy little confidence!

Jude is that kid that always gets his cheeks pinched by old ladies at church.
I can't understand why...

I like the mood of this picture. There is nothing I'd rather do than play with my little Juders.

This one always makes me laugh. Don't we all love a good diaperbutt? And ooooh, those chublicious thighs! I could sink my teeth into them, I swear.

Sweet little hands...

Hmmm, let's see... Who's mischievous smile is this?
Yup - Jordan's. All the way.

Classic cuteness. Classic.

He's looking over at me in this picture... He always pops that little eyebrow before flashing me a smile. Jude is well-known for his saucy eyebrows.

I love how the pattern on his blankie behind him seems to
echo the stars in his eyes...

Who? ME? Love the innocence on his face here.

This one reminds me of some of my own baby pictures somehow. Maybe because the lighting is bringing out some of the red tones in his hair?

Jude and Mama.

In the crib...

Reading a favorite book. That excited little smile kills me - and that little bare foot too!

Okay, okay... Jude was exhausted by the time we were done overstimulating him. Poor little guy.

Ha! And we're ending with a favorite as well... Jordan and I always laugh about this one - we love that smashed little nose!

ps. My very talented friend, Ashlee Nordgren, took these shots when Jude was about 5 months old. I was so impressed with her work. And I love that she took them right here in our apartment because now they're extra precious... I'll always look back at them and remember our little home where Jude was born! I'm so grateful to Ashlee for capturing these sweet memories for Jordan and I. Thanks again, Ash!
