Sweet Deal

I just got this e-mail from a coupon place I am signed up for that said they had great deals for restraunt.com. I thought I would check it out. I typed in my zip code and a few restaurants came up with gift certificates for their restaurant. I just bought a $25 gift certificate to the Fireside Grille for $4. Yes friends, $4. The catch, we have to spend $35 at the restaurant. So $25 is taken care of. We will $35 worth of food for a total of $14. SWEET! I also called the restraunt to make sure they accept the gift card (it's actually an e-mail that was sent to me and I just had to print it out) and they do accept it. So it's not another scam. So check it out here. Make sure you enter in FALL in the coupon code, if it doesn't work, google it to see if there are any coupon codes. Sorry everyone in Idaho Falls. There was nothing in that area. Totally dumb if you ask me.

Chocolate

While I wish this post were about the brown delicious chocolate I must say it's not. It's about my stupid pink chocolate phone. I have had many problems with this phone over the past 17-months. Within the first few months my phone started acting weird. It has heat sensors and I wasn't able to call anyone because the heat sensor didn't work. I got a new phone. Then in May this phone stopped working. It would turn off and while off it would start vibrating. The screen would go black, it was a mess. I got a new phone. Now, four months later my third phone is broken. The charger piece that is inside the phone, has come out. So I can't charge my phone. In order to charge it I have to take my battery off, put it on Jay's phone and charge the battery. Then make the swap back. It's a pain.
So... does anyone have a Verizon phone and charger lying around?

Blessings

The past few weeks I have been following this amazing blog about a family coming together through difficult times. This couple, Stephanie and Christian (I have never met these people, I just came across their blog through my daily blog stalking adventures) were in a plane crash several weeks ago. They have a few beautiful children and Stephanie's sisters have all joined together to raise the children while Stephanie and Christian are recovering. They were both severely burned and go through many treatments a week. It's very moving, I shed tears each day as I read it. http://blog.cjanerun.com/
Today I found another tear shedding blog. Not that I don't have enough trials of my own and reasons to shed tears but I feel like I have become part of these families. The second blog http://sccsdecker.blogspot.com/ is just as compelling. This is about a mom who is going through tremendous medical treatments. When I first read I thought no big deal, it's life. As I continued to read I had to close out and calm myself down. I was having an anxiety attack.
As I read these two journals I grow more thankful for the gospel. The family in the first blog is LDS. They talk about the gospel in each post. They talk about priesthood blessings and the power of prayer. I feel at peace when I read this one. You can tell they are at peace, albiet scared, they are comforted. I don't know about the second family. They don't mention any sort of religion and from what I can tell they aren't LDS. I don't feel that same sense of peace. My heart breaks and I just want to tell them about the priesthood and the gospel and that no matter what happens families are forever.
So through this all way am I freaking out that it will happen to me rather than counting my blessings?

If you are going to read these posts, make sure you start at the beginning of the story and plan to have several hours and tissues on hand.

A long awaited Tag

I was tagged a few weeks back by Jade and Debi but I couldn't think of any quirks, still can't. But alas, I will give it a shot.

The Rules:
•Link the person(s) who tagged you.
•Mention the rules on your blog.
•Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
•Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them.
•Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

1. I spell things out with my fingers all day long. No, I am not a sign language interpreter I just pretend. I will spell things out in sign language when I see them, I will spell out things I am thinking, I will spell out things you are saying. It is so annoying. I didn't think anyone ever noticed until my little sister told me she does everything I do, including moving my fingers by sides all the time. She thought it was cool. Nope, just an annoying quirk.

2. I am getting better about this, but it's still a quirk. When I go to a restaurant I won't drink out of the glass without a straw. Doesn't matter how thirsty I am. Friends who have gone out to eat with me many times (Kristi) know to ask for a straw if I am in the restroom. It's sad, I'm trying to get over it. Really I am.

3. Before I go on vacation I have to clean my house. Not just straighten it up, but clean. Mop the floors, dust the house, vacuum the carpets, change the sheets, do the laundry. I tried not cleaning to this extent before our last trip and I thought about it the whole time. On the drive home I started to panic. Pathetic.

4. On the clean house note, I won't let people see my house without it clean, except the Foutches since they are always over :). A few months ago Jay and I had the flu and I had bronchitis as well. My wonderful mother-in-law offered to make us dinner, our favorite, her lasagna. It would take about an hour to cook. Instead of sleeping during that hour we mopped the floors, vacuumed the carpet, dusted, showered and lit a candle. Once again, pathetic.

5. If there is a new candy or gum out or a new way or marketing it, I have to try it. Just had Sour Mambas, pretty good. Taste the same just sour. Pomegranate gum was pretty good but it dissolved in my mouth, didn't hold it's "gum" texture. Weird.

6. I'm a horrible eavesdropper. Jay and I will be out to dinner and having a conversation and I will start telling him what the couple three tables down are talking about. I also can't help but read papers on other peoples desk. It's not my fault. Really it isn't. It all goes back to my reporter days.

I tag: Brittanie, Lacey, Katelyn, Marci, Missy, and Lyndee.

Hodge Podge

It's been a while since my last post. There hasn't been a lot going on in our lives and what has been happening hasn't been stuff I've wanted the whole world to know about. We are doing well though.

This past weekend we took off and headed south. We went to Sun Valley. My family was there for the long weekend and we spent some time with them. I can never get enough of my family, especially since they live 8-hours away. We had a great time. We went to the famous Wagon Days Parade, no motorized vehicles just lots of horses. On Monday everyone went home and Jay and I stayed for an extra day. It was nice to relax and be together. It was very cold, it snowed in the mountains but thankfully not at the house. I think it's going to be a very long, cold winter.

We were only gone four days but apparently that was long enough to be out of the loop. As soon as we got back into town Jay's mom, Debbie, updated me on the happenings. I'm glad someone keeps me in the loop. Looks like we'll be making salsa this weekend, I'm so excited!
