Birthday Bliss

Jeffrey planned a day full of surprises for my 24th birthday. It really was the best birthday I've ever had!

First he brought me breakfast in bed (a tradition my mom did for us growing up)

Then we drove down to Santa Monica beach and walked around on the sand, laid on the grass and just chatted/people watched. (And maybe tried to take too many pictures of ourselves...)

Then he brought me to Chart House in Malibu for a sunset dinner by the beach!

THEN we went over by LAX right where the planes land and watched planes fly over us for a while. We'd been wanting to do that for so long because LAX gets some seriously big planes from overseas. They were so close we couldn't even hear each other talk when they flew over!

Not too shabby. Just laying on the grass looking at the palm trees.

As many of you know Jeffrey haaaates pictures. I took advantage of pulling the birthday card and tried to get a good picture. After a plethora of ridiculous selfies we ended up not agreeing on one. Worthless! Am I a little ashamed to put all of these on here? Absolutely.

Chart House is this delicious steak house that's located on the beach side of PCH. Right on the sand. So pretty and such awesome food!

Are you kidding? Best day ever. A very good way to turn 24 years old.

Zach and Kate's Wedding

In July the Westons/Wards/Bentzs all shipped out to Utah to go to Jeffrey's cousin Zach's wedding! He and his wife Kate got married in the Timpanogos Temple and had a beautiful reception in her parent's backyard. It was funny going back to Provo and seeing everything just as we left it.  I also had the opportunity to go to brunch with a few friends that I hadn't seen in a while which was a lot of fun.

Zach and Kate's wedding was beautiful. Beautiful bride and groom, amazing hand-made decorations, stunning flowers, and just a fun happy atmosphere of two families becoming one.

Love me some weddings. Especially with a fun couple like Zach and Kate!

A Little FYI...

For a while now Jeffrey has been working hard on transferring law schools. He did really well the past two semesters, he got a great internship for the summer months, and he applied to a ton of schools to try to see where he would get in. He got in to a lot of good schools which would present him with a lot of different opportunities. After weeks of stressful decision-making conversations, Jeffrey and I decided that University of Arizona was the best fit. It is ranked thirty-something in the nation. We are blessed with the opportunity to graduate with little to no debt. The only downside to this is that I have a great job out in Newport (which, as you may remember, took me 9 months to find. No hospitals like little to no experience on resumes). I am working the elusive and always-envied day shift and making nearly double than what I would make in Arizona.

Pretty lame.

So we both felt that it was right for me to stay in LA and work. Jeffrey moved a couple days ago to Tucson, Arizona to start law school over there. And we are making it work. It's not ideal, and there have been many tears shed (by me, poor Jeffrey. Nothing like calming down a crying woman), but it is what it is. I am just grateful to have a hard-working husband who can sacrifice so many things in his life so that we can have a positive future.

So anyway, that's the latest. I'm already counting down the days until he comes home next (10 days!). Thank you to all of you who have helped us in any and every way. We can't thank you enough!

Sorry for the novel! If anyone has any good tips on Arizona living, please let us know!
