NO, MINE!

I think Everett learned a new phrase from nursery.  NO, MINE!  And it's the funniest thing ever because he doesn't know how to use it correctly.  If something isn't going his way he'll just cry out, "NO, MINE!" For example:  "Everett, it's time for bed" "NO, MINE!" "You have to eat all of your carrots if you want a cookie" "NO, MINE!" "We need to brush your teeth" "NO MINE!" It's awesome. The other awesome things are his made up words For example: Milk= Boops or Bops Mom=Bee It's hilarious when we feed Brecklyn her bottle and he points at it and says "Boops!"and we always laugh because most of the time it sounds like boobs or poops.  He's just an awesome kid.  I mean really, what's not awesome about playing T-ball with the bat upside down and making you and your mom necklaces and then wearing them ...

Tutu Cute

She's two weeks, two days, and too cute.  She is back up to her birth weight which puts her at 35%, she's 50% for height, and 35% for her head.  I probably have a thousand pictures of her already so I'm sure there will be a picture overload here pretty soon. Some days I think she's so huge and then other days I feel like she is so tiny.  Now that she's back up to her birth weight I just stare at her and I can't figure out how she fit inside of me and how she came out! Making babies is the biggest miracle of all.  I'm still amazed that I have two of them!

Sweet Child Of Mine

It's only been two weeks but I can't imagine my life without this little darling in it.  She is sweet.... ohhhh so sweet! When Everett was born the nurses joked that we could throw away our baby monitor because he was so loud. He's still loud. Little Brecklyn didn't even cry for the first minute or so of her life. And when she finally did it was quiet and cute.  She really doesn't cry much at all. But she does grunt and squeak all night long even when she doesn't want anything. She just wants us to know that she's still here.  She really is the sweetest little thing! And it's a good thing she's so good... I've never worked so hard for anyone in my life!

Scooter Boy

When we said Hello to Brecklyn we had no idea that we'd be saying Goodbye to Everett as we knew him.  He's not a bad kid by any means and he loves Brecklyn dearly, he just changed into big brother mode I guess.  Or maybe it's just his age and what comes with it. All of a sudden he's more daring and reckless. Brave and a little crazy.  A few days ago we were in our front yard playing with the neighbor boy (same age) and they started to get a tiny bit out of control. So we went and got their scooters. Neither of the boys were very efficient on their scooters. Everett couldn't go more than 3 feet without crashing and Cian would get so frustrated and give up. But something magic happened... or maybe it was just a little friendly competition... but both boys seemed to figure out their scooters in a matter of minutes and we chased after our boys as they raced around the block several times.  They were even going down small hills ...

Heaven And Scorpions

It smells like heaven outside right now. I think it's the orange tree blossoms but I'm really not sure. Whatever it is I wish to bottle it up and smell it everyday for the rest of my life! It's nice and warm out and the temperature of the pool is just about swimmable.  It feels amazing outside with the perfect warm breeze. Ideal for afternoon walks.  I would say it's heaven here right now except for one thing... This morning Everett and I were outside on the grass playing with his cars in his tent. The grass was a little wet so I put a blanket down.  About two hours later I picked the blanket up to hang on the clothes line to dry. It was then that I looked death right in the face.  No matter how many times I've seen a scorpion it still freaks me out and I get all weird for the next few hours. It just shakes me to the very core.  Our landlord swears that they only saw like 5 or 6 for the 8 years that they...

Love

Here is little Brecklyn Olivia at 5 days old.  Of course we are completely smitten and in love with her!

Our First Week... (and how I barely survived)

We've survived our first week as a family of four.  If I could sum it up in one word for myself... it would be EMOTIONAL.  Monday was great. Brecklyn was born at 7:32 that morning and the nurses took great care of us.  My mom and Everett stopped by around 9:30 and every time "baby sister" was mentioned Everett would come over to me at pat my belly. I don't think he understood that "baby sister" was an actual person until they came back to visit us again that night.  And even then he didn't want to get too close.  My mom was amazing and brought me homemade pumpkin bread and a mango smoothie. And she took our first 'family of four' picture. I look like death because I still hadn't slept since I woke up Sunday morning at 2:30 am anticipating labor. I slept a little that night while Jake hung out with Brecklyn but she ended up sleeping right next to me in the hospital bed for the rest of the night.  ...
