First Day of School

The boys rode their bikes with Chris and had a fantastic first day. Aaron said his teacher was so nice and Alex got to learn how to do a cursive letter "a". It was so nice to see them comfortable and confident on their first day.

August Around the House

After a very eventful July, we have been sticking close to home in August.

He loves to sit in is chair even though he doesn't eat anything. He has been gagging when any food touches his tongue.

Alex changed his first diaper. They were both very proud of themselves. Jacob looked like he was doing his good deed for the day by tolerating Alex.

Jacob will not leave our walls alone. Even though he appears to know its wrong, it keeps doing it. Below is a Before and After shot of our dining room

"Before"
Jacob has been drawing on the walls for months

"After"
I painted the wall

"After After"
Jacob drew on the walls again the day after we painted.

Paralympic Clinic

A couple Saturdays ago I had the chance to attend a Paralympic Track and Field Clinic put on by the City of San Jose Rec Program and the Paralympic Club here in Silicon Valley.

It was an amazing day. I had the chance to meet and be coached by Teresa Skinner. She is in London right now coaching the Paralymic athletes who are competing August 29 - September 9th. She was so so so helpful. In only an hour she helped me with my stroke so much. The few things she taught me will stay with me forever and probably keep me racing faster and longer.

Watch the Paralympics online starting August 29th

I also had a quick Javelin and Shotput lesson from World Record Holder Angela Madsen. It was super fun to get up on that little seat and throw stuff as far as I could. I used many new muscles. I hurt afterwards.

Our Family

It took a trip to Santa Cruz on a beautiful night to get this shot, but it was worth it.

Jacob Turns 2!

How adorable can this little guy get? For his party we stayed at the house, had his nursery friend families over for dinner and games. In lieu of a gift, everyone brought a 2 year old friendly finger food to share. So we all ate like 2 year olds and played games.

Our newest game invention was a fishing game where the kids had a fishing pole with a magnet on the end of the string. We had our kiddie pool full of inflated balloons that each had a coin inside and a paperclip on the tied end. They used the fishing pole to reel in the balloon with the biggest coin currency. Of course Alex checked them all to see which one had the 50 cent piece.

The kids had a great time and only a handful ended up swimming the kiddie pool instead of fishing.

My latest favorite - the layered ice cream cake where we formed into a number 2.
