Thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving, all! We are just getting ready for dinner with Josh's family. This year we are dining on apple-smoked turkey, home made cranberry sauce, stuffed mushrooms, and, of course, the traditional Mountain Dew from the gas station. Hope yours is great too!

Blogging is hard...

So I'm blogging from my phone to see if it's easier. Here's Gehry at the burger place. Let's consider this a test post...

9 Month Photos

Gehry is 9 months old! He's at a cute stage where he crawls everywhere, stands against chairs, grins at everything... so we decided to capture all of this adorable-ness with a photo shoot. These are from Fotofly, which I highly recommend. They are great! I loved my photographer and I love all the pictures. I really did try to narrow it down to my favorites...

Events of Summer

Where did summer go? I have to go back to school in a week and a half! We packed a lot of fun stuff into our summer. Here's a little of it:

1. I went to Girls Camp while Gehry played with Shannon, Brady, and Jackson.

2. We ate BBQ (well, Gehry didn't...). Josh, Grandpa Gleason, some uncles (I think), and Gehry went to a BBQ competition in Heber Valley... I don't know the details, but there was a lack of planning and so the vendors couldn't serve food. BBQ fail. Then they went to some BBQ place in Utah Valley and all was well.

3. We celebrated Strawberry Days. Gehry learned to clap just in time for the parade!

4. I went to the Common Core Academy (pretty much a week-long conference for work).

5. We threw a baby shower for Kourtney, which was pretty awesome. I'll have to post pictures later. And, by the way, we have 3 new baby girls in our neighborhood! Yay for girlfriends!

6. We picnic-ed. Our family took a little day trip to Logan for Zoe's baby blessing. Here we are at a picnic in the park afterward.

7. We wore red, white, and blue for the 4th of July! Gehry was not impressed with the fireworks. He loved his flag though! Thanks, Mandy!

8. We fished in Alaska! I have 106 photos from Alaska, so it deserves its own post. But here is my favorite. Salmon the size of an 8 month-old baby!

9. Josh graduated with him MBA from U of U. We'll post more on that later. And he has a new job!

10. I went to Youth Conference in Oakley.

11. We splashed at the splash pad.

12. We swam at the pool and hung out with lifeguards! Actually, we're taking lessons now at the pool where Scott works.

We've been having so much fun! Hope your summer is just as great!

5 Years

Yesterday was our 5 year wedding anniversary! Josh is great at giving the "traditional" anniversary gifts. For example, for our 1st anniversary (the "paper" anniversary) Josh gave me scrapbook paper. This year is the "wood" anniversary, so we went window shopping for a bedroom set. Since we were in Orem anyway, we stopped by Terra Mia for dinner. Have you been there? If not, go to their website now! It is my very favorite restaurant.

Please excuse my face. I am sans-makeup here because I just got back from girls camp.

Our yummy pizza. It's the Francesca's pizza-- mozzarella, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and prosciutto.

Caprese "salad." I love that mozzarella cheese, basil, tomatoes, and bread is called a salad.

The two cutest boys ever. I love them both to pieces! The last 5 years have been perfect!

We've Been Lazy

Very, very lazy. But I'm going to try to update more for the grandmas. There are A LOT of posts below, so check out our recent goings on!

Sometimes I Make Things

I've developed a new talent that doesn't involve butter or sugar... just yarn.

I started just making hats, which I love! When I was 12 I tried to crochet blankets. Skip was always so good at making afghans and I wanted to be just like her. But making blankets sucks. It takes WAY too long. By the third day of crocheting I was bored with the pattern and color of yarn so I just quit. I had a closet full of unfinished afghans. But hats are much more fun. They have fun patterns to follow and stitch up pretty quick. I made this one for Gehry and I've made a few for cousins and friends. Then I discovered crocheted stuffed animals:

This is a pink giraffe for Gehry's cousin, Zoe. Not a great picture, but the giraffe is stinking cute.

A turtle for Clover for her birthday.

And a little puppy for Gehry since this is the only pet he'll ever have :)
