Trick or Treating!

Date: Oct 31st

We just love Halloween!!
It was finally time for the real trick or treating!
Bring on the second set of costumes! lol

Laiky chose to be a rainbow dragon!

Eastlie was a little butterfly...or maybe a chubby butterfly!

And she definitely wasn't wanting to stay still to take her pre-trick or treating picture!

The Fords walked over to our house and we started the night together!

Then away we went!

Our neighborhood is awesome and SO festive!

A street just a bit down from us is "the" place to be! 

It's so packed with kids and families

and everyone has a blast!

And it doesn't hurt that most of the houses give out full size candy bars!!

So all the kids are in sugar heaven! :)

We sure missed Anden and Taylee who were trick or treating with their Dad this year.

But they usually end up ditching us "slow people" to run off with their friends anyway! lol

And I guess it really confirms that I'm as slow as the little girls when Grammie

told me I'm too chatty with the neighbors, just grab the candy and go! haha

Hey they're all my friends, I still want to chat with them too! ;)

Anden dressed up as a Fortnite character and Taylee was a deer again!

The littles lasted way longer than we thought they would.

So we got back home about 7:45pm.

We let them examine their candy for a bit and then dumped them in bed 

Then the adults chilled out by the fire pit, drank apple cider and chatted for hours.

Such a fun night!!!

Trunk or Treat

Date: Oct 26th

Oh how I love our church Trunk or Treat!

Mainly because it's when I can still convince my crew to dress up

in family theme costumes!

This year we were "The Herd".

I had a couple of ideas but was swamped planning Eastlie's birthday party.

So 3 days before the event I hurried and finally got all our costumes ready.

Yes that means I even made all the deer antler headbands! 

I had a vision in my head and nothing in stores measured up!

(yes I am my own worst enemy most of the time! lol)

So here we are!

And yes I was beyond giddy when I saw how adorable everyone looked! lol

 

And then Eastlie ripped off her costume, threw it and ran away! lol

The herd is one short!

No worries, we'll carry on without her! haha

The kids all had so much fun running around with their friends!
I love that we have such a good ward!

 

I didn't even see the "older boys" all night!

They had their own posse cruising around!

Finally I tracked them down and made them take a picture!

They're so funny.

They were all on the stairs of the church already at the candy swapping stage of trick or treating!

I'm like c'mon boys there's still tons of candy to collect.

The little kids totally outlasted these older kids! lol

By the end of the night we looked like this! lol

I guess that means it was a successful night

when you're laying on the pavement! lol

We took our usual car selfie on the drive home. lol
