A Little Light Dusting

You know the saying "when the cats away the mice will play"? So true as it turns out. Last night, while I was out for the evening the twins decided to do a little light dusting....of the entire house! Fortunately, Jer had it all cleaned up before I got home, in fact I didn't see a trace of baby powder anywhere, I just couldn't figure out why he decided to clean out the baby bag? It wasn't until I sat down at the computer and saw this picture that I realized what had happened. Way to go twins, keep Dad on his toes!

The Pig's Tail

One of the reasons I've looked so forward to having a daughter is so I can do her hair. I love all those beautiful little girl styles, curls, ribbons and bows.....come to find out, it's hard. Addison has finally grown enough hair to pull off a couple of simple little pig tails, but as you can see, I need some practice. She sat like such an angel while I wet and combed her hair over and over, she remained patient while my giant fingers tried to capture her hair in those tiny little rubber bands. Her hair is so soft and shiny, like little golden locks, it has a natural curl and bounce to it so the pig tails curled all on their own.

I think she looks so cute and so do her brothers, however poor Grey followed me around for an hour after we debuted Addi's new do, crying for me to do the same to him (of course, I'm under strict orders NOT to put things in Greyson's perfect little red head of curls) So bring on the advice, I need it, I have a beautiful little princess!

Kid Cave

As each day passes my beautiful children grow, and grow......and grow. Jer and I built this house nearly 7 years ago in the months before we got married. At the time the 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and spacious living areas seemed more than adequate, the fact that we had no basement to grow into seemed irrelivent, because we had a 3-5 year plan to move on to some place bigger. We never intended to have four children in this house. Yet, here we are. It's not bad for the most part, we have plenty of bedroom space, the boys have bunk beds and the twins still share a room half blue, half pink. The problem we've run into is there's no where to play. During the summer months we use our amazing backyard as an extension of our house, and the kids can play outside safely for hours. However, winter is cold, and were continually running into the problem of no where to play, that's when we came up with the "kid cave" Jack actually named it that and it's stuck. You know that little room under the stairs? The one that would actually lead to the basement if we had one? Well, I cleaned it out shortly after Christmas and hired an electrician to install a couple of lights and a switch and VOLLA! The kid cave was born.
I told the kids they could paint hand prints on the walls and then totally forgot about it....or maybe blocked it out, the combination of kids and paint really make me nervous. Either way, last week Jack with his stellar memory and all reminded me of my promise again. So we packed up and went to the craft store, everybody picked out their paint color (would you believe they had no pink?!)

We waited for Jeramie to come home, I needed all the help I could get with wet paint all over. It was great, everybody enjoyed it, even Jer and I got in on the action. We stripped the kids down to minimize the paint damage and let them go! When they finished we dumped them one by one into the tub.
Anyway, the Kid Cave is born, I love it, the kids can play all day, drag toys all over and if someone comes over I can quickly shove all the toys into the cave and shut the door! And the house is mine again and no one is the wiser. So until we can find a way to move into something that meets our needs a little better we're making use of every square inch of our great little house!
