Dallin's 7th Birthday

I can't believe that our sweet boy is 7!
Dallin is an amazing boy. We couldn't ask for him to be better.
He loves school and is great at reading, spelling, and math.
He is so caring and goes above and beyond to help his sisters, and us.
He gets a little anxious about things sometimes, but that shows us how attentive he is.
Dallin, We love you so much!

For his party he wanted a science theme.
My brother in law drew this picture of Dallin as a scientist.
(Chris actually drew a whole book about Dallin being a scientist.)
Then my amazing Mother in law made it into this awesome cake.

I borrowed a few things from the science department at school and Brian was a good sport to help me be the scientist.

We did a few different experiments through out the party.
We started with exploding bags, Dallin was a little scared that it would blow up on him.

We also made slime, and homemade bouncy balls. A little messy but a lot of fun.
We had lunch too, with a fun experimental drink.
Flavored ice cubes in sprite to make a new flavor.

He got a ton of fun gifts from his friends, cousins, grandparents that were there.
Skylanders game and figures, Doctor Dreadful experiment kit, remote controlled helicopter, a Jimmer jersey and ton more. This kid is spoiled.
We got him a motorized scooter. It took him a few times around the cul de sac to get used to it, but now he is a pro.

It was a boys only event, except for his little sisters.

After the gifts and some play time, we finished off with a diet coke volcano.
I wasn't that great at it, so it was kind of anti-climatic.
But still super fun.
Dallin, We love you more than words!
You are amazing!!

March 2012

The weather has been pretty warm for this time of year and the kids have been outside a bit.
Tayah was playing with chalk while Dallin was shooting hoops.  We came out to find this on our porch!
It took her forever to do and I can't bear to wash it off because she is so proud of it.
So when you stop by in August and it's still there... tell her you love it.

Dallin got to play basketball this season, which he loved.
He played with Griffin, and Griffin's other cousin Drake.
Dusty and Nick were the coaches.
It was so fun to watch and he worked so hard.

St. Patrick's day was on Saturday this year, so on Friday night the kids spent a bit developing their leprechaun traps and set them out in the living room.
They wanted to sleep on the floor next to them, but I convinced them not to.

The leprechauns got trapped, but somehow they were able cut a hole in the boxes to get out!
The leprechauns left them some goodies for their efforts.
The kids were super excited, even though it wasn't their gold.

Then they found this in the toilets, Dallin and Tayah thought it was hilarious.
Those sneaky Leprechauns!

Skiing

Brian and I bought a pass this winter that allowed us to take the kids skiing for free at Wolf Mountain.
Neither of them had ever been, so we were super excited to take them up.
The first time we went, we spent the day on this tiny run, with a magic carpet.
So no lift involved and a very gradual slope. It allowed them to get used to the skis.

Tayah was our little ski bunny, and took right to it. She loves it!

Dallin did great also. He was a little more cautious, but I think that is because of his age.
He did amazing though, and loves it too.

The next time we headed up, we moved to the bunny hill, which included a lift ride. The first time down was a little rough, because it is slightly steeper and was a little icy, but we made it down and then headed right back up. From there, they caught on fast and had a wonderful time.
Me, Tayah, and Brian on the lift.

We were super lucky to have Grandpa Dell come up with us both times. It was great to have him there to help during the hard times, because advice always sounds better coming from someone other than your parents! Plus he is an awesome Grandpa!
Brian seemed to be the camera man, but this lift ride is Grandpa, Dallin, and Brian.
Can't wait to go again next year!

Christmas is finally here!

This year Christmas fell on Sunday. Which makes it extra special.
We had 9 o'clock church, but the kids were up super early anyway.

They are always so excited to see what Santa brought.
Some of the big prizes this year, were bikes for Tayah and Dallin and a new stroller for Quincey.
They got a ton of other things too, Santa really needs to slim it down next year!

After church, we went to Brian's parents house for brunch and presents.

Bailey gave Tayah an American Girl doll, which she loves!

Dallin got a Wii game from Korbin. And Quincey got some super cute clothes from Sammy.

It was a wonderful Christmas and I am so thankful for Christ's birth and life!
What a blessing it is to know that.

Christmas Eve

We headed over to my parents house on Christmas Eve.

The cousins draw names and give each other a gift.

Grandpa and Grandma give them a little gift too. This year, they got cozy blankets with their names on them and some money from Grandpa.
We end the night, with PJ's from Brian and I.

All ready for bed.

Quincey at 6 months

Our sweet little girl turned 6 months, on Christmas Eve.
I can't believe the time has gone so fast.
Quincey, you are an amazing baby and so smiley!
We can't get enough of you.

At six months, you can sit up and like to lean forward and rock.
Not quite crawling, but close.
You love to eat anything we give you, even your veggies.
You still have trouble sleeping, you wake up a few times a night to get your binky or to eat.
Other than at 2:00 AM, you are a happy sweet girl and we love you very much!

Your Stats:
Weight: 15 lbs 11 oz (40th percentile)
Length: 27 inches (87th percentile)
Head: 16 inches (6th percentile)

Santa Overload!

We had so many experiences with Santa this season. Even if he is suffering from Dementia, I am sure by after hearing it 4 times, he got it!

We went to see him at a store first.

We are super lucky that Santa stops by our house, usually right before bed. He brings a small treat and reminds them to be good.

Santa came to the Barker Family Party too.

He came to the Costley party, when my camera died, so no pictures of that visit.
If this isn't exhausting, I don't know what is!
