helmet head

Well, looks like baby sis has to wear a helmet after all.  Here she was getting scanned for the helmet.  They said I have to buzz her hair!  :(  I am going to beg them not to make me.  But, I guess we'll do what we gotta do to get her flat head in check.  They also said she'll be wearing it for about 3 months... could be less, could be more.  And, she has to wear it 23 hours/day!  Should be interesting!    

 She just sat there and let them go to work on her little head.  Sweet girl.

 And she has started baby food!  Of course she loved it.  So far we've tried rice cereal and squash.  Both a success.  I peeked in her mouth the other day and noticed her 2 lower teeth poking through!  Just over 4 months... this seems really early to me!  And she hasn't even been fussy.

Claire at 4 months

Holy chubba!  Claire officially weighs as much as Davis weighed at 6 months old.  This happy girl is tipping the scales at 19 lbs 4 ounces.  She is off the charts for weight and height (26").  She continues to be the happiest baby ever, still the best sleeper, and is giggling and squealing left and right.  She really is the sweetest girl!

And that dimple... I just can't stand it!

 

 

This poor girl's back of her head is pretty darn flat, so I have to take her to a specialist soon to see if she will require wearing a helmet to fix the shape.  Third baby has spent too much time lying on her back while I take care of the rest of the household.  Kinda feeling like a bad mom, but what can I do?  I have two wild boys!  Oh well... hopefully we'll get it taken care of.  And Claire could totally rock the helmet head if need be.  :)

Here are our last minute Halloween costumes at the ward trunk or treat.  I had a silly Swat costume for Noah, but of course he wanted to be this ridiculous spiderman that he convinced my mom to buy for him when she was in town the week before.  Davis was going to wear Noah's shark costume from a couple years ago, but he was afraid of it.  And Claire doesn't get a costume this year.  Maybe next year we'll get creative and think about it before the day of.  I always just hate spending money on a costume that they're going to wear for one day, especially for an infant.  Oh well, next year... next year...

 Last weekend we took the whole gang to a Miami Heat game.  We definitely did not fit in with the crowd, and it was pretty crazy with all three little kiddos, but Noah had a good time.

 

 Davis and Claire were scared to death of how loud it was at first, but I finally got Claire to fall asleep, and Davis got into the game once it started.  Davis also managed to spill my ridiculously overpriced dinner all over us, so we smelled like salsa and onions for the rest of the night.  I think the people around us thought we were crazy, or had a kick out of watching Grant and I corral the kids within our seats.

 

 It will definitely be something to remember.  :)  

The Kiddos

Claire is 3 months! {tomorrow}

 Noah got himself all ready for picture day at preschool.  I think he was pretty happy about not having to wear a uniform.

 Davis is still unsure of the weird grass here in Florida.  Crabgrass?  Is that what it is?  I don't know, but I think it feels pretty weird myself.

Doc visit

Today was one of those days I really wish we lived by family, or had a nanny so that I didn't have to take ALL of my kids to the doctor's office.  Or maybe just have Mary Poppins around.  Wouldn't that be nice?!  Grant's insurance just kicked in for his new job, so I finally took Claire for her two month and Davis for his 18 month appointment, even though they are almost three months and 21 months.  Both had to get shots, and it was not fun!

 
 
Claire has officially surpassed Davis' weight at this age!  She will be 3 months next week and is 16.5 lbs.  Literally off the charts for weight.  Her height was 24", 75%.  Grant thinks she has a wiener dog body with a long torso and short legs.  Poor girl.  ;)

 Davis is totally thinning out and has no chub anymore!  Sad, sad day.  I loved his beefiness.
The big guy was 29 lbs, 75% for weight, and 95% for height today.  ...And so cute on that big scale.

And here are some of the screams when I had to take away the ipad.  I'm so glad I brought it though... because we were there for TWO hours!!

All in all, I am glad we got this done and over with and am SO glad we have insurance again.  I have been so paranoid that something really bad would happen those last couple months!  Claire and I did cobra with our last insurance for a couple months, basically just to cover her birth, etc, and just for the two of us it was $1200 a MONTH!  So insane.
Glad that's over with!

Noah has been taking tennis lessons twice a week and is loving it.

 

 

I have to keep Davis busy with the ipad or my phone during lessons, otherwise it is too tempting for him to run out on the court after all of those tennis balls!  We get sweaty just sitting there watching Noah; Noah finishes each practice with a beet red face and super sweaty hair.

 Noah thinks he's Grant getting ready for work.  Except Grant usually wears pants.  ;)

 Davis is loving getting out any book lately and reading.  He is such a funny guy.

 And this little girl is still as happy and rolly as ever!

 

2 months

Baby girl will be two months tomorrow!  She is such a happy, easy baby.  Praise the heavens above!  :)  She   is pretty much sleeping through the nights now, and is still a great eater.  I stopped nursing a couple weeks ago, and the transition was effortless for her.  As long as she gets some milk, she's golden.  I think it's all going to her arms too, because look at those rolls!  I couldn't choose just one picture, so here are a bunch of sweet, happy Claire girl.

 

 Her first {mini} ponytail (below).  We've been trying different looks on her, but her wild locks like to go straight to a faux hawk.

 This picture cracks me up (below).  Look closely in the background and you will see a shirt-less Davis chowing on some of Grant's amazing homemade popcorn.  

 She loves to be held and snuggled.

She was the best surprise ever!  Love, love, love this baby girl!

Preschool

Noah started his second year of preschool last week.  Florida has this awesome free voucher program where kids can go to certain preschools (most of them private) for FREE!  Last year he just did preschool through the parks district in Chicago, and it was great, but it was a lot more low key than the Montessori preschool that he's at now.  He has had homework just about every night!  And how cute is his little uniform?  The uniform is actually so great for him, since he has major OCD when it comes to his clothes, and he likes to change about 5 times a day.  This way we don't have to argue about what to wear to school now!

The best part is that it's every day for 3 hours!  Just what he needs, and just what this mom needs.  :)

 

Funny thing is... this kid can already read!  He still needs help with some words, but he is a super star 4 year old and is so smart.  Here's to a great school year for our little buddy!

My sister, Camille took some pics of Claire while we were in Utah.  Here she is at 5 weeks old.  She is already changing so much, now that she is 7 weeks.  She is more alert and already smiling a bit... so many changes in just two weeks! Wish I could bottle her up like this forever.  She is so sweet, and we can't get enough of those rolls and wild hair!
