1 year check-up

Ryah had her 1 year check up with Dr. Andresen yesterday.  She did very well considering she is a very active little girl.  The nurse completed her height and weight- no problem, but Ryah didn't want anything to do with Dr. Andresen listening to her tummy or looking in her ears.  Dr. Andresen is so relaxed and easy to talk to- and spends so much time with Ryah (I am sure he does this with all his patients, but it is so nice to see a physician take time for his patients).  Ryah received 3 shots and had her finger poked today.  She cried for a little bit, but then realized she had a snack waiting for her for being such a brave little girl!

Here are Ryah's 1 year stats:

* Height:  31 inches (94 percentile)
* Weight:  21 lbs 12 oz (58 percentile)
* Head Circum:  47cm (93 percentile)

At age 1 Ryah:

-loves to read books and turn the pages
    -loves going for walks in her wagon or stroller
        -walking by herself (with an occasional fall down)
             -likes to hide in cupboards
                  -still drinks from a bottle (not at daycare though)
                       -likes her paci at night
                            -hates having clothes or diaper changed
                                 -loves her Curious Buddies movie
                                      -pretends to talk on the phone
                                          -plays peek a boo on a nightly basis

Her new words are:

I couldn't resist putting this picture on here.  Someday she probably will kill me- but I think it is so cute.  On Sunday we were outside by the pool with Alisa and took a little break to eat spaghetti o's and this is how Ryah wanted to sit! Alisa and I couldn't help but to laugh at her.

BiRtHdAy PaRty!

Happy 1st Birthday to My Little Princess!  We had a celebration for Ryah's birthday this past weekend.  On Saturday afternoon, everyone came over for burgers, hotdogs, the fixings, and drinks!  We had a good time, even though we were stuck inside because of the awful heat index!

This little stinker knew exactly what this present was for before opening it!  She sure made us all laugh when she sat right down on it.  It was so cute- Ryah pretended like she was going to let Michael sit on her new couch with her- but instead she decided to try to push him off.

Daycare Birthday Party

On Wednesday Ryah had her daycare birthday party. After naptime, the kids all gathered around the table for cupcakes and ice-cream. Missy, Rhonda, and Robin are such wonderful daycare providers. They hosted a wonderful party for Ryah. After cake- it was time to open presents from all the kids at the daycare. At first Ryah was hesitant about opening the gift bags, but after the 3rd present- she realized there were goodies in the bottom of the bag. Ryah loved all of her books, puzzles, toys, and outfits that she received! Thanks Missy's Daycare and all the kids for making Ryah's birthday so special!!!!

Look Who's Walking

I can hardly believe it~ it was like it happened over night! Ryah was crawling one minute and then next thing I knew she was getting into a standing position and was taking a couple of steps. How did my baby grow up so fast? sniff sniff!

It is so fun to watch Ryah try to walk on her own. She gets super excited and will let out a squeal when she gets up and going. It won't be long and she will be walking all over the place. I tried to get a couple pictures of her walking- but the minute she would see me with the camera- she would lose focus and fall over.

Happy 4th of July

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!  My little sassy pants wanted to show you a picture of how she behaved on the 4th!  Temper tantrums are becoming a daily thing at our household!  (I am going to say she gets this from her dad, but I am afraid it comes from me as well!!!)
