Happy Birthday Baby!

I'm still sick so unfortunately Kirk didn't get a lot of hoopla, but it was a good day nonetheless! He began his birthday with a hunt for his gifts. I got him a computer game called The Orange Box, he has been playing it and absolutely enjoys it. He received a fun card game and gift card, too. He picked Chipotle to eat for lunch. We went to a church activity for dinner and then tore into a cookie cake at home!

Happy Valentine's Day

Today could have been a lot worse! The bad thing is that I'm sick with strep. The good things are the chocolate and card I got from my dear hubby this morning, the time he took off work this afternoon to help with Bruce, the grocery shopping he did while out picking up my medicine, going to get our taxes done (hooray for refunds!), and the Chinese food he brought home for dinner. I guess I'm saying that what could have been a terrible day actually turned out okay.

What a week!

Usually not much of note is going on around our home, but this past week has been the exception.

~Tuesday Bruce went for his 4 month appointment. He weighed in at 16 pounds 11 ounces and is 26" long. If you've seen him you'll agree that he's got some beefy arms, but nothing to be concerned about. Not much unusual there, but the week wasn't over.

~Our friends, Meredith and Eric had an adorable baby boy. Number 3 (or 4 if you count Eric) for their family! You can check out her blog under sites I frequent. I can't wait to go see him!

~Saturday I went to participate in the caucus. It was a neat experience. I'd recommend getting involved in this process whenever you can. I saw the reports of frustrated voters who overwhelmed the locations on Tuesday so I was expecting long waits and chaos. Not so!

~Moving right along through the weekend...We've come to realize, through certain activities, that our parakeets are female and male. Yesterday evening I found an egg in the bottom of the cage! I felt bad for removing it, but we do not need more animals to take care of! A baby, some birds, and a husband are enough for me for now! I wonder how many more eggs will come because an article I read indicated that keets will lay every other day, laying about 4-6 eggs..eek!

~I finally got my stamps in the mail that I bought off e-bay. One of my hobbies is making cards and scrapbooking. I bought three sets of Stampin-Up stamps for under $15, not bad! Thanks e-bay! Maybe I'll post some of my projects sometime.

~And lastly, a milestone for Bruce....he rolled over today!! I could tell that he was getting close. He could go from laying on his back to his side and I've seen him go from his side to his stomach, just not all at once. Today he did it twice with us watching. Way to go Brucie boy!

What Else?

So this new background and new title got me thinking. What else have I been wanting to change? What else in my life do I need to improve upon? Well, I know I have lost enthusiasm to consistently exercise (I know, I know...no big surprise). Hmm, when it gets warmer out? I know that I feel better when my life is balanced...you know with family, self, spirit. On a side note, have you heard about the Hinckley Challenge? Check it out! President Hinckley always encouraged us to be a little better than we were yesterday. I guess I won't list everything that needs work in my life, but it definitely has gotten me thinking...what else?
