Friday, April 27th brought the most incredible gift! Thomas and Laura's little girl arrived healthy and strong and beyond gorgeous! We are beyond delighted! Laura had a very easy delivery, her body is amazing, her spirit strong, her personality spectacular and wow, does she cook a beautiful babe!
She doesn't have a name yet but her grandpa calls her Luscious Little Ferrin (perhaps in keeping with his own initials :) at least until she has a name - she is luscious, delicious, absolutely perfect!)
She weighed 7 lbs 2 ozs and was 20 inches long. Laura pushed for about 7 minutes - I'm telling you, this woman is magic, made of pure gold!
A grandma! I'm a grandma! I title I will happily wear!
Here's photo overload :)
Enjoy.
Laura made this little hat for her last summer and she looks cute as can be in it - except it covers up her incredible head of hair...she loves her hair, just like her daddy did. Thomas used to grab onto a hand full of his own hair and pull, and cry, not realizing he was causing his own pain. Her little fingers are very expressive, moving all the time - what baby is so expressive hours after birth? I'd be willing to bet she's going to be a thumb/finger sucker like her Aunt Abbie, she likes those hands near her mouth :)
We simply cannot get enough of her...this little girl will never lack for someone to hold, cuddle and adore her! I can only imagine the send of party as she entered this world! Of course, the welcoming party was plentiful as well! Laura's mom has been here for a week, Lindsay flew in yesterday morning and David, a childhood friend drove down from Rexburg as soon as he heard she was in labor. Grandpa Mitchell will be here soon. Talking about doting grandparents! I predict he'll fall head over heals in love with her as quickly as we did. How could he not! Not to mention, his baby girl just had a baby girl! A beautiful gift from our loving Heavenly Father.
Four generations!
Her little face in incredibly expressive! She'd have a sweet little look on her face but this is what we got - she doesn't like the flash! But she's got a cute little scowl - which quickly relaxes.
Look at this neck line of hair. That little spot of neck is Great Grandma's favorite place to kiss on a little one - or a not so little one :) a kiss on the back of the neck is pure love :)
Her skin is so soft, her hair, her long fingers, her perfect little body is just, well, perfect!
Mmmm, what a luscious little Ferrin!
More pictures to come!
We cannot get enough of this girl!
I think I need to kiss that little neck as soon as I see her this morning.
Welcome little miss!
Your mommy and daddy will choose the perfect name for you - something that fits just right. For now, your grandpa lovingly refers to your as Luscious Little.
