There's a birthday in the house!

It will be official tomorrow.

I can not even believe that another year has snuck up on us. This time we are celebrating the littlest man turning the big 1!! One! Seriously??

Excuse me while I reminise a little bit here...

One year ago today I was cleaning and scrubbing like a mad woman. Nesting away and driving my husband completely bonkers. I was worrying and anticipating having to check in to the hospital for our scheduled C-section the next day. I was going over and over and over the families schedule for the days I would be in the hospital making sure I did not miss one detail. I got all of my little girls outfits, bows, and matching socks planned and labeled with the appropriate day. If you saw how other people dress my children you would understand the importance of this. (Anyone know why I can not use my comma key and a Quick Find box pops up when I push the key? Possibly the result of kids pounding on the keyboard.) I had the meals planned and pantry stocked up to last several weeks. Things were in ship shape.

The next day, which is a year ago tomorrow, we spent our last day as a family of 3 indulging our daughter. Hubby and I headed out the door at 2:30pm for the hospital. We got there at 3pm to check in. I was in my room, prepped and ready to go by 5pm. At 5:23pm we got to meet our baby boy. The miracle of life is so amazing!

It has been a year of loving, laughing, yelling, and crying. That pretty much sums it up.

One year stats:
20 pounds
28 inches tall
Walked at 10-1/2 months
Loves to wave bye-bye
6th tooth is on its way in
Says "da da"
Favorite hang out is his big sisters room
Loves to push the buttons on the stereo...on, off, on, off, all day
Up every couple hours of every night, STILL!
Loves to play outside
Loves to roll balls
Loves to dance to a good beat
Points to what he wants
Gets VERY mad when he does not get what he wants

And one more thing... I am soooo close to having his room done. Finally!! This was the latest addition that I am in love with! I got the idea from Sarah. It is just scrapbook paper attached with decopague to some MDF board that the Home Depot guy cut down to size for me. Total cost was $10 for the boards and $1 for the paper.

Another Halloween down...

This year I was not very excited about spooktifying (is that a word?) the house. I think because we seem to be so busy with "stuff" these days that I just want a little R&R when we can get it. But once it was all up and halloween night came around I was sooo glad that it got done.

I get a lot of pleasure out of the kids that are too frightened to make it up to our door. Yes, it's true! I do! I love when we hear from the parents how proud the kids are of themselves when they finally have the year that they mustered up the courage to make the trek up to our door. Ahhh...so special.

Grandma and Grandpa stopped by to see the kids just in time to pass out our candy so that we could both take the kids our trick or treating. Here's a small glimpse of what went down for us...

And a few of the house...
