Life Lately

I'm experimenting a little with my blog so I thought I'd upload a few pics in process. The weather here has been gorgeous! Hopefully I can post some pics of our beautiful cherry blossom outing soon.

Happy Birthday, Kelsey! If you ask her what her name is, she says, "Kesey (or sometimes Sesey) Davis. Ask her how old she is. "One, two." Where do you live? "Nope." We are still working on that one. If you say, I love you pumpkin, she says, "I not a punkin." She loves to giggle and say "I get you." She is a keeper!

It is HOT!

Wow, it's hot here.  I'm just happy I don't have to be one of those people that commutes to work via public transportation in a suit (which is 90% of DC).  Kelsey and I have been trying to stay cool.  We spend the majority of our day at the pool or splash pad with friends and eat a lot of popsicles and smoothies.

A few Saturdays ago, we really enjoyed Corey without work and we lived it up.  It was a Daddy Date all day long.

And 4th of July was great!  Breakfast at the church, parade, naps, shopping and fireworks over our nation's Capitol, watched from the Iwo Jima Memorial.  Kelsey enjoyed the Pop-Its best, while we were waiting for fireworks to start.

Our Trip West

I realize these posts are way out of order.  Sorry!  You can start a few posts down and work your way up or just remember that it's in reverse order.  I'm too lazy to change it:)  Here's a recap of our fun trip to Idaho.

A few weeks ago, my little brother came home from a 2-year LDS mission, in Mesa, AZ.  We were so excited to fly west to greet him with the rest of the family.  Thanks to my college roommate and friend, Brynn (Whitefield Design), we had these cute shirts made for the kids.  Kelsey and Lucy had never met Doug and we were so excited to introduce them!  On top of going home for the reunion at the airport, Kelsey and I stayed a few weeks in order to hear his homecoming report at church.  In between the reunion and his report, Kelsey and I were lucky enough to tag along with my parents and brother on a trip back to Mesa to meet the people he worked with for two years.  It was incredible to meet these people and their stories.    

Back to IF.

After Arizona, we flew back to Idaho Falls for Doug to speak in church.  This leg of the trip was more exhausting, starting with the trip back from Phoenix.  We arrived at the airport only to find out they had just cancelled our flight.  We booked on a flight that was later in the evening, taking us to Vegas and then SLC.  There were delays and we almost missed the flight in Vegas.  Along with a tired girl and mom, Kelsey got sick on the last leg and proceeded to throw up about 6 times in the airport and on the 3 hour drive back to Idaho Falls.  It was a long day and late night.  We found ourselves at the dr. two days later because Kelsey was not sleeping at all and we found out that she had an ear infection.  Great.  One day later, I came down with a flu bug, possibly picked up from Kelsey's little bug or the doctor's office.  Who knows.   Two days later, I left.  It was an eventful last leg of the trip but still nice to be around family.  And Kelsey had the best time with her cousins and grandparents.  As usual, the trip flew by way too quickly.  Here are a few more pics with captions:

Guess who made a little friend?  Yes, after all the commotion died down, Kelsey warmed up to this guy.  At the temple grounds in Mesa.

D-backs Baseball!  G'ma bought her very own Sprite and she was loving it.  Did I mention this was taken at about 10:30 PM?  Sad story, we finally left after the D-backs looked like they would lose.  It was the bottom of the 8th and Kelsey was really tired after a day on the airplane and a late night.  As we were walking out of the stadium, they hit a GRAND SLAM! and scored two more, putting them ahead and winning the game!  All in the bottom of the 8th.  Oh well, at least we made it in time to watch it on SportsCenter Top 10.:(
