Apothecary Bottles

This backdrop is tentative ... Osprey was planning to make shelves, but I needed something to size the bottles up wiht, so I made shelves anyway. We have a fun dancing bottle act we are working on. Look for updates later!

Admiring My Work

I found an image of an old apothecary bottle online and made it tonight. I may as well keep working on the bottle sketch as I have little else to occupy my mind. I think it is quite handsome. I tried to upload its numerical label but the server was being uncooperative.

The Show Really Must Go On!

Our Director, Osprey Therian, has decided to step down (or back), and we are attempting to pilot the ship of our variety show on our own (we = Headburro Antfarm, Lucy Tornado and I).

The show has always been Osprey's project, and we worked hard at it. Now we will continue in a different manner.

We hope to have at least one show a month in our home theatre and one elsewhere, but we have not settled on a real plan yet.

Fashionista, Indeed!

This charming hat is actually a poseball (made by Osprey) in progress. While working on a new act for The Show Must Go On, I jumped onto this green thing, only to see it become a lovely chapeau.

The Show Went On ...

We had our last show for a little while today at the Eleanor Theatre in Phobos. This shot is us backstage. Osprey has her back to us, in her command center. We are all gaggling behind the barrier. Yes, I am sticking my tongue out.

Osprey's Supercollider Dance begins with her on the stage, dancing.

She then leaps up into the moving Supercollider, dancing with her veils on the very edge of the black hole.

She whirls, she twirls, she ... well, she doesn't crawl on her belly like a reptile.

Then BLAMMO, she is sucked into the black hole and never seen again!

Here is the view from the stage during our Cellophane Dancers number. The red lips in the air are RacerX Gullwing's gift to our world, lips that move when one speaks in SL. I have never seen them quite this large before.

Partly Particle-ization

Thanks to Jopsy Pendragon's Particle Lab, and Ferret Bjornson's Easy Particle System, I now have wine that pours for the TSMGO act Cooking with Margaux. If you look closely you can see the wine pouring into the frying pan.

Pals

Osprey and I are discussing the upcoming show at Dreams this Saturday, and in the background is the new Synchronized Knitters Unicycle Drill Team Track. It is a death-defying figure 8, tilted in two directions and elevated, requiring total concentration on our part.

Caught in the Act

Salazar took this great pic of The Droplettes in the midst of our act. To elucidate, this is a photo from inside a tiki bar drink looking at spilled Mai Tai. The droplets are dancing and so is the two-cherry, orange slice drink decoration.
Today Osprey recorded our act for posterity, whoever that may be.

I Fergott ta Tell Ya ...

IDA CAME BACK!!! One of the most delightful features of The Show Must Go On! is the friends I have made ... and one of the greatest artistes in our troupe is Miss Ida Keen.

I hope she can stay with us in the new show. She is having vertigo issues, so I am not sure she will be able to handle the Knitters! She was a big part of that collaboration, so it is ironic.

Final Show

We performed our complete show for the last time, at our home stage in Phobos. It went well, and the Humans were at their naughtiest!
For whatever reason, our show has attracted hecklers, and this performance was no exception. However in this case, we had one particularly unpleasant person who stayed after our show just to let us know she did not like it.
To (mis)quote a good friend: "If you are not a fun-loving sort, why attend a vaudeville show; then, realizing it is not to your taste, why stay through the entire thing?" Good question!
We created our acts as parodies of all sorts of entertainment, with opposites abounding. The dog trains the humans, a ballerina dances with a hippo, a gigantic snake gets loose in the audience. This is not Arthur Miller, folks, and if that is what you want, please go elsewhere!
From The Show Must Go On! website:
The Show Must Go On! is a traveling variety show featuring short acts strung together with no rhyme or reason. From the snappy dancing Droplettes to the meditative Undergrowth, the show takes advantage of the strengths of Second Life and aims to please. Although I won't get into descriptions, let's just say you will likely see things you have never seen before. Indeed, audience comments have indicated that some people had difficulty remaining in their chairs in real life, due to hearty laughter.

Cooking Show

I am working on a new act for The Show Must Go On, a cooking show. As you can see, cooking and cleaning are two different things!

Theatre at Heron Sanctuary

Salazar built this great theatre in Heron Sanctuary. It is the same basic design as the one in Phobos, our home base, but it is fully enclosed, to help prevent lag, which is debilitating to the actors.

Great build (as always), Sal!

Playing with my Friends

We had a The Show Must Go On rehearsal in our new stage at Heron Sanctuary and Madame Caramel was playing congas when Salazar and Osprey arrived. Sal is sitting on a bar of super dark chocolate that he later shared with us. The stage, built by Salazar, is enclosed in a brick building and it has a proscenium arch of sorts.

OK, OK I was not myself, all right?

I think that maraschino cherry was soaked in the sauce a little too long ...

Really, all I was trying to do was have a little expression on my face, but something went awry, badly awry.

SLCC Show Backstage Party

I think Lucy may have had a couple of Mai Tais too many. This is the troupe party tonight, and she seems a bit tipsy!

The Show Must Go On in Raglan Shire

Osprey asked me to build the stage at Raglan Shire. Most of the residents are tinies, so the stage is a little lower and the seats are small, although they do accommodate regular size avatars as well.

I went with the forest theme because this sim is nice and green and welcoming.

Stage at Planet Bohemia

Osprey asked me to build a stage for the TSMGO upcoming show at Planet Bohemia. I wa somewhat unsure of myself but with her help I built it. Last night I asked Vlad Bjornson, a fellow TSMGO'er, what he thought of it, and how it could be improved or changed. He suggested planets in the corners of the stage, and he later added starry borders on the walls, sun/moon images on the back wall of the stage, and groupings of planets in the corners. I think it looks terrific. I hope the audience is not too far from the stage to hear everything. I am sure things will be tweaked further, but I am so happy I did this build.

Performance Tips in Second Life

Presenting The Humans!

These lovely creatures perform in Madame Creme Caramel's Amazing Humans! There is only time for three performers in the act, but when one cannot appear due to unforeseen circumstances, the others will perform as understudies. I feel affection for them all, and I hope they will all do well.

Mme. Caramel is intriguing, but somewhat harsh. I think her years as a prison guard hardened her.

TSMGO Rehearsal Last Night

Apart from a sim crash, our rehearsal went very well! The Amazing Trained Humans Act has begun to take shape, Salamander Maroon rehearsed her comedy routine for the first time, we previewed the Shot from Cannon act by Hotspur, and we heard Dr. Fluxus by Young Geoffrion, although we have to wait to see the visuals.

Salazar has created a wonderful stage for us, and Lucy took over signage control from Ida; our newest Human, Caitlin, did very well indeed.I am very excited about the show!
