day 255
this week was a good one. hopefully p-day won't be as uneventful as last weeks but we did get a hair cut and i look smokin!!! naa I'm just jokin but it does feel very nice to do something to my hair instead of just comb it to the side. we met with a lady who had met with missionaries before but just never really stayed in one place for the missionaries to teach her so we are going to teach her on wed and hopefully we can get a baptismal date set before she leaves school. we are still on track with our one investigator who is going to be baptized on the 22 of April. he is so solid! he is now trying to already talk to his family about reading the book of Mormon. he has a twin brother that is at this same school and he is asking his brother (the investigator) questions and he is answering them! super crazy! as this last Sunday was fast and testimony meeting i was able to get up and share my testimony with the ward and i testified about the atonement and how the sacrament with that is able to clean our souls of the misdeeds and things that we didn't do that we should have done. i felt an overwhelming feeling as i prayed to Heavenly Father that as there is a grieving process the atonement should be a happy time because it means that we are able to be clean and be on the path that leads to eternal life. i know that our savior would want us to look at it as a happy and joyful time. i am so thankful for His atonement and what he made possible for every. single. person. i love you mom and dad and i am so thankful that you led me on the right path so that i can have a knowledge of the marvelous and beautiful plan of our Heavenly Father.
i am so stoked for general conference! i can't wait! this will be my second one since i have been out! i just turned 8 months on the 20th of this month and momma my click day in April which will be on when........? YOUR BIRTHDAY!!! haha just thought that would be funny. :) i am not doing so great at writing in my journal. i need to really start following up with that and writing every night.
oh man!! i can't wait to see that movie!!!! (hunger games) i have seen the magazines while shopping of the hunger games movie! so stoked!!! um i think spring might have been for every one. not just college. cause there were a lot of families gone during that time.
thank you so much for your comments about spending and investing time. our zone conference was super powerful and i just felt the need to share that with you all.

Where will you watch conference?
we will be watching conference at the church on Saturday and Sunday morning and then we will be watching the Sunday afternoon session at a members house and after are having dinner with them! they are a super sweet family!
Where have you noticed the Lord's hand most this week? (from Corin)
i think one thing that i've see the Lord's hand is with R. and with the sacrament meeting and with the atonement that He gave us to partake in.

hmm...prolly go play basketball and most likely play board games. maybe not. :)

i am most grateful for the examples in my life. as they experience things i am able to learn from those experience. john bytheway told his listeners about someone who had said that wise people learn from experience. even wiser people learn from others experiences. i am so grateful for you mom and dad and also for Jesus Christ and for the Book of Mormon and the experiences that are in there for us all to learn from.

day 249
this week has been super super super slow!!! so since we are on a college campus area every one and their dog was gone for spring break and i think some of them might still be! crazy! but now it has ended and there are tons of people back home and that we are able to see.
we stopped to see a lady that showed some potential and we were able to set up a lesson with her for friday i think, so we are excited for that. not much else has happend.
we are doing lots of potential work around here. they have an area book that has papers with all the potentials that said we could come back another time so we are going through that list and making it smaller.
not much else has happend. zone conference was yesterday and that was really good.
uhhh i don't really think i can smile as good as mr. rogers can.
well thats about it for now.
i think thats way funny that he went with dad and ty to the real game! (jonathon B. went to a real soccer game) i haven't played soccer in so long!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH i miss it!!!!!!! oh well. better blessings will come from having my eye single to the glory of god and doing this work. :)

day 249 Questions and Answers
How is your prospective baptism going? Oh yeah...it's not until april.
ha yeah its not for a while but we are super stoked! we have another lesson with him on thursday...i think. but super sweet! and our couple investigators just found out that she is pregnant! way cool and im super excited for them! they talked a lot about having a baby and now they really are!
Is it getting hotter now? Now that you have nice and warm sweaters? and a wool suit? It rained today but all this past week has been super nice..50's-60's.
haha you think thats nice this last week it has been in the 70's-80's! so super nice! but now its starting to cool back down and it raining a ton! but still around the 70's. so its been really really nice.
Best and worst this week?
mmmm...best this week was we had zone conference yesterday which is why im writing today but it was so super powerful. prolly the most spiritual one i've been too. talked about the difference of spending our time and investing out time. what do you think the difference is between those two are? this is open to the public...not just my momma. but mom and dad i want you to answer too. (If you put it in the comments I always relay what is said to Jensen so he's aware of who and what is being said)
What're you going to do today?
today we are prolly going to end up playing board games with the sisters at the church cause they can't really do anything else...or they don't like to do anything else. not that there is anything wrong with sisters...they are just kinda hard to play basketball with when we want to play for reals we have to kinda take it easy and on our p-day. we want to release all that energy!
we're getting ready to send another package...any requests?
well...lots of black socks. my sock keep getting holes in the toes and i don't really like that when we have to go into a memebers...or anyones and have to take our shoes off and theres a big...fat...hole in my sock that is showing off my beautiful webbed toes...hahaha that made me laugh just seeing that. :) john bytheway and motab. i have called to serve and praise to the man and the other ones that you sent me but any that you can get me would be stupendous! :) and maybe some...i don't know. just what ever you put in there will be awesome! :)
Favorite meals that YOU've made....hehe and someone else...
my favorite meal that i have made prolly has to be...either marshmallow mateys or peanut butter crunch. :) not very much to cook when your a missionary. and that someone else made was some chicken rollups that a family made and brought over with some gravy/soup that you poured ontop of it. made me think of the ones that you make. :)

day 241
well this week has been a good one. one of our investigators set his own baptismal date so i don't know what is better!
i am having a little bit of trouble with the bus system but other than that im doing really well. i will have been out for 8 months the next time i talk to you guys and i can't wait for it!! it has really flown by and i can't wait to see what happens next.
oh so next week we are having zone conference on monday so we will be email and taking our p day on tuesday the 20th. ummmm i don't know what else really has happened as of late but really i am excited for this area! well thats about it for now. sorry for such a short one.

day 241 Questions and Answers
Got any pictures??
hmmm...not any new ones lately. sorry.
The time change kinda messed me up? Did it you?
yeah. we got in at 8:30 when it was actually 9:30 so we had to go to bed a little rushed and we forgot to set our alarms and woke up at 7:30 instead of 6:30. haha accidents happen. so we ended up gaining that hour back but not purpously. :)
Do you keep up on any news? Like RSL? They had their first game last night and won against la galaxy who won the championship last year. it was 3-1
NO! i wish i did though. we don't really have any soccer fans here so its hard to stay up on the sports world. so if you could keep me updated on RSL that would be super duper awesome! and way to beat the champs!!!!!! WOOOHOOO

uhhhh...i don't think so. oh yeah one thing i had thought of a little while ago but forgot to remember it when i would email you guys was "tempura!" hahahaha "it was like battered veg!" elder briggs had it with some members right before i got here and told me how bad it was. hahahahahaha i laughed really hard and it was hard to explain it to him cause he had never seen it or heard of catherine tate. :) super funny.
Best and worst?
best would be that one of our investigators actually set his own baptismal date! we were teaching him about faith and then we paused like we are supposed to, to let the spirit testify to him of what the scriptures say and then he was like..."i have been thinking about baptism and i think i want to be baptized before i graduate and graduation is on may 5 so i was thinking about the 22 of april. would that work?" and we were just sitting there with our mouths open and had to realize what we were doing and then answer "yeah...that would be fine!" :) way sweet!! i can't really think of a worst this week. this week has been really good.
I've been concerned about you this week...you said that you feel lost. Why is that? Is it because you're going to miss Elder Briggs? Or that you will have to show someone new the area? Or why?
i just felt lost cause i had to see elder briggs go home and i don't really know whether or not he will decide to come back on his mission. i really hope so but it was just weird cause we spent a lot of time at the appartment trying to figure things out and calling people and going to see doctors and getting the bad news that he is going home. it was just weird having to send someone home who should be out here helping Gods childeren make it to the path of rightousness. but now im pretty good. Elder folsom is my new companions name and he is from corvalles, oregen. he has been out for 17 months now and just came from the des moines 2nd ward with amanda and levi hancock! ahhhhhhhh i wish i could see them! anyways....
Also..I'm hoping that Elder Briggs is in the picture of all the elders...Is he and which one is he? There are only two that are unfamiliar to me. A dark haired fellow and the tallest fellow. The other's I've seen in other pictures. Also is this your whole district?

day 236 Pictures!!

day 236 Transfer Week
oh yeah i did get your package and the shoes fit like a glove!!! awesome! and the suit and the cardagans are so awesome! i have had so many compliments on them! thank you so much mom!
and that is super funny about jonathan bayless. :) makes me smile.
well anyways...this week has been the craziest week on my mission. we have been up and down with emotions...super tiring and stressful. not much else has happened. we have had dinner every day this week and its only going to get crazier. i don't have much else to say but that we are trying our hardest every day to do our Heavenly Fathers work. i love you guys so much and am so thankful for all that you do for me. until next time,

day 236 Questions and Answers
What're you doing today for pday? Like everything...laundry etc.
ok so today we are going to story city to do our laundry and pack for elder Briggs. but prolly just doing that and driving up to ankeny tonight.
Do you sleep good?
uhhh...it goes off and on with my sleeping. some nights i sleep like a rock but other nights i toss and turn and wake up at almost every hour. but then im able to go right back to sleep after a few seconds or minutes. so it really depends on the night.
How are you feeling?
im feeling really lost right now. like...i don't know how to explain it.
How is Elder Briggs feeling? Is his shoulder better?
soooo...about that. that is the reason i feel so lost right now. he is going to have to go home and have another sugery because he tore his labrum. thats the muscle that holds your shoulder socket in place so his shoulder has been popping in and out of place. so super crazy right now. :(
Is Elder Briggs getting transferred?
nope...he's goin home tomorrow morning.
What has/is been your favorite thing about him?
he is super laid back and is really funny! he's going to give me his sisters address. oh have you gotten my letter to kelly yet?
Best and worst?
best was that we had a super sweet lesson yesterday with one of our investigators and we committed them to baptism. way awesome! worst was finding out that elder briggs had to go home.
