Memory in our New World... the Lighter Side

Here is a lighter Dry Bones cartoon from 2004. We don't remember phone numbers anymore. I still have a landline for emergency purposes, but if asked the number, I have to look it up. I don't remember the number of anyone of my close friends. It is all just stored on the phone. I am sure that the same is true for all of us. It is not dementia, it is hi tech.

I also want to say, a big "Thank You" to everyone who are supporting this blog, both with contributions and with words of encouragement.

I am truly blessed. Love, Sali

the Tip-Off

Dry Bones, cartoon, age, telephone, mobile, smartphone, texting, sms, seniors, Back in the seventies I did a Dry Bones cartoon series in the Jerusalem Post called "You Know You've Been Here Too Long When . . ." Those cartoons pointed out the various amusing ways that we newcomers had adjusted to living in our new country. I'm now adjusting to living in another strange new country, "old age".

So I thought of "You Know You're Old When . . . ".

Elderly Couple

Dry Bones cartoon: old age, memory, forgetfulness, senior moment
Introducing "The Elderly Couple". He's wearing a shoe-polish black hairpiece and she's long-ago given up on "coloring" her hair.

I did this cartoon after two days of searching for my wallet. I felt like a senile old geezer who'd lost his memory. So I drew this cartoon.

Good News! It turns out that my wallet was stolen! I didn't "forget" where I'd put it! So that's the good news.

It's also the bad news as I now have to start cancelling plastic and replacing my press card, national identity card, etc.
