Israel Day Parade in NY- Am Yisrael Hai

Today, Sunday, Is the big Israel Day Parade in New York. There has been a lot of controversy surrounding it this year. To be expected, I guess. Yaakov was very proud to have been a marshall at the parade in the very late 70s or early 80s. I forget exactly which year. I so hope that things remain peaceful and there are no problems or injuries. But I am worried, as it seems that there is a lot of bad news coming from everywhere these days. I have been very tempted to stop watching the news for a bit. But that will probably not happen. But I need some cheering up.

Stay optimistic! Much love, Am Israel Hai, from Sali

Wishing you health and happiness, peace and prosperity.

Mamdani Elected in NYC

Dry Bones Golden Oldie, by Sali the LSW. This Dry Bones cartoon was done in 2014, and I think maybe redone from an even earlier on that was in black and white. It looks like Mamdani was elected Mayor of NYC last night. Of course, the term Hamas needs to be taken loosely in this case, 11 years after the cartoon was created.

This posting was was very technically challenging for me as a few days ago, I stupidly opened an email from a friend that contained a computer virus and it infected the computer, which was the big 17" laptop of Yaakov's that all of you helped me to buy for him. I have been using it, and his Gmail for posting the cartoons. So the computer has been at my computer doctor and will still be there for a bit. It will  be OK in the end, but I lost a few cartoon files. Eventually I can find them again with a bit of work. The challenging part (other than lots of anxiety) is that I am using my 14" laptop for this, and I am not signed into Yaakov's Gmail on it which I need in order to use the Blog, which I was also not signed in on. I seem to have found a way to do it, but with a lot of experimentation and shaking hands. I normally Use Yahoo for my own emails, so am still not super familiar with Gmail. And I have never had to sign into the Blog at Blogspot before since his computer was already signed in.
Soooo, I hope that this posting works and goes out to all of you wonderful Dry Bones fans. I am an old woman and using all this hi tech computer stuff is a big stretch for me. I guess it is a growth opportunity that I should welcome, but I am shaking as I do this.
Thanks for still opening the blog postings and for still following and for your donations, that keep me going.
Much love, and blessings to you and your families.

Low Carb Diet (1987)

NY Kosher Deli food 1987 Dry Bones cartoon
Today's Golden Oldie is a cartoon I did 21 years ago. Back then, in the summer of 1987, I was off on a speaking tour in America ...in Israel we have Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food and so, of course, while in the States I made a pilgrimage to a NY Kosher Deli.

Last week, here in 2008, I was also off speechifying in the U.S.A. ...but a low carbohydrate diet now makes a bulging kosher NY deli sandwich and a heaping pile of potato salad a "no-no" for me!
