Halloween 2017 Mixtape

I have been putting together "mixtapes" for a few years now.  Not in the traditional sense, rather I pick and pull songs from YouTube and create a playlist.  I was creating themed playlists for every month of the year, but I got burned out on that.  Now I just create Halloween (and Creepmas) playlists every year.  I hope you enjoy these spooky tunes while you wash your dishes on a dark and stormy night.

Halloween Minecraft 2016: Hagatha's Witch Hut

I love the cackle of the Minecraft Witch!  

So, I decided to bag me a witch by tagging one and named her Hagatha.  She nearly killed me with a poison potion, but I was able to lure her onto a walled in property I had prepared.  I later had to lure her into a trap to contain her whilst I built a fine witch hut and cauldron area.  Now I can stop by anytime and say hi to my neighbor, only she's not very appreciative.  The old hag hit me with a potion of slowness while I was sheering my sheep.  How rude! 

Fun fact, did you know if a Villager is truck by lightning they are transformed into a Witch?  That's a rock fact!

Gingerbread (300th Post!)

This year my workplace held its first annual gingerbread contest. Despite starting the night before it was due I think it turned out well! Ava and I had loads of fun putting this together.  The bulk of the candy was leftover Halloween candy, all the "meh" stuff most people just throw away.  I call it

Eversweet National Forest, nestled under Gingerbread Peak.  Everyone at the Christmas lunch threw in their votes.  I overheard a few onlookers saying "this one is super busy!"  Well, of course it is! It's called nature, it's supposed to be messy! Things don't grow all in neat rows, ya know?

Tombstone Corners: It Takes A Village To Raise The Dead

Luckily, this year /i came across the Tombstone Corners series are they were unboxing them, so I have a nice checklist reference for anyone looking to complete the collection.

Some of these are just so out of scale that they didn't fit into the village very well, but they still make for nice accent pieces elsewhere.

The Toy Cave: Before and After (I'm back!)

Since I've decided to come back into full activity here at DI Treasures, I thought it appropriate for me to reveal to you my Toy Cave. Now not every toy is on display, but I finally got everything all tidied up and looking beautiful, so I hope you enjoy the tour!

(It also so happens that this goes hand in hand with the current League Of Extraordinary Bloggers assignment "'Shelf' Expression"! So, I'm gonna combine the two. Yeah, I do that a lot. It's all good though, right?)

With the Retro Duo Portable I can play all my NES and SNES carts on the go! My old school Nintendo collection is growing again little by little as I spot great deals at the DI.

On The Third Day Of Creepmas...

...my ghoul friend have to me,

3 Ice Skulls,

2 Bloodshot Eyes,

& Arachnids In A Pine Tree!

These ice skulls were yet another Halloween clearance bargain I just couldn't pass up. At a quarter each they cost me a grand total of 75 cents! 

Each skull has a little LED light glowing inside. The mouths look like try were cheaply drawn on with a Sharpie. The ice skulls are also made out of the same material as a decorative snowman we used to put out every year. My Mum gifted me the Santa hat and it fits perfectly on the ice skull's chilly noggin.

On another note, it started snowing today! It's time to go outside and build a Snow Golem! All you need to make your own is snow, a pumpkin, a candle, and some imagination!

It's alive! It's a Creepmas miracle!

If you don't have any snow in your neck of the woods, not to worry, just use up those white pumpkins you've been saving up. Or if you don't have white pumpkins you can always stop by your local craft store for supplies and dream up a Snow Gollum ornament.
