Bell and I have a lot in common these days.
Now that she is nearing 12 years old,
she likes to spend a lot of time laying around the house.
I am just as tired.
It's not that I am working so hard at work....
it's just that getting up at 5:30 a.m. and going to bed early
takes all my time. When I am home, I look just like Belle.
My blogging time is usually my late night activity.
Thus, my blogging is suffering.
However, I like having a journal of my life,
so here are a lot of pictures to show a few snippits of
what has been going on here at home.
Camille is mobile! She is so funny. Almost every time I
get my camera out, she just closes her eyes. So, I have
a lot of pictures of her that look like the above....
But, lucky for me....I did get one with her eyes open.
She is adorable!
Sunday dinner night. Here are the June Birthdays.
Steven, Amanda, Melissa, and Liam.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I wonder if they got their wish?
There was a bookmark contest at Pierce's school
and HE was the winner! Amanda brought us all bookmarks.
Pierce autographed Grandpa's and mine on the back.
Eating dinner.
Camille practicing her walking.
(this was in June)
Such a big girl!
One dinner night the kids had a Restaurant out in the playroom.
I went out for a pretend meal.
This was my menu.
I believe Emberly might have made it....
I think Liam was the janitor.
Ansley was the person that critiqued the restaurant.
I think Pierce was the manager.
Hailey was the one who seated people,
Emberly was the cook.
She used the little teddy bears and manipulative toys as the food.
On another note....
Ansley has been sewing a lot.
She actually made both of these dolls!
She is a very talented young lady.
This picture is either in honor of Steven and Amanda's
birthdays or their 17th anniversary.
Both came in close succession...
This picture is in honor of our 45th anniversary.
I didn't blog about it this year and we didn't take a picture,
so I asked Amanda to snap this one.
On our anniversary we helped a friend move.
We also went to the Temple.
We had planned to go out to dinner at a nice restaurant,
but we were too tired.
Instead, we stopped by Schlotzky's and got a couple of
sandwiches. We are both big fans of Schlotzky's.
Happy 45th Anniversary Mike.
We've been together practically since we were born....
In spite of all of our flaws, we were made for each other!
This picture is special because the shirt Claire is
wearing was painted by Melissa when she was in
kindergarten. It is a picture of a Lion...the mascot for her
elementary school at the time. It was made with
her handprints.
The boys having one last climb before they left for home.
As they were leaving, we stood by the cars.
I told them the story of the day their daddy tried to style
his hair with model airplane glue. They thought it was a
funny story. (smile face)
My brother, David, is a Red Cross volunteer.
He is a nurse and he has been going to
places of disaster and giving relief at shelters and other places.
We had a lot of flooding in Dallas in June, so he was deployed.
It was such a surprise that he was here and we loved getting to
see him and visit with him!
We saw him several times. One night we went for a quick
drive to downtown Dallas. We were looking for the Kennedy Memorial.
Our look was REALLY quick because I drove right by it
at such a clip that he barely saw the bricks on the building.
Sorry, David...
We went out to dinner a couple of times.
Not that I want to have any more disasters here....
but it would be nice to see David more often.
If that's what it takes, so be it.....
On Father's Day, Melissa came to wish her dad a happy day.
Our sweet little Camilla-pilla.
I wish she would stay little forever!
This is the first time I've ever said that about a baby.
David was here for a few weeks.
He finally had to go back home.
He spent the night with us.
He and I visited a lot. I'm glad he came.
Sunday dinner night in early July.
We ate a July 4th kind of dinner.
I love this face.
Heather and Ansley were not here that night.
Ansley had Youth Conference and Heather had to
pick her up.... I think.
(I should blog right after things happen if I want to remember
them with any surety). Anyway, I thought they had said
they would be gone on vacation for the next week
(which was actually closer to their birthdays)
so I made this birthday cake and Michael blew
out the candles for both of them.
Eating cake....
There are a lot of things that different people don't like to eat
around here, but EVERYONE likes cake.
We toasted to Grandpa getting a new job.
Oh happy day!
Emberly is still taking piano lessons.
She loves playing the piano and she is doing a great job.
I am so proud of her!
I love listening to her play the piano.
There is not too much going on these days besides work, sleep,
and Sunday dinner nights. My life is not too exciting...
but it is what it is and I am glad to be alive!
