A Little Announcement

I just thought I'd announce our exciting news...we are expecting another baby!! My due date is sometime around March 20th. I am almost 11 weeks along and my belly is already HUGE. I seriously can't believe how fast it grew this time...I look the same now as I did when I was 20 weeks along with Maia! I keep saying that I'll be doing good to make it out of my first trimester without having to break into the maternity clothes! Anyway, David thought we should wait another week before we started telling people, but I told him that my belly said otherwise. So now all of you can stop wondering if I've just let myself go and have gained weight for no apparent reason!
I have so many mixed feeling about this pregnancy... I am excited and know that it is time to expand our family, but I am so nervous to think about making the jump from one kid to two!! Some days I wonder if I'll be able to handle it. So I would love ENCOURAGING words from any of you (like how having 2 kids is WAY easier than having 1 and other lies like that!).

Time to Update...

I've been such a blogging slacker lately... I don't know what it is!! But I've finally decided to put up something so maybe people will keep coming to look at it! Maia and I have been home for just 1 week now, but we have settled back into the routine (pretty much!) and it feels like we have been back forever! It helps that the weather is still nice and we can get out and play a lot. We did lots of fun things this last week before David officially started school on Monday (yesterday). We went to a little place called Olcott Beach with our friends the Fox's. They have this little vintage carousal park where they have rides for the kids for 25 cents a piece--you can't beat that!! Maia loved them so much. I thought she might get a little worried on some of them, but I should have known better--this girl is a little daredevil with hardly any fear at all.
Saturday was a beautiful day and so we decided to take a little family trip down to Letchworth State Park....the place they call the "Grand Canyon of the East." It really is so beautiful there. We had fun hiking around and just being together as a family.

Here are some pictures from Olcott:

I love how excited and happy she is in this picture...I think it's because she was in charge of the machine gun and was shooting Lucas or Xander.

...And here are a few from Letchworth:
And these next pictures are just some more favorites from our family photo shoot while we were in Utah...Thanks again Jenny! I'm having a hard time picking out which ones to get printed out...there are too many good ones to choose from! I wish I could post the whole CD and let everyone take a vote....but there are about 400 pictures on there, so not really a good idea!!
The picture below is a classic example of what we get when we tell Maia to say "Cheese!"

Don't these look like they could be our engagement pictures??
I love this one of David and Maia!! SO cute.

We're Home!!

Maia and I finally made it back to good ol' Buffalo last night!! It is good to be home, but we miss our family and friends in Utah. Maia woke up this morning asking "where Nana go?" "where Poppy go?" (Nana and Poppy are my parents). But she was happy to see all of her toys and has been playing and playing.
I was so nervous for our flight home because I have never flown by myself with Maia, but she did amazingly well. She is definitely a busy girl, but for the most part, she sat in my lap and was entertained with all of the hundreds of activities I shoved in my backpack. It seriously weighed so much because of everything that was in there! And I know she had one too many packages of fruit snacks, but what do you do? We were so excited to see David when he picked us up at the airport!! It's hard to be away from each other! Just as we were getting ready to load our luggage in the trunk, we got rear-ended by a truck...a REALLY nice welcome home present! Luckily, there doesn't seem to be any damage....we'll keep you posted.
And finally....I was so excited to come home and FINALLY put up some pictures of our trip since I would be at my FAST computer....but can you guess? I was using my little brother's super fancy camera the whole time I was there, so right before I left, I burned a CD of all the pictures. I come home and try to load it on my computer and for some reason, it doesn't work. Are you kidding me??? I had over 500 pictures on it!! So now I have to have him burn me another one and send it snail mail from Utah. By that time everyone will be so over the Utah trip, no one will even care if I put the pictures on....oh well.
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know we are back and not sure what to do with ourselves because we don't have constant entertainment/interaction with people...we might need a few friends...so call us!
