Thanksgiving at Home

We decided to have Thanksgiving at our house this year for a couple of reasons, one we have been traveling a lot lately, and Dave is still pretty busy. It ended up being just what we all needed.  The kids and I made pie and rolls the night before and Dave and I made the rest of the meal the next day. I wanted to do a 5k or something like that with the kids, but it was pretty cold, so we settled on Dave playing basketball with his friends and I ran my own 10k. After eating we went and saw the Peanuts movie, which was kind of disappointing if you ask me, my kids liked it okay, but none of us were very impressed.  But it was still fun to get out.  Later that night I went to Target to get some Black Friday deals and Dave stayed home and the helped the kids decorate a gingerbread house.  The next morning the whole family went Black Friday shopping in our pajama's and we also picked up our Christmas tree.  It turned out to be pretty fun. The rest of the weekend we decorated the tree, played at the new Duck Park, ate way too many leftovers and had a pretty chill weekend.  

Vegas Ragnar 2015

My friend Chrissy from Las Vegas invited me to run with her Ragnar team. I ran the Wasatch Back Ragnar a couple of years ago and had fun, but this one was the best.  The first time I ran I didn't know my team very well and didn't have very much in common with most of them.  This time I knew most of my team before and we all just clicked really well. I ran a lot beforehand and ended up getting some good times, so that made it better too.  And we just had a fun team and laughed and joked a lot.  It was a good getaway, my favorite kind with a lot of working, eating, and talking! The only downside was how cold it was, when we started at 5 am at Mount Charleston it was 16 degrees and snow on the ground.  I hate the cold, but it wasn't as bad I though it would be.  I miss really good friends and connections that I had in Vegas.  Although I am getting to know people in St. George, it just doesn't seem the same.  I really miss that part, good friends who needed each other and were always finding an excuse to get together or have a party! 

I also added some pictures of Dave on full time dad duty, having to do hair and clothes and even taking them into work and other meetings that came up.  He juggled it all really well, especially because it ended up being a really busy weekend for him.  I guess that's why I rarely leave!

Another fun part of November was Brock's first time trying wrestling.  He had so much fun, and I'm so glad.  I loved being back in a wrestling room, I spent so much time with wrestling growing up with my brother's that it felt like home!  I hope Brock continues to enjoy it.

Creepy Crawly Halloween

A couple of months ago I found out that Garth Brook's was coming to concert in Salt Lake on Halloween weekend. Of course I HAD to go!  He is my favorite singer and puts on the BEST concerts.  I've only ever been to one other show in Vegas and I couldn't pass up an opportunity for another one.  Since it was going to be on Halloween weekend I talked with Lori and asked if they could watch our kids and let us do Halloween with their family.  They were really excited!  We went to the concert with Carson and Jennifer and had a blast.  He is so charismatic and fun.  He plays the best songs (although I would be happy with any song), and is a great overall entertainer. Both Dave and I left the concert wanting more, and we hope to be able to see him at other venue's. 

The rest of the weekend we spent trick or treating, going to lunch with just Bart and Lori at a new huge shopping center in Farmington, and letting the kids play.  It was such a fun weekend, and I still can't get over how fun the concert was.
