Conner is Rockin

Conner just got a new hair cut!!  I have to say that I absolutely love it!

I am still not completely sold on the back, but I will get used to it.  The back gets really messed up, and so it doesn't look as good, but I love it right after I do it!

He looks so much more grown-up!!  (he was watching a movie and wouldn't look at the camera!)

Amish Friendship Bread

I just received my very first start to make my own Amish Friendship Bread.  In about a week and a half I will have a few starts to give to people.  If any of you are interested in getting one for yourself please let me know.  I would love to share with you!!

I am very excited to make it for myself.  I have only tried it one time, and it was super delicious!!

Conner Quotes

Conner has learned something very valuable.  He can tell when I am not listening to him.  He will yell 'Mommy, Mommy' as loud as he can.  If that doesn't work he will yell even louder and more sternly, 'Cheryl'.  It makes me laugh every time he does it, and he does it at least a few times a day.

The other night I had a cubscout meeting.  Conner was playing happily in the backyard with the other kids.  When we left he said to me, "Mommy I love your meeting.  I played with the boys outside."  You would think he had just been at Disneyland with how happy he was.

Dave has been working a ton of hours this week.  The only time the kids get to see their Dad is when they are awake before he leaves in the morning.  Conner loves his Daddy, and loves to call him at work.  He called him the other day and said, "Daddy, you want to come home.  Please come home."  He just kept begging for his Daddy to come home.  I felt really bad and so did Dave.  He told me never to do that again.

Creativity

Conner is slowly getting better at drawing things that look like 'something'.  He is really into the movie Bedtime Stories.  His favorite part has to do with a giant booger monster.  The other day he wanted to draw a picture and so he drew the booger monster.  I could hear him telling himself all the details he was drawing ie the legs and arms and eyes....  It was really cute.

I apologize about the poor quality.  My camera had a hard time focusing the picture.  You can sort of make out what is on the paper.

He was very proud of himself.  Since then he has drawn other booger monsters.  Oh the joys of being a little boy!!

My Motherly Rantings

I never take the time to rant on my blog, but today I am going to.  Just to warn you this is really long and pretty boring, but I had to do this for myself.  Its helps me feel better when I can rant/vent.

I really hate it when babies won't sleep.  I put Vika in bed at 10:30 yesterday morning.  This is her normal morning nap time.  It was weird when she wasn't asleep after an hour of talking in her bed.  She will normally only talk for 15 min. max.  Then after an hour she was crying inconsolably.  I tried giving her an extra binki so that I wouldn't have to go upstairs quite as often.  She would cry every time she would drop one.  She had one in her mouth, and one on the floor, and she was hysterical.  I decided to be a bad mom and just leave her screaming in her bed in hopes that she would cry herself to sleep.  By noon I was sick of running upstairs and listening to her scream, so I got her out of bed.  I fed her lunch all the while she was screaming at me.  When she was screaming to the point I couldn't handle it anymore I took up to bed.  She then proceeded to scream until about 4:30.  I got her out of bed and took her outside (thats her happy place).  She screamed at me some more.  I was so done that I decided to walk to the park just to make her stop.  I hadn't showered, done my makeup or anything.  I looked amazing.  Conner was very excited to go to the park.  We get there and she is the happiest baby.  She was smiling and talking to everyone.  It got way too windy for me, so we went home for some dinner.  She started screaming again.  I tried giving her all of her favorite foods and nothing was doing any bit of good.  I finally just gave her some motrin, and got her ready for bed.  This was 6:oopm.  She cried for about 30 min. and then she was out cold.  I have never had her do this to me.  I was so snippy with Conner, and he thought I was mad at him.  I obviously don't do well with all day screaming.

I just hope today is a much better day than yesterday!!!
