Alex 5 months

I cannot believe our little Alex is already almost 6 months old! My little man has been such a fun addition to our family. A few things about Alex at 5 months: he loves to growl! He thinks it's funny while nursing, to pull on me and growl. Weirdo... ;) He loves loud noises. A friend got a new dog and while we were over she put him a kennel to keep him from jumping up on us. The dog had a very loud obnoxious bark but Alex loved it! He laughed and laughed! He blabbers a ton. The last couple nights he has woken at 4 am just to blab. He loves kisses and kind of attacks us to give us one....very slobbery I might add. He is super ticklish....especially on either side of his "man boobies" as Adison likes to call them. Alex was meant for our family. It's fun to see a boy version of our girls! Sometimes, ok, a lot of times, having 5 children is rough. Everyone wants your attention at once it seems, the amount of messes they make is incredible. I'm constantly exhausted and drained. But....BUT...I wouldn't trade it for anything; sleep, a maid, money, nothing. So adding this little man of mine to the mix was the 6th greatest decision I ever made! It's fun to see what a little boy is like, having grown up with no brothers. He's my little buddy for sure! A few weeks ago a couple friends from the ward came over to take some pictures of the boy. One, an experienced photographer with her own business and the other wanting to learn to start her own. These are a few that Andrea took, the experienced one. I have yet to see all of Pam's, but from the couple she showed me she's going to be a terrific photographer!

Anything to get out of cleaning...

On Saturday Emma and I were working in Alex's room folding and putting clothes away. Lying on the floor for some reason, was a brown marker. Emma and I looked at it and at the same time wiggled our eyebrows up and down. I said to her, "are you thinking what I am thinking?" Emma answered, "mustaches!" (Love this girl!) This is what resulted in a half hour of hysterical laughing with an undie change...and surprisingly it wasn't me... ;)

Photo Shoot February 2013

For my birthday last year, David got me a Canon T3 Rebel camera. I really should read up on how to maximize it's potential, but for now it takes amazing outdoor shots in good lighting. :) My sister Jamie came to be here when Alex was born so we took the opportunity to get the girls together with their cousin Charlotte for a little photo shoot. And while I'm not by any means a great photographer, the pictures came out pretty darn well!

Alexander Wesley

Alex is only what, almost 3 months old now so I figure I'd better start writing about him! Alexander Wesley is one dream baby. Never colicky, smiles, coos, let's anyone hold him, and is just all around wonderful. The girls love him and I am so happy our little "oops" happened! Alex was 4 days late, born on February 28th. The birth wasn't too bad compared to Adison's. There was a rough spot when all the nurses and head nurse ran into my room in the middle of the night because his pulse dropped to 78 bpm. They put an oxygen mask on me and did some manipulating and other stuff I wasn't aware of. After a few minutes they sighed in relief and I heard the monitor start beeping faster. I was told his heart rate dropped because the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. Of course David slept through the whole thing. Shocker. A few hours later they pronounced me ready to push. That was when they informed me he was posterior and stuck behind my pelvic bone. Yay. I pushed a few times with no results. This same thing happened with Adison and I knew I'd be pushing for at least 3 hours again so I told them I wanted to stop and resume trying a half hour later. David gave me a blessing and immediately I felt calm. Lying on my side I pushed without the nurses. I waited for contractions and pushed with them - I know feeling calm and being on my side (along with the blessing) is what got him out from behind my pelvis. Literally 10 minutes later I felt him crowning! I told Dave to get the midwife and 3 pushes later Alex popped right out! After that everything went beautifully...his head was perfect, color perfect and he chomped right down. I couldn't ask for a sweeter little spirit in our home. I am so grateful for the power of the priesthood and the gift of this little BOY.

So excited!!!

I know I have been the worst at blogging, only a year behind! But I vow to start again! :) We are super excited that we found out this morning we are having a BOY! Never thought it would happen to us.  Seriously.  But, even the ultrasound tech was excited to tell us.  She said after a couple minutes of looking at the baby, "Ok, I can't hold this in any longer, you're having a boy!" Dave I could tell was thrilled even though he tries to down play everything.  I recognized the little smile and gleam in his eye, it'll be exciting to see what this little boy looks like! Hopefully these next 20 weeks fly! Can't wait to hold him!

Summer 2011 Part Uno

Alright, so I've established I really stink at blogging, so for those who want to skip photos from 7 months ago I don't blame you! ;)
We had an amazing summer.  Number one, I wasn't preggo..so right there it made it fabulous.  It was full of swimming at Aunt Laura's pool, camping, Utah, family, soccer, friends, bbq's, movies outside...So here's summer part 1:

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July at my parents with family and friends.  It was one of the best 4ths ever.  My parents and sister Laura went all out at the reservation and bought a booty load of fireworks.  Neighbors even came to watch, it was that spectacular!

 Soccer!

My mom and dad went to every game, they are the best grandparents!

 Players and a super hero...

 Cousins lovin' on each other

Would have been a cute picture if my glasses weren't wonky!
Claire and Emma loved soccer.  They had a great coach and played in heavenly weather.  By the end of the "season" the girls were pretty good!
After the last game of the season (which Jamie, Ben and Charlotte got to go to) we celebrated Ben's birthday.
 Lotte's "cheese" face
I could see these people every day!
Happy Birthday Ben-jamin!!!

To be continued...hopefully...;)
