Earth Day Contest

At MyKelle's school her teacher made the whole class enter an Earth Day contest up at the Ogden Nature Center. The theme was, "I can change the world with my own two hands." We got a call last week informing us that MyKelle won first place in the contest!!!! We are so proud of her!

We went up to the Ogden nature center on Saturday for the ceremony. She was so proud of herself!! It was so fun to see her so excited about winning!

This is her picture. She said she could change the world by helping with the yard work. And this is her mowing the lawn.

This is where her picture hung in the room!

When they called her up to get her certificate, they asked her to talk about her picture and she told them no. I was so suprised!! MyKelle never gives up the chance to show off in public! She later told me she was just to shy to talk in front of everyone.

She got her picture taken with Stan bird, which she called Big bird all day long.

Then of course, Gage needed a picture with Stan bird.

Good job MyKelle!! We love you so much and we are so very proud of you!

One Week Old!

Wow! My little baby is one week old today! This past week has gone by way too fast! My little girl is so cute and sweet! I'm loving every minute I have with her!

Brinley loves her face! This may sound weird, but her hands always have to be touching some part of her face! It is so cute!

The kids love her so much!!! They just can't get enough of their little sister!

We have had a lot of visitors this week also. I have loved all the company, but didn't take pictures of everyone that came.

Grandma Williams came down from Logan for a fun visit.

My Papa came up from centerville to see Brinley. He just loved Brinley. He kept telling me how lucky I was to have such a beautiful baby. My mom kept trying to take a picture and to get papa to look at the camera and he yelled at her and told her no! So I didn't even try to get him to look at the camera. He just loved looking at my little girl!

This week Brinley got her first bath at home! She does not like baths!! Actually she just doesn't like being naked!

This is her before the bath! Nice and calm!

In the tube we go! But we are not happy!

Finally calmed down!

Brinley also loves to suck on things! We noticed this right when she was born. She has already found her fingers!! If we don't get her binkie in her mouth fast enough, she tries to find her fingers. Sometimes she can get two or three fingers in her mouth at once.

This time she just got one finger in her mouth.

Today we also had the fun time of going down to my mom's house to have my wonderful sister, Kelli, take pictures of Brinley. I told Kelli a long time ago that she had until April to become a professional photographer, because I wanted her to take my child's baby pictures. Kelli just amazed me today!! She is so fun, and creative. She has got the eye to really do this for a living!

We had some issues with lighting, but I think that they turned out great!!! These pictures are ones that I took with my camera.

Because of the lighting issues Kelli was trying to have Darin cover up the light with a sheet, so it wasn't so bright. But then Kelli also wanted to take a picture from that same angle! That girl will do anything to get the perfect picture!

I just loved this setting that I even had to take one with my camera! I couldn't believe that Brinley fit in that little Easter basket!

Happy Easter!

(This one is with my camera)

Here are just a few of my favorites from the pictures that Kelli took! I will post more later when I have more time to upload pictures!

Thanks so much Kelli!!!

Welcome Brinley Williams

On Thursday March 31, 2011 I went into Davis Hospital at 6:30 a.m. to be induced. We got all checked in and into our room by around 7:00 a.m. where they started me on my antibiotics. I needed to have some antibiotics because I was strep B positive. They wanted the antibiotics in my system for at least 4 hours before I delivered. Since my last delivery went longer than 4 hours they weren't too worried about the time frame.

My doctor came in at about 7:30 a.m. and broke my water and then they started me on the pit. I was almost dilated to a 4 so they went ahead and ordered my epidural for me. I started having lots of contractions that hurt and were happening really close together. My nurse was getting nervous that I was going to fast, so she turned off the pit around 8:30. Then the guy came in to give me my epidural. He was done around 9:00. Then my nurse checked me, and I was dilated to an 8!!! So she called my doctor in, and told me I was very lucky that I got the epidural, because it was almost too late!! My mom finally got there around 9:30, which is when my doctor got there, and we started to push!!!

The birth was a little dramatic. I was worried that I didn't have my antibiotics in me long enough, but the doctor told me not to worry about that. When I started pushing the babies heartbeat started dropping and they needed to get her out fast. So they did have to end up using the vacuum. Then they found that the cord was wrapped around her neck. My doctor ended up cutting the cord before Brinley was even all the way out. I looked down to see a very purple baby! No one was telling me what the gender of my baby was, because they were concentrating on getting her to breath. So I got to be the one to look and announce to everyone that I did have a baby girl!!!! They got her breathing very quickly and she got her color very quickly as well!! And now I have a very healthy baby girl!!!!

She was born at 9:48 a.m. She weighed in at 7 lbs 8.5 oz (which they rounded up to 7 lbs 9 oz.) She is 20 inches long. and has some dark hair. (not as much as Mykelle or Gage had, but I will take it)

So Pretty! Everyone was pretty excited that it was a girl!! Jo Jo was a little upset, because that meant that she was wrong about me having a boy, and Jo Jo hates to be wrong!! Mommy and the baby! Daddy and the baby!

MyKelle and her little sister!!

MyKelle is so excited to have a little sister! She has been wishing that the baby would be a girl! She sings to her and will hold her and rock her and tell her not to cry! It's pretty cute.

So sweet!

Gage and little sister!!

Gage has wanted a girl the whole time that I was pregnant, but when we told him that it was a girl he pouted and said, "But I wanted a boy". Kelli recorded it on her phone, and it is pretty sad to watch, but he has come around and loves his little sister.

He is very careful and gentle with his new little sister! He even has a song that he sings to Brinley when she cries. Its pretty sweet!
This is the hat they gave us at the hospital! I think it's so cute, but it kinda looks like she has a rug on her head.

This is our very first family picture with Brinley!

This is proof that my dad did hold her! He is not a fan of holding babies.

Thank you to everyone that helped me during this week!! It has meant a lot to us!!!
