20 weeks preggo...

So I am halfway done with this pregnancy, don't know how that happened. I feel good and am realizing that if the second half of this pregnancy flies by as fast as the first half, then I have a lot to do to get ready for this baby! We found out we are having a baby GIRL so that was SO exciting! I was a nervous wreck going in for the ultrasound...I kept thinking, what if I never have a daughter! I was so distraught thinking I might not experience all the mother/daughter things. I would have been overjoyed with a boy I know, but I really did want a little girl. I was so thrilled when the ultrasound tech told us a girl!!!! So needless to say she has a closet full of the cutest little PINK clothes...there is some purple and blue, but lets face it PINK rules!!! Girl stuff is just to die for! I am loving this! Pretty sure her name will be LeAnne, we have always really liked the name. Eric mentioned it when we were pregnant with Carson and we both still love it.

When I ask Carson where his baby sister is he points to my belly and then he gives my belly a kiss, it makes me melt!!! I hope he is just as sweet to her when she is out of my belly, that is the true test! Carson is his usual busy self...running around non stop all day. He does still usually take a morning and afternoon nap. Some days, like today, just one nap which is nice because then he will usually go to bed at around 6:45 or 7, so that is very nice. He never ever sits in one spot to play so I am chasing him all day, so an early bedtime is a nice break so I can sit down and relax. When we ask him how old he is he holds one finger up in the air, then he touches his nose right away since we usually ask him next where his nose is, haha, he is so programmed. He is trying to talk more, he tries so hard to copy what we say. He enjoys being around other kids, especially older kids he can follow around. He is such a funny kid and we are enjoying everyday with him and his silly personality.

As for me and being pregnant...well I am gaining weight like a pro! Haha. I am trying to exercise as much as I can, I just realize I can't do as much. Chasing a one year old around makes my belly and back sore as it is. I have to remember not to push my body too much even though I want to sometimes. This has been a struggle for me. My little girl is more important than my exercise, Eric reminds me of this. I think having two pregnancies close together has made me worry so much more about my body, I need to work on this. I am thankful for my wonderful husband who tells me how beautiful I am despite how awful I feel!!! I know he loves me even if I gain more weight this pregnancy and look like a tired worn out mom! We all know men or have seen men on shows that can make women feel bad or want their woman to be a certain size, all I have to say is, what pigs! I can't imagine! It makes me sad for those women who feel like they have to be within a certain weight, I can't imagine that pressure, that is what I call conditional love. Even when I am not pregnant I never have pressure from my husband to be a certain weight, so glad I don't too! Thankful for Eric's understanding when I need to vent and his unconditional love. I don't want to be miserable worrying constantly about my weight, I want to have the confidence to be happy with who I am. It may not be easy, but it is my goal. I see people who worry constantly and I don't want to be that and Eric doesn't want me to be that either, so I will try my hardest to be more secure with my body as it grows and changes once again. : ) The happy face is me TRYING to be happy with my body!

13 months

13 months old and he is starting to seem more and more boyish and toddler-ish everyday!

He is still way into saying animal noises and vehicle noises.
Tractor says "dutdutdut"
Helicopter says "mumumumu"
Truck says "vroom"
airplane says "mmm"

He does the sounds for a
cow
duck
horse
sheep
I will line his animals up on the coffee table and tell him to bring me the "zebra" and he will put it in my hand...he is following some simple commands.

He loves to open his mouth wide and say "OOOO" and his little eyes get big...so cute! He copies everything or at least tries to.

The foods he loves...
well pretty much everything and anything we eat now, which is wonderful!
He is a great eater.

He loves...
bananas
toast with peanut butter
chicken
sweet potatoes
broccoli
tomatoes
cheese
melon
manicotti
even some spicy stuff
Let me just say the ONLY thing I found he doesn't like are avocados, Eric doesn't like them either, which is just crazy!

There is a picture of Eric and Carson on my phone and so he always says "dada" anytime I am on the phone now.

After his bath at night when I walk with him past the front door he says "dada" because he knows it is getting close to when daddy comes home....so sweet!

He went to the doctor this month and he screamed and fought harder than any other baby his doctor had ever seen...what a stinker!

He now has 2 more teeth that have recently surfaced making the grand total 8.

He is understanding "no" and "don't touch", thank goodness...not to say he isn't defiant and will touch it anyways : )

He wears size 4 diapers and mostly 12 month clothes with some 18 month stuff, he is sort of in between right now.

He weighs 21 pounds.

When I leave him with someone I get lots of hugs and kisses from him when I return...nice to know he loves his mommy!

He loves all his family and is quite happy having so many people love on him and play with him!

He screams most Sundays the whole time we are in church...lovely!

He likes to swim.

He is obsessed with balls...he goes around the house all day with his hands out saying "ball?, ball?"

We go to mommy and me and Carson plays with other kids...well I guess at this age they don't really play together they just do their own thing...really funny to watch actually!

He is more interested in Daisy now and will climb on her and pat her...thankfully Daisy is a very relaxed dog.

His carseat faces forward now so he can see what is going on better now and loves it.

And I will end with a funny story....we were at a playgroup one day and a little boy came up to him and tried to kiss him on the lips while they were playing in a kiddie pool....well Carson was just not having it and with both hands pushed him down. The little boy tried again and Carson pushed him down again... he fell in the water so he went splash, he didn't get hurt....sorry was I suppose to tell him "no"? I was laughing so hard I couldn't!!! Daddy was very proud of course! haha! He has had kisses from girls and he was okay with it, but he just doesn't swing that way.

10 weeks...

I want to remember and embrace this pregnancy as much as I did with Carson, even though I am a bit busier this time around. : )

I didn't know I was pregnant until I was 6 weeks along, which explained why I had been having bouts of nausea and was so sleepy the whole week before. I went and got my hair done one day and then met my sister-in-law for lunch and we did a little shopping. By the time I got home I felt like I had run a marathon...I was SO worn out! I also had the worst headache ever! I went to my mother-in-laws house to pick Carson up and I asked her if she had a coke, since I thought maybe I needed some caffeine or something. She asked if maybe I needed to take a pregnancy test after telling her of my headaches and that I was feeling a little nauseous earlier in the week. I totally blew her off like "are you crazy, ME pregnant, I don't think so!". Well that night before I went to bed I decided to take a test not thinking anything of it...I didn't even tell Eric. Needless to say I was SHOCKED! The next few days we were pretty much in a state of shock. I sat on the bathroom floor next to the sinks just speechless! Eric couldn't believe it either!

I was also a little panicky since I was on lots of medications with Carson, and we didn't know if those were needed (since I had a previous miscarriage). After seeing my doctor he decided no medications were needed and we saw and heard the heartbeat! That finally made it sink in for us that there really was a baby in there! So by the time I actually found out I was pregnant I was feeling pretty icky. I was on the sofa thinking "how in the world am I going to do this and care for my 11 month old?" Feeling nauseous and sofa-bound lasted 2-3 weeks and now I am feeling better, but only as long as I don't really do much. I can pretty much only run one errand a day, since I get tired way easily and then I will begin to feel bad. Basically, I don't do a lot these days other than caring for Carson, which is enough work. I don't remember having this kind of exhaustion with Carson, this is a tired I have never experienced before! We swim a lot, since that is relaxing and fun for both Carson and I. I spend a lot of time at my parents swimming and laying on their sofa so that I can get a little rest. My mom has also done lots of our laundry and helped clean some when I am struggling to get things done, that has been nice. The hardest thing is that Eric pretty much is gone almost everyday working...so it has been tough with me not feeling well. He has had a lot to do, finishing his thesis, interviews, working, review class in L.A. for the boards, and the overtime work he has put in. We are extremely tired, but life goes on! So we are just hoping that in a couple months things will slow down and we can all get some much needed rest and feel more energetic around here! Until then, we will continue to get through each day the best we can and count our blessings that we have been given. And we are SO excited to be adding another little one to our family! I still can't believe Carson will be a big brother!

100% BOY

This was Carson's first taste of pizza crust at Bj's, he is a huge fan just like his mom and dad.
He loves his birthday present from us, a pirate ship that fills with water. He is a water baby for sure, takes after his mommy and loves to be outside in the water. He loves to swim in the pool and I love the long naps and great sleeping after he swims!!! It's great! : )
His favorite thing is and always has been tractors! His favorite book has always been his John Deere tractor book that Eric's grandpa got him and now he loves playing with all his tractors. He makes all the right noises too! It is SO boy of him and so cute to watch him figure out what he likes and he LOVES his tractors! He has cars and trucks....but nothing compares to his tractors. I think his great grandpas must have something to do with that!

Carson is a full on walker now....he is almost a runner rather than a walker. He is on a mission now! He is seriously 100% a boy, he NEVER is still and is always on the move. He is SO active. He keeps me moving all day long for sure. Wears this mommy out these days....I really need that second trimester energy to kick in soon! I just LOVE how active and happy he is though, I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

Oh the places they will go...

Eric is no longer a student!!!!!!! So he got a surprise party to celebrate! It was a combination party for Carson's 1st birthday and his graduation. It was lots of fun, people brought books for Carson and gag gifts for Eric. Among Eric's gifts were lots of medications (viagra, farters choice, a special concoction of trail mix for pregnant mothers, that was for his wife of course), a speculum, a self anethesia kit, a sock monkey because he only thinks he got the monkey off his back, a snuggie because everyone needs one, rubber gloves of course, and many others I maybe won't mention...haha. It was SO great to surprise Eric since he deserves to celebrate after ALL his hard work over the years!!!!! I am SO incredibly proud of my man for following his passion and finishing school even with a growing family to support! I can't wait for him to start his new job and be able to do what he knows God has called him to do. He will help so many people and be a great Family Nurse Practitioner! But first, Eric has to pass the boards....so he will continue to study for now!

My little cat in the hat enjoying his prune cake (it's a family favorite my grandma makes, it's really yummy, I promise!). I can't believe our little guys is one, yet we can't remember our lives without him. I absolutely refuse to say he is a toddler now, he will always be my baby boy!
The bears were decorated as a medical bear and birthday bears. We also had a sample tray of urine and poop which were yellow jelly beans and chocolate covered raisens for people to take. There were lifesavors and heart candies as well sprinkled on the tables. It was great to celebrate two very special times in our lives with our family and friends.

Shock of a lifetime...

I'm Pregnant!!! Ya, surprise to us too!!!! No infertility meds, no metformin, no progesterone, and no heparin shots this time around!!! And no trying for that matter...just spontaneously preggo!!! We are still in shock over here, but excited to not have to go on the VERY expensive route this time! But shocked it is this soon....Carson's not even 1 yet!!!! I am feeling rather nauseous and very, very, very tired-my sofa and I are inseperable on the days Eric is off to help with Carson. We saw and heard the heartbeat on Monday and so that was really awesome, made it all very real that, indeed, we are having another baby! : )

First words...

I wanted to be sure to note Carson's first words at 10 months.

He is constantly throwing balls, and has a pretty good arm too! So of course the word "ball" was one of his firsts, as baseball is his daddy's sport.

He also attempts to say "duck" but it comes out sounding like "g", but he tries so hard to say it every night as he plays with his ducks in the bathtub.

If we ask him what a cow says he says "mmm, mmm" as "moo, moo".

If we ask him what a lamb says he says "baa" it is so cute!

He says "book" which comes out "bu".

In his room is hanging a model airplane that was my grandpa's and when we ask him what sound an airplane makes he blows a raspberry.

He also pushes his cars and trucks around saying "vrrrooooom" all day long. Such a boy!!!!

If we tell Carson to "shake it baby" he will get down and boogie, So great!

I also sing silly made up songs (you know we all do this!) and he dances and laughs....fun for both of us!

At night time I have always sung to him "twinkle, twinkle" and so he puts his head on my shoulder and knows it is night night time. So sweet! In his Baby Einstein video the "twinkle, twinkle" song comes on like 5 different times (in different languages) and when he watches it he cries every time that song is on because he thinks I am putting him to bed, so funny!

He also loves to point at things in his books so we will tell him what they are. He is getting so into talking now, he tries to copy and say things all the time. It is so fun to watch him learn.

He is really close to walking too! He sort of stopped acting interested for a while...and now he wants to hold on to one of our fingers and walk around the house all the time. He attempts to take a step, he is just really cautious. Any day he will take off though and he will be a full fledged walker.

We are having the best time watching our little guy grow...such a blessing! We could not be happier and are so blessed to have our family and friends enjoying our son too. Watching others love on our little man brings us such joy! Just like we enjoy other babies and kids, it is great to see people enjoy ours. It takes a village to raise a family, I TRULY believe this!
