Steve's Latest Thoughts - you need to pay attention

EDITORS NOTE: PRIOR TO READING THIS POST, PLEASE KNOW THAT I AM NOT DISCUSSING ANY PERSON THAT I STILL KEEP IN CONTACT WITH. THIS INCLUDES AUNTS, WIVES OF FRIENDS, FRIENDS, OR ANY OTHER RELATION OR RELATIONSHIP IN WHICH I HAVE HAD CONTACT WITH SOMEONE, UMMM, LETS SAY IN THE PAST YEAR. YOU DO NOT APPLY TO THIS BLOG. ALL OF YOU OTHERS DO...

Thursday night I literally snapped my left hamstring playing softball. Really? Right before I turn 30? Old sucks...

Immediately after I snapped my hammy we purchased this 4 wheeler. Haven't ridden it yet, but I am sure it will be fun...

Why is everyone posting this dance thing on their blogs. You know, the "Bleeding Heart" dance from some dance show. Dancers are awkward and way boring. Until I met Christina I only dated dancers, cheerleaders, etc. What a YAWN. In between dating a couple cheerleaders in high school, the head cheerleader at Idaho State, some dancers at ISU, and other cheerleaders at ISU, I finally realized the other girls were funnier, had more personality, and knew more stuff to do other than, "let's go to the church dance." SHOOT ME NOW!!!!!!!

There is so much more out there. I was forced to go to my share of cheer camp performances, UDA and UCA performances, halftime shows, etc. I was never so bored in my life. I hope my girls don't dance. Maybe we won't have girls so we don't have to worry about this problem. I hope my boys don't bring home dancers or cheerleaders. Talk about superficial. If they do we will love them though, as long as they aren't manipulative and superficial like the rest.

Scout Camp. What a joke.

Having to lay in bed all weekend long with a torn hammy? Another joke. The only thing that made up for my weekend was Keith's blog about almost shooting the gangsta's at TPC Summerlin with his pearl gripped .45, and watching movies with Christina this weekend. Love you sugar-buns!

I swear I am not in a bad mood. Just annoyed by all this dance crap...

I am prepared to now be absolutely hammered by friends and family because most of my friends wives either danced or cheered at least in high school. I swear I love you guys, just not the others! I promise you aren't manipulative or superficial at all!!!!!!! =-)

kayden chad

Christina wanted me to post these pics. While Christina was sick, working 6 days a week, and prego, Kayden and I enjoyed going and getting juices. We went and got one last night. He waits patiently in the chair for our order to be ready, when they call our name he goes to the checkout stand, then enjoys his pint sized juice. We both love "orange obsession."

He also loves to put his face in the bath water, and/or cover himself with the bubbles. Doesn't he look a little scary?

First Cabin Trips of the Summer

Well, I know that I have not been doing a very good job posting this year and Steve has been doing most of it. There just wasn’t much to say when I was working 6 days a week and feeling horrible all of the time. But we are back on track now and have a fun summer planned, so hopefully I can share it all.

Steve already posted about us going to the cabin the first weekend this month to work on the railing. I will just say that some worked on it more than others, but we got two sides done and had a fun time. I didn’t really help work, but I took care of Kayden and tried to keep the men fed and the cabin cleaned up. We came home on Sunday, and then I had two days to do laundry, go grocery shopping, and pack everything again to go back up on Wednesday. Sarah and Helen spent the night at our house on Tuesday night so we could leave early Wednesday morning. We didn’t get to bed until about midnight and Kayden must have known what was going on and been too excited because he woke up at 3 in the morning and never went back to sleep. We had taken Anni over to my Dad’s house already to stay while we were gone, and Kayden was roaming the dark house at 3 am calling for Anni and looking for her. I finally just got up at 4:30 and started loading the car. It still took us until 6 to officially get out of town by the time we got everything packed, the car gassed up, and some McDonalds to go. Kayden was out before we even hit I-15. I must admit the freeways were great that early in the morning, but we did hit rush hour traffic in St. George. We even stopped to take in the view at Cedar Breaks. It was freezing cold!! Helen and Sarah took one look, said “let’s go”, and ran back to the car. We just relaxed, and slept, once we got to the cabin until the Camps came that afternoon. Then it was all fun, fishing, and 4-wheeler riding after that. Steve came up with his Mom and Matt Wednesday night, and Mark came up the next morning. Here are some pictures of our fun times:

Matthew and Helen (Max is on another one) waiting on the bikes for someone to take them for a ride.
Steve trying to get the bike down the rocks, he already almost fell off.
Some of the boys and Sarah went fishing at Panguitch Thursday afternoon.

Waiting for the popcorn.

Mark, of course, immediately started working on the 3rd side of the railing.

Here's Matt and Steve helping when they weren't fishing.

I was out on the 4wheelers with Kayden most of the day on Friday and burnt the top of my hands. I haven’t done that in forever. Kayden is already starting to try and drive and will occasionally try to push the gas. He will not let you hold on to him either. If I try to put my arm around him he will take my hand and put it back up on the handle bars. Steve and I went up to Dead Lake and the mud puddles were GREAT! Every single one was full of water. I guess we could have gone around them, but what is the fun in that?

This is one of the many mud puddles we went through on our ride.

Steve looking over Dead Lake. I walked the rest of the way in since it was so bumpy.
Trying to wash off some mud in the stream.
The aftermath of our ride. Our legs and feet were totally covered!
Friday night Steve and his Dad went over to Navajo to fish off the dike. Steve caught 11 and Mark caught 1 (but it was the biggest one).

By Saturday morning everyone had left except our little family and Steve’s Mom. We cleaned up the cabin, took naps, and relaxed the rest of the day and headed home Saturday night. It was so nice to hang-out all day and went by way too fast. Kayden, of course, didn’t fall asleep until 20 minutes before we got home. We are trying to decide when we can go back next, but I am a little exhausted from packing so much. I’m sure the Vegas heat will drive me to pack it all up again soon though.

cabin fish

Drove up to the cabin friday night to work on the deck. We got a lot done actually. About 4 pm Andrew, Zacky, Matthew, his friend big Zack and I took off for Panguitch to fish. We rented a boat and spent 3 hours on the lake. I caught 4, Andrew 3, and Matt and little Zack 2 each. Big Zack got skunked. He will do better this weekend though, I promise.

On the way in to the dock we were trolling and i said to Andrew, "we haven't doubled up in a long time." Double up meaning where we both hook a fish and real in at the same time. Not 2 minutes later Andrew says, "I got a huge one." (Again, please refrain from any "that's what she said" comments here). The second he finished his statement my pole went BAM! Yep, we doubled up with two enormous trout. Mine was easily 16 inches. Andrews (as shown in the picture) was around 18 or 19 inches. The picture doesn't do it justice. They were both big fish. As i released my trout (another phrase used for toilet purposes) i thought, "i should have gotten a picture." Oh well, we got andrew's photo for the memories, and we doubled up again, baby!

Kayden's New Helmet

So, as you can tell by the picture, we got Kayden a helmet for riding the 4-wheelers at the cabin this summer. When we were trying helmets on him at the store he threw a fit, but by the time we got home he kept wanting to put his new helmet on and then he would ride his scooter. He looks like he is going to fall over running around with that big thing on. He also laid on the bed for a minute and watched TV with his helmet. We can't wait to get to go to the cabin and then Kayden can actually wear his helmet on the bikes. Watch out!!
